I don't think the issue is about Varsha or Manav, but about a child, infant or otherwise who is the most vulnerable to abuse or mistreated. Who can say Varsha with her temper and rages will not do bad things to the child because the child reminder her of her inadequacies. Who is going to safe guard the child and protect her against abuse. who can guarantee that Varsha will not be in rage again and so something stupid...In the West Varshe could surely go to a temper controlling counselor...there is so much in the West regarding ways to control temper...and what defines that Varsha has suffered enough...is it enough to realize after the fact...will she give up her career once she gets the baby...realities are much different than fantasies...and child raising is no jokes...scarifies are involved...In the case of Varsha I find Satish and her MIL most understanding.

About Manav...I found him acting as any average Indian could...Indian tend to always gives more info. than necessary...he could have just remained with providing the correct answers required from him no more no less...and then the onus could be on the AA to do their homework...But saying the minimum thing is a West thing people are coached to achieve this...So Manav here is remarkably Indian.

The fact about lying...This isn't like lying to a cancer patient who is dying in the next week and telling him he will live for the next 6 yrs...here babies who can't protect themselves are involved...so lying is not an option.

To me Manav even unknowingly did the right thing...I say Go Manav go.

i would have called him foolish if he would have lied knowingly ...
(Heck , if manav knew what Varsha wanted him to do , i would have preferred that he backed out and asked her to choose another guarantor..)
I am glad he unwittingly spoke the truth...
Irritating , cranky and fickle as she is , what riles me even more about varsha , that she doesnt even feel the least bit guilty or responsible for what has happened ... she finds it much easier to blame the entire fiasco on manav...
