I agree with both your options. the frienship scenario is just demeaning. to me anyways.


All the things that he was asking for -the sahara, the understanding, the sounding board - these are things men in INDIA should get from wife. It is like he wants to have his cake and eat it too. I mean I really like this characther but even I can see the friendship thing is a lame excuse of maintaing the status quo. Sav aai said the right thing in the May 2 epi he wants to have a relationship with both women.

Arre if all her wonderful traits are not good enough for her to remain youur wife then why should you get all these perks that other men don't get from girls who are just their friends.


I wonder though if her stopping hte divorce would be alegally allowable. see she stopped it once so teh courts gave him time to think. if even after 3 months he is adamant then her wanting to eb married to him will not impact the judge's decision. because then his refusal is grounds for irreconciable differences and the three month period will eb considered as proof that these differences cannot be addressed. anyways in PR land even this logic might not prevail. who knows???

you are also correct about the western option. and let me tell you when these couples get a so called "amicable divorce" their relationship is limited to kids wellbeing or stuff like that which resutls in their prolonged association even after divorce. if they wanted to be one anothers best pals they would not get divorced. I have yet to meet a couple even in the west who are friends after divorce because they like one another. most of these people are inadvertandtly firendly with one another as a measure of tolerance while they go about meeting their post marital obligations i.e. alimony, kids, pets, etc. And I am not talkign about hollywood couples but the average Joe in NA. With hollywood relatiosnhips it might start out as love but is usually guided or maintained for publicity reasons. rarely do you have true commitment in hollywood marriages. I can only name a few. i.e. antonio banderas and wife, godlie hawn and kurt russell, maybe brangelina but then again they are not married - thigns might change for them after the rings go on.

Also I lived in middle class mumbai. NO WAY are marriages broken for this flimsy a reason. NO WAY. Arre for a marriage to break (which in itself is still abig social stigma and not a glorified event as they have portrayed it in PR) it has to be something drastic. i.e. domestic abuse. barren wife or sterile/impotent man or something that is so difficult to accept that there is no other choice but to break the marriage. never in all my years have I seen middle class indian marriages break for this dumb a reason. i have seen couples adopt their neices and nephews . I have seen girls being made to abort the kid to deal with situations like this. but never seen a working marriage break for this reason. it is beyond ridiculous. it is stupid.

I agree that when the commitment was made Manav thought divorce was a done deal and he was free but since then situation has drastically and dramatically changed. the families in India would never let the dude take such a decision. people always boast that there are no divorces in their family. they boast about this even when the couples are miserable and still won't get a divorce, hai na? whenever I meet couples in India , I mean firends, they will proudly tell you oh we have been married for X number of years as a n achievement. even thought hey are not the most happiest of couples. thsi is just plain silly.

If the friendship thing is not intended as a red herring then this exactly the direction she is going in. I am so glad that I will nto eb around to see this as if the divorce goes through i am asta la vista from everything PR😊

I wanted to put my soon for dance too. he wants to do tap. let us see if there is enought time, currently between me and hubby. hubby has more flexible work schedule toh bechara he is the one always rushing them to activities. that is why I do not enroll mien in too many as it wil be anotehr chore for hubby.😭😭

In my humble if Archu is considered cheap in accepting to be other woman while being married just because her so called husband has agreed to marry other woman...And that is without his current wife's consent....Hmmmm
