I wonder how there can be such different remembrances of the story line....or if all of us who don't like Jaywant imagined his ulterior motives and thoughts, and those who do like him, ignored them. 😆

It might make a good study in human nature....

I think the creatives switched his character around, now he's completely evil for sure. But I think back then they were trying to show him as just a career-minded person who also would have wanted a good wife (and Archu is since she's loyal to her man but that's not him😆)

I'm trying to remember but the story has moved so forward that its just a blur. But when Dharmesh first told him about the rishta at his house, Jaywant told him that he would think about it. Then he went in his car and thought that he could say yes but he also wanted Archana's raazi as well. He thought at that point that in order for a marriage to succeed, you need both parties ready; he also thought about being a partner in that D&S company but he also thought right afterward that it wasn't worth it to put himself in a one-sided relationship where he would care for her and not her for him for the rest of their lives. That I remember specifically because in one of Kool's Commentaries, she did a comparison of that statement with Shravani (i think?) who wanted Manav to be only hers regardless if he loved her or not. Jaywant, after Archana proposed to him, tried to transition himself and her in this new relationship but drama after drama happened concerning Manav until Jaywant couldn't take it knowing that he had started to care for her somewhat but she was still fixated on her ex. So now he's going to ruin her and still try to get the company because she messed up his life (unconsciously I think) when she didn't have to.

So in the beginning, he was pretty patient and understanding, but somewhere along the way he went over to the dark side!

hi guys
Soo, if several of you saw jaywant as a good person at first and then changed, it must have been portrayed that way, and i stand corrected !! 😳 Maybe i missed some episodes, or ..for sure it's hard when i don't understand the hindi.. and now can't watch on tv w/the subtitles so....i really appreciate those who do the written updates in english other wise i couldnt watch at all !!! But, sometimes some important points get missed... Still, i do remember (unless i DID create it in my mind) what i took to be duplicitous behavior/thoughts in the very beginning.

so now my question is this: if he really WAS a good guy and then now is so bad, how does one change his character over one incident? 😲 i mean we've all been disappointed in life...turned down, betrayed...yet even though hurting we remain basically the same person before and after...unless it was so life shattering betrayal at the deepest level that we couldn't recover ...and i don't think jaywant's situation was that shattering....

anyhow, i apologize if i stepped on any toes of the Jaywant fan club. 😭

I like this discussion we're having😆

The reason why his character changed basically was because the creatives wanted to show him as really bad and Manav as really good so that Archy would go to Manav instead

It happened slowly with little things like Archana inviting Manav to her engagement but Jaywant went nuts after she sent him, Dharmesh, Satish, and herself in jail to save Manav I think. He realized that Archu will never get over Manav even though she had said that she had and that hurt his ego badly

Ofcourse it was life shattering for Jaywant... It would be for anybody if their to be wife runs away on the wedding day... Anyone in his position would be sooo hurt and will go to any extent to hurt the others back now and Jaywant should go ahead and teach Archu and Manav a lesson... They cant just go about hurting anyone and everyone around them just because they have found their soo called love... Love is never soo selfish...

There must be two different versions of PR then. In the one that i have been watching Archu's parents forced the marriage on Archana...one she said she definitely didn't want, saying she would be happy with Manav's memory...but they went to Manav to persuade her to accept the marriage "for her future".. she only finally reluctantly agreed because she wanted to please Manav. (which was wrong in my opinion)

Look i don't want to get into an argument over this... if you like Jaywant, thats fine,. that's your privilege...i only wrote in the first place because i felt your facts of the history were incorrect. Everyone has their own ideas and God forbid we should all think the same.. for your sake, if you have identified with the Jaywant person, i hope he reforms and becomes a nice person. from my perspective i think he is a scoundrel.

Glad you are watching anyway, sorry you were disappointed with the track 😊

pooh is definitely watching a different version

Not a different version... Im watching it without being blindly in love with Archu and Manav... I like characters who are a lot more real... and Jaywant seems to be the one in PR... In real life, u'll never see characters like Archu or Manav... Way too fake !!!
