Everyone seems to have taken such a hard stance against Manav. I understand, to some degree, how you all feel. However, we must remember all the circumstances that led up to this event.
From day one, Manav has had to struggle for whatever he wanted to achieve in life. He has always had so much responsibility. The first time he and Archana got married, they didn't even get to leave the mandap together. When they were finally living together, Manav had to deal with Savita's hatred towards Archana. Before they could "become one" as husband and wife, they were once more separated. He lost his brother. Then the whole Shravani business.
After the one year leap, he had to deal with being around Archana daily, with all his feelings towards her being brought to the fore once more, and yet he had to fight these feelings and emotions because he was "responsible" for someone else, (Shravani). Manav also had to contend with another man being "involved" with his love.
Both Manav and Archana had to live with this very stressful situation right up to the last minute when common sense prevailed via Satish and Shravani, and Manav and Archana could unite. Even then, things were very rough as they had to spend their first night together, homeless. They also had to struggle financially and with Manav finding it difficult to get a job. They also did not have the support of their families.
One also has to remember all the failed attempts Manav has had re looking after his family, financially. He lost the garage through no fault of his own. When Tarun gave him hope of his, (Tarun's) father getting back the garage for them, nothing happened. Manav tried his hand at the factory, (Satish and Dharmesh), he tried with the money lending business, and most recently the export business. All these failed, and usually not for lack of trying on Manav's part. Some of these failures were as a result of those who were seeking revenge and wilfully causing his business to fail.
Then we have the pregnancy issue. All Manav wanted was to love and support his famiily (Archana, his child, and his parents). As he said, he always went out of his way to help all his extended family members when they needed it, usually to his and his wife's detriment. Then the ONE time he needed their help, not one of them was there for him.
Many people commented on how desparate and low Manav looked in the episode when Ankita had the miscarriage. He kept remembering all the negative things his relatives told him, especially Dharmesh. He held himself responsible for Archana's miscarriage. In all, he saw himself as a failure. This thought was not just because of recent events, but as a result of all the negative experiences he had over the years.
As human beings, we can only take so much before we "crack". That, I think, is what happened to Manav. He loves Archana so much, had such high hopes of their life together, had so much happiness in his mind re his child, that when Archana lost their baby because he did not have the necessary funds for her medical care, that was the proverbial "straw that broke the camels back":
When one hits such an emotional low, one doesn't think rationally. Manav isn't thinking rationally at this time, therefore we cannot apply rational thoughts to his thinking process. When Archana called him the morning after he left home, remember he said that he can't talk to her now, but he can at least hear her voice. His expression when he put the phone down, says it all. He still loves her, but feels such a failure re his responsibility to her as her husband, that he's unable to face her. A rational and normal Manav would NEVER do something like this. I don't like the fact that he left Archana in her time of need, but he clearly is not in his right mind.
Having said all that, I know that I will never give up on Manav and Archana. Without them being a married couple on PR, there is no PR, and the title and theme of the show would make no sense. Having Manav in a relationship with another woman, and/or Archana with another man, will not be accepted by the fans or public at large. Having Manav return with a wife and child means there can be no pavitra rishta between himself and Archana, therefore the show would cease to exist.
The solution to all the nonsense that has occured in the last week or so, is to make it all a dream. From the point where Archana collapsed in pain at her home, to the present, all that has to be a dream either Archana or Manav had. Let everybody know, (via Shibu), that Dharmesh plotted against Manav re the drugs in the shipment. Let Satish get back his export license. Let Manav continue in his export business, eventually getting his own license and making his business flourish, so that he can properly take care of his family, which will include his and Archana's child.
I know I've said alot, but I feel strongly about what the CVs are doing to Manav's character, and that so many have reacted so negatively towards him. Remember, we have to be there for those we care about not only when they are good or up, but also when they are down and not acting how they normally would and how we expect them to act.
Take care everyone and God bless you all.
