Yes, Manav's is a likable and pitiable character for many reasons, but one thing I strongly dislike about him is how he always tries to please everybody -- such a person often ends up pleasing nobody. OK... there's no harm in pleasing people but in a situation where someone is clearly wrong, it's necessary (and expected of you) to have a firm stand against them, if you have strong moral principles and courage.
It's high time Manav understood his aai is greedier than a pig, her mouth stinks worse than a pan of cr*p and her mind is filthier than a septic tank. Savita is number one
nautankibaaz, any relations with such a crude and ill-mannered person would shame me to death. Manav (and the whole family) was naive enough to not see that the woman was just doing her characteristic
nautankis to make him sign those papers. He gets swayed so easily: as soon as she starts her emotional blackmail he gives in. In his whole life he hasn't learned that the best way to straighten her out in these situations is to just ignore her.
I wouldn't blame Manav if he believed Archana and Satish were in a relationship -- in fact, it's only too natural and rational to think so -- and said to himself "enough is enough". But, he doesn't believe so, yet is not strong enough to decidedly tell Savita that he is not going to sign any papers.
The bottom line is:
In certain situations, it's NOT really nice to be nice and niceness is equivalent to weakness.Edited by mind-googling - 15 years ago
