No guys I can't bring myself to see it .
Maybe it was a publicity stunt . Or maybe Sushant got them to cancel the second marraige track by putting his foot down . Whatever . Its gone now , that track bcoz of the furore in this forum that is read by CVs . Otherwise if u notice till that lady came and told Manav had been spotted in New Mumbai [ Vashi } , she mentioned that he was in a car with a lady .
That means that track HAD been there in CVS mind .
But they must have read the furore and Sushant must have taken a strong stand . They must have hurriedly retracted .
They are still doing a lousy job . Manav has been brought back ...to what ?
The same Fatichar life , the same insults by his saalis , the same getting milked dry by sasural for finances that never existed in his accounts in the first place ?
I mentioned in my blog in humor that everyone blames Manav for running away , but perhaps it was the only realism shown in the show after all . That its not just enuf that the wife is good personally ...he needs some normalcy in his life dammit . Manav's normal life ended the day he married Archana . Till the day before he married her he was a normal man .He was a simple hard working mechanic who earned enough to buy the ration of his house and was happy with his alive family .
He married her and everything changed . That ill fated SatyaNarayan pooja that never took off [ my mother always told me that a SatyaNarayan shud NEVER be left half way , it brings immense bad luck] brought a spate of bad luck in his life like we Maharastrians believe . His life was NEVER the same again .
Two years and two jailings with police torture [ the ratio is one jailing for one year] , innumerable insults by sasural , slaps , a dead brother and now a dead unborn kid , constant financial burdens of sasural on his poor head that leaves him stripped financially to help himself when he needs the dough badly ...like wanting money for the operation and not having it , emasculation by Archana's relatives ...the first thought that came in my head when I saw the runaway scene was Its a Wonder he didn't run away Before . Any Other husband would have . What happiness has this marraige given him ? By now THe Deshmukhs have lost two lives due to the Karanjkars . Sachin and now the baby that never came in this world .
How many more losses are they going to suffer ? The Karanjkars... ...Archana's family are fine ...alive and kicking , conveniently forgiving each other and hushing up all the insults a member of their family heaps on poor Manav , whether it 's their Manju or their Varsha...so long as its just that Manav who is getting insulted , its fine , they can go back to their lives the very next day . They are unjailed to this point ...whatever their crimes may be ...doing false police complaints , flicking gold jewellery by substituting false sets , framing someone for thefts , killing a baby morally by ignoring pleas for help .
Manav was criticized so much for not defending Archana enough in front of Savita earlier . But post remarraige Manav protected her VERY WELL . He took a firm stand that he and Archana were a package and left his mother . He refused to see her face or give her his address till she respected Archana and finally his stand brought the old lady to her knees . Archana entered that house with the respect that Manav demanded that shud be given to her ...with an aarti by Savita .
But Could Archana demand the same respect for Manav ? Just as it was Manav's duty to protect her from his mother , wasn't it her duty to protect HIM from HER Adam's family ? Could she give this messsage to her bitchy sisters that they were a Package and that HIS insult was HER insult ?
I never saw it . I saw her standing mutely in a corner with feeble protests and rushing to envelop those very sisters who walked all over her husband in just a span of two days the moment they insulted her husband .
So what I inferred as the moral of this story was
Don't let your maayka walk all over ur husband or he runs away .
Some may get angry ...very angry at me for saying so . They will say , So what our Archu did not suffer in this marraige ? Only Manav did ? Even Archu suffered .
True . But what to say . If she is not running away from this and liking it , she has a serious problem . Maybe Manav became sensible for some normal moments . For some time he became Shaana .
Manav was hated for going away . Do people who have miscarraiges go away ?Do people who have financial problems go away ?were the questions asked .
No they don't . But then they ONLY have a miscarraige or financial problem or two . They don't experience the roller coaster ride that Manav experienced that was called a marraige with Archana ...a ride that halted when his baby died . He jumped off the roller coaster and ran . By now that ride was so bumpity that even WE felt like puking . The only one who seemed to love this roller coaster with a wide smile on her face was Archana .
When nothing about Manav's marital life was normal , why was his reaction to that horrific death of his baby expected to be normal ? Had he led a normal night ?
Who was the one who left ? Was it only Archana's husband ? Or was it the baby's Father who left ? Can people understand that , ever ? For a new bond with Archana , Manav left the old bond with Savita . For the new bond he formed with his unborn child , Manav found he could indeed walk out on the bond with Archana so that he could grieve alone in peace to honor the newly formed bond with his child that never really took off in the real world .
It was the latter . Archana , sadly , was not that attached to the baby from the very beginning .She wanted it more for Manav rather than herself . She had given it away mentally to her sister even before the first trimester was over . She never was overtly concerned about it or worried for it . She only wanted Manav . She wud have been perfectly happy with Manav alone if he had permitted her to give the baby away to Varsha so that Varsha should be happy . Archana's real babies always were her sisters . She is a fulfilled woman maternally in that sense .
The baby finally made Manav take offense .
The baby has STILL not made Archana take offense . Neither has Manav's going away made her see red with her family . She is mad with GRIEF for missing her husband but she is not ANGRY yet ... ...yes , even yet , with her family for making her husband go away. She has STILL not probed in the whys of Manav's transformation . That somewhere along she emboldened her family so much with her constant forgiving attitude that they emasculated her husband till he cud take it no more and left HER . That just like Manav changed , she too needed to change and take offense .
That the Deshmukhs suffered a second loss due to her infernally spoilt self righteous family .
Loss of life is irrevocable . And so the transformations that follow are irrevocable too .
Loss of Sachin made Savita hate Archana so much that Manav had a hard time bringing her around .
The Cvs shud show that loss of the baby shud make Manav as unbending as Savita was in her grief and that till the end of this serial he should NEVER forgive his baby's murderers .
Maybe Manav finally understands Savita now . No one can condone losing babies .
Ideally this fury shud have been Archana's , as a mother . But no problem . At least one parent was shown having it .
If she seriously has slapped Manav a second time in this serial , I would have much preferred to see a scene where she sat on the steps of that very temple and slapped herself , repeatedly , for not taking his insults by HER family seriously enough ...that they went so unchecked and so far that she and Manav lost their baby .
Bye to this serial . Im never gonna watch an Ekta Kapoor show in my LIFE .
