TODAY, I am incensed and enraged. Yesterday I was outraged and shocked to learn that the DIVORCE WILL HAPPEN.!!
Enough is Enough. This is just PLAIN WRONG for so many reasons:
It is happening for the WRONG REASONS ' they are not shown to be divorcing because of irreconcilable differences. They are shown to be divorcing to fix the problems of an irresponsible immature third party. At someone's whim and fancy. Wrong, Wrong, Wrong!!!
It is the WORST KIND OF MESSAGING ' to our children, to us, to non-Indian viewers.
o What does this say about Indian society, that we are lame-brained or that we are regressive, I am still not sure if which one is the bigger insult to us as a people , as a community, as a society.
o What does this say about God/ Bappa/ Allah, whatever we may call him, that the divine can be impotent in the face of the actions of a mere mortal and that trust in "Him" and intercession to "Him" is futile and so we should not bother. This goes against any religious doctrine and is demoralizing when depicted through characters like Archana and Manav who are supposedly ardent devotees .
o What does this say about the holy sacrament/institution of matrimony ' You can break a SACRED VOW (a commitment by man to God to honour, cherish, protect his wife - taken in front of God's Agni) in order to keep a promise made by one man to another man to accept a responsibility (marked only by the exchange of peda and naryal and not blessed by the sacred AGNI). Is there even a comparison? There is no balance.
o What does this say about a child's irresponsible actions- GO AHEAD. Be irresponsible, be immature you will have to PAY NO PRICE.
It is the biggest disrespect to the WISHES of a LOYAL FAN BASE ' we did not sign up for a ghissa pita formula, we signed up for something unique, something special, to see a lead-pair chemistry that was unparalleled and unrivalled in Indian TV. If we wanted to see a story about friends we would have seen "Do Saaheliyan". If we wanted to see a two wives scenario, we would have caught re-runs of Kasam Se or seen other TV soaps like "Saajan Ghar Jana Hai". NO, we wanted to see ArMan's Pavitra Rishta. Every poll, every post, every forum thread shows this. So going against this would only mean disrespect.
