Firstly to answer the actual post, I wouldn't call Archana a "liar", but like the others I will say she is confused. She doesn't know what to believe. Yes, although I am still pretty mad at her for not believing Manav and for being such a cold/rude person towards him afterwards, I will admit that her situation was confusing.
As for the relationship with Manav's family, she never really broke that. She never had anything against Savita even if she was a monster-in-law many times. She loved the Deshmukh family as her own family and she still considered them as her own, as it was Manav who (seemingly) was the pimp, not the rest of the family. Now yes, the Karanjkar family as a whole had problems with most of the Deshmukhs (they didn't really have anything against Kaka and Vandita), but Archana never really did.
For her relationship with Manav, I think even the writers/creatives were confused as to what to portray. (For her going for the divorce, I think that she felt like Manav wanted it because he doubted her, so it made her determined to go along with the divorce as well. After her "awakening" I don't think she wants it anymore but will do it for Manav.)
When the proof against Manav was presented ArMan were about 3 weeks into their relationship and still quite shy. I rewatched a lot of ArMan scenes today and most of them were the most insignificant actions ever (when compared to general pati-patni romance on tv) such as shy glances and awkward moments that they were usually put into involuntarily. Yes they were special, and the love and trust was obvious to us, but it might have been easy (from what we had seen at that point) for Archana to pass it off as an infatuation because...
In September it seemed like Archana was just falling in love when all that drama happened and thus her turning her back on Manav made sense to quite an extent. Even her mean behavior afterwards made sense as afterall, how well did she even know this guy? She tried it out with him, as per usual, at her aai's request to give it her best shot. I think at that point anyone would believe PICTURE proof of someone (even their "husband") being a brothel-frequenting, characterless man who slept around quite a bit.
But then, after a few months of having us believe the above, all of the sudden a loving side of Archana comes out along with flashbacks, and this is where the confusion comes in that kshre25 explains quite well...

I dont' know if I'd call her a liar, I think she's just one really confused woman. And I think we are starting to become confused with her. For example when they first showed the twist of false evidence against manav, we were under the impression that ArMan had only been living together for a month and were barely starting to know each other. In that case it is somewhat believable that Archana, given evidence, might believe that her husband has cheated her.
Now with all the recent developments, they have been saying that those two had stayed together for two months and the flashback about the FD's and kids, has shown them to be closer to each other than what most viewers understood.
I guess what i'm trying to say is that first of all I think we're confused in terms of the status of their relationship.
Secondly, I think that Archana still loves her husband deeply but given the evidence couldn't decide what to do. Pictures are worth a thousand words. In her heart she couldnt' completely accept it, but the decision was made for her by her family because of those pictures. The navratri pooja, showed this to, when she came back she was trying to tell her whole family that Manav is innocent and that she feels it, but was overruled by her family.
It is unclear, with recent flashbacks as to where ArMan's relationship was before this whole separation track. If we were clear on that, i think we as viewers would be able to digest the facts of the separation and Archana's action accordingly.
We see these flashbacks which make the situation more confusing. The first one I remember was the tablet one, where Manav tells Archana to keep his tablets as she will always be there with him. Then we see the most recent one where they're talking about FDs and having children and hugging. Those a) changed the viewers beliefs on how close they were, because those scenes mean that ArMan were emotionally and rather physically intimate/comfortable before the day before the Satyanarayan pooja (we had been believing that that was the day when the rishta was really made from BOTH sides) and b) change Archana's situation.
So after setting both scenarios up, the September version and the December version, we can look at Archana's situations from both standpoints. Either way she loved Manav, but the deepness of it and the effect on the viewers changes.
September version:
Archana was in love with Manav, and we know it, but because of its newness she was able to pass it off as a bad dream. This version makes it easier to understand why she left him after seeing the proofs. When she tried to believe in Manav's innocence (due to the goodness she had seen in him), she was told off as an infatuated fool by her family. Then came the divorce papers with Manav's accusation which made it worse for her. With this version, Archana finally realized her love when she had to think of being with another man (Satish) and is now acting upon it.
December version:
This version makes it harder to understand why Archana left Manav, but we can assume that she momentarily swayed as they were pictures and then her family had a large role in convincing her. She also KNOWS how good Manav is and that she loves him, but the proofs are getting to her. She remains unsuccessful in convincing herself but tries to regardless, even though the love is still there, she wants to avoid further conflict. The rest is the same as the September version, with the divorce papers making matters worse but in this version Archana (when the Satish rishta comes) realizes that it may be getting too late now, and that if she loves Manav she'll have to go back. She knows that she loves him, but she realizes that she'll never stop and that he is her life... so on and so forth.
The ArMan fan version (what the creatives would like us to think and what I like to think to make it easier):
Archana and Manav always have and will love each other. Archana was really dumb to leave Manav as she loved and trusted him and he was a good guy. A bit of hate on Archana for being cold with Manav after she left and for never listening to him. Now she thankfully refused Satish and her aai and finally lets her love for Manav out. Sequences and logic ko maro goli because that flashback was cute and this is all doesn't matter too much in the end, because as time passes these previous events become less and less significant.
Sooo my point with all of that is that the confusion is being created by conflicting viewpoints and scenarios as presented by the ever forgetful creatives. Either way, Archana always loved Manav but has really just been confused for conflicting reasons, which confuses us.
Most of this isn't really at you puredesi21, but just in general.
Shooot that was long, I need to learn how to be more concise! 😆
