Part 23

Neil was in his room, discussing something important with his men. “Are you sure Rony?” Neil asked from his most trustworthy man now after Mickey. “Yes bhai, as soon as the news of Lala being murdered by you yesterday was out Patnaik and Ismail are planning to attack us directly fearing for their life. My men have confirmed this news. They also know about Mickey now. They know that most of our men are either dead or not available to us right now because they are busy protecting our businesses. It will take time to call all of them here. So we are kind of in vulnerable state right now.They want to take advantage of it.” Rony informed.

“Hmm….how many men we have right now and what about arms and bullets?” Neil asked. “Only 25 men left here and we have guns but are short of bullets…looks like Mickey purposely didn’t stock up the arms and ammunition to leave us unprotected. ”Rony informed. “Whatever it is….this time I will not run away. I am ready for them…chahe main end mein akela hi kyu na bachu…main akela hi ladta rahunga….this time I am gonna finish them off once and for all.” Neil said determinedly. “Neil bhai, ek bar phir soch lete…it’s a suicide mission to face them alone. Lets leave this place and we will come back to take revenge.” Rony tried to persuade him.

“No Rony, is bar aar ya paar ki ladai hokar rahegi. Tell our men about the situation very clearly. And let them know if they want to leave they can. I wont endanger their life for my revenge. I will fight alone if I have to.” Neil replied. “I have already told them everything. Each one is willing to give their life for you. I know its difficult to trust anyone now but give us a chance to serve you…you have done a lot for us and our families….we are not like that Mickey. We will never betray you.” Rony pledged his support to Neil. “Ok, get ready then. They can come anytime.” Neil agreed.

“What is happening here? Why you look so tensed and what are you doing?” Mini asked as Neil came inside her room and started packing her clothes. “You are going to Dubai. One of my men will leave you at airport.” Neil told her. “What? But why?And what about you?” Mini asked confused. “This place is not safe anymore. Patnaik and Ismail can attack anytime. I am staying here. I will not go away this time without finishing them. Once the work is done here I will join you in Dubai in some days.” Neil informed. “What …attack…on us….but…you don’t have enough men with you…..No….no you are not staying here alone…..” Mini tried to protest but Neil interrupted her. “Certain tasks cant be left unfinished. I left them the first time but now their story needs to be finished. I have arranged everything in Dubai. Naeem bi will join you there and she will take care of your and our baby. If everything goes fine then I will also join you there but….if I couldn’t make it….then don’t worry….I have made sure that you’ll have enough to live and give our baby a comfortable life…..Naeem bi will let you know everything…..” Neil was interrupted by Mini when she hugged him. “Neil, what are you saying? Mini asked getting emotional all of a sudden. “Just shut up! And do as I say.” Neil pushed her away.

“That’s the problem with you always. You just don’t listen to me.” Mini shouted. Neil took a deep breath. He wanted to say many things, do many things but he knew he didn’t have much time….Mini should be sent to the safe place any how. “I don’t wanna involve in any argument….If I managed to reach there safe then we will have all the time to fight but…if not….then….tell my baby…that his father loved him very much and….I want you to know…..I have always….always… loved you….no matter what has happened between us….you were, are and always will be in my heart.” Neil kissed on her forehead and before he become week in his resolve he called one of his man and asked to go with Mini.

“Are you sure we doing the right thing…this is so unplanned and….” Patnaik put his doubt forward. “Anna and Dhawan got killed in police raids because of Neil and he killed Lala himself now only we two are left….what are you waiting for? This is the right time to attack. That Mickey has also died….anyways he was not of much help and definitely not trustworthy…first he helped us and now he sided with Lala alone….but due to his death Neil Oberoi is alone now. I have confirmed news that not many men left with him….isse pehle ki wo bhaag jaye aur phir se kuch saalo baad badla lene ke liye wapas aaye…hume use khatam kar dena chahiye….we must take advantage of his vulnerable situation…..aur bhulo mat…opposition party se bhi sari setting ho chuki hai….yaha ruling party ki govt. giri aur waha hume police se bhi chhutkara mil jayega.” Ismail explained.

Meanwhile Hanuman Singh was at police headquarters with his team. He was worried after the latest change of events that has took place. Mini stopped visiting city hospital could only mean two things either she has changed sides and now with Neil or she is caught. Then he also heard that Neil Oberoi’s right hand man got killed. Two of the mafias Patnaik and Ismail still left…and now this news about the ruling political party has left him confused about what to do and what not to do.

“Sir ji, are you sure our team and this mission will be disbanded if ruling party fails the floor test?” Inspector Bobby asked. “Yes Bobby, I have confirmed news that opposition party is bringing the no confidence motion against ruling party tomorrow as they are garnering public support by speaking against the violence in Mumbai and ruling party’s incompetence to deal with it. Opposition has also bought some of ruling party’s MLA to support them. They have challenged ruling party to prove their strength in the assembly.” Hanuman Singh replied.

“How it will affect our mission sir?” Preet asked. “Preet, opposition is backed by minority community. Ismail had lent monetary support to them. If they win tomorrow then they will form govt. and disband our mission obviously to oblige Ismail as police raids have already caused much loss to all the mafias.” Hanuman explained. “That means we cant do anything now....and what about Mini?” Preet asked again. Hanuman was about to say that he don’t have any answer when he got a call. He saw it and found that it was an unknown number from landline.

“Hello, Hanuman Singh ji…this is me Mini.” Hanuman Singh was shocked for sometime but then he quickly asked her what happened and how is she. Mini told him everything from how she got caught and how Neil killed Mickey as he turned out to be a back stabber to him. And how Neil is not in a strong position now and Patnaik and Ismail are planning to attack him anytime now. “But where are you? Are you safe?” Hanuman asked. “Neil was sending me to Dubai but I ran away from the airport. I am telling you the address please send someone and take me from here.” Mini replied.

Hanuman Singh immediately sent Preet to help Mini. She brought her to the headquarters. Mini saw there that Hanuman Singh was doing preparations like he was also going on some raid. “What are you upto?” Mini asked. “I have decided that we will also raid at Neil’s mansion with our police force. We don’t have time. Tomorrow most probably the govt. will fall and then our mission will be suspended. Ye mafias bach niklenge hamare haath se….What information you have given us Mini is very valuable. We will have all three of them…Patnaik, Ismail and Neil under same roof. We can finish them off.” Hanuman Singh replied and ordered everyone to double check the weapons and bullets. He then addressed the large police force to organize for final summary. Mini interrupted him, “I will also come with you.”

“No, it will be a dangerous mission. I cant allow you…” Hanuman said but Mini held his hand. “This is not only your mission alone. I have contributed equally to it. I have provided all the information…I have fulfilled my promise now its time for you to fulfill your promise….remember? you promised me….only I will kill Neil Oberoi.” Mini reminded him. “How could I ever forget what you have done for us…for this mission…in fact without you this mission was not possible and I didn’t forget my promise.” Hanuman Singh said and then instructed the force that no one will target Neil Oberoi till he gives them orders. “Happy now, only you will get to kill him.” He asked and Mini nodded in yes wiping her tears. “Thank you so much for trusting me.” Mini said. “You have risked your everything for this mission….I can do this much for you.” Hanuman assured her.

Soon Patnaik and Ismail attacked Neil’s mansion with their goons. They came in open jeeps. They were firing blindly everywhere from their latest guns. Neil ordered his men for counter attack. They were only 25 of them but since they knew about the attack they were well prepared and hiding themselves. They hid the mines and bombs around the whole garden area and as soon as the jeeps came in contact with them they were blasted killing a lot of their men at once. Then Neil’s men knew the place very well they were at upper hand and they were firing on others hiding behind the key positions from where they could see others but were not visible to them. Patnaik was leading some men inside the bunglow as he got glimpse of Neil inside. Neil very smartly lured him inside and then threw a grenade at them. All his men were killed except one and Patnaik also somehow managed to run in time. Patnaik immediately ran outside to call more men but Neil blocked his way finally appearing in front of him. Patnaik’s man tried to protect him but Neil handled him easily and then cornered Patnaik. “I am sorry. Please don’t kill me. We can be friends and I will help you in finishing off Ismail.” Patnaik offered. “Tum jante ho Patnaik tum kabhi don kyu nahi ban paye…kyunki tumhe hamesha dusro ki help ki jarurat padi hai…kabhi unke sath haath mila karto kabhi unhe dhoka dekar aage badhna tumhari fitrat hai…tum kabhi akele kuch nahi kar paaye.” Neil replied and before Patnaik could even say any other word Neil shot him in the head.

Ismail called more men and finally his men overpowered Neil’s men. Now only few of Neil’s men were left and Ismail still had lot of them. Neil saw Ismail and was about to target him when Ismail's men attacked him and held him on the gun point. Neil and all his men were now surrounded by Ismail and his goons. “Toh aa hi gaya uth pahad ke neeche…bahut pareshan kiya tune Neil Oberoi….jis din tune mere bhai ko maara tha usi din se maine decide kar rakha tha ki teri maut to mere hi haatho hogi.” Ismail said and pointed his gun at Neil but suddenly police force came there and Hanuman Singh ordered to fire at the goons. Everyone again got scattered saving their life and Neil took advantage of the situation and and hide in the mansion. Many goons were killed in police attack.

When the firing finally stopped there were several dead and injured people scattered on the ground. Hanuman noticed that Ismail and Neil were nowhere to be seen. “Find Ismail and Neil, they must be hiding somewhere in the house.” Hanuman ordered. Some police men started searching for them in the house while some got busy in identifying the dead and injured people as ambulances were called on the spot. Hanuman called Mini who was sitting outside in the police jeep only. “You can come in, everything is under control here. Neil is hiding somewhere in this house only…..now I give you the chance…you can take your revenge.”

Mini came inside she was moving towards Hanuman when suddenly out of nowhere Ismail jumped in front of her and held her at gun point. “Officer, drop your weapons or I will kill this girl.” Ismail warned Hanuman. Seeing that Ismail has Mini at gunpoint Neil also came outside in open from his hideout. “Leave her you motherf***ker or else I will cut you into so many pieces that your family wont be able to even bury your body properly.” Neil warned him. “Oh! finally lover boy came out. I will kill her in front of you mercilessly.” Ismail said but Hanuman interrupted him, “Leave this girl alone…she is innocent she has not done anything to you.” “Then let me get out of here. Officer, ask your men to give me clear passage or else she will die.” Ismail warned and Hanuman Singh ordered all the remaining officers to put down their guns. Ismail took Mini on the gunpoint and sat in a jeep and ran away with few of men who were injured but alive. Before Hanuman Singh could have understood anything Neil jumped on inspector Bobby and held him at the gun point. “Officer, let me also go after Ismail or else I will kill him.” Hanuman nodded in yes worried for Bobby’s life. Neil took him towards another jeep and pushed him hard on the ground then ran followed Ismail’s jeep. Finally Hanuman Singh also sat in a police van with Bobby and Preet and followed them.

The chase ended when Ismail reached tiger hill, a small cliff in the outer skirts of city when his jeep tyre was punctured by the bullet Neil fired at them. Neil also stopped his jeep and jumped out followed by Hanuman and his team. Again there was firing from the goons and the Police. Bobby got hit in the arm and fell down due to which he got head injury and passed out. Preet targeted Neil but he dodged and fired at her. Hanuman saved her by pulling her aside but Neil fired again and this time she got bullet on her leg and fell down writhing in pain. Soon she also passed out due to excessive pain and blood loss.

Mini somehow got free from Ismail’s hold and tried to run towards Hanuman. Ismail looked around all his men were killed. He was alone now. Only four people left, Ismail, Hanuman, Neil and Mini. Ismail saw Mini running towards Hanuman. He pointed his gun towards her but Hanuman saw this and jumped in front of her to save her. Hanuman got hit in his right shoulder and his gun fell down from his hands. “You b***tard! I have got Neil Oberoi today but you ruined everything by coming in between.” Ismail said and kicked Hanuman repeatedly. He shot another bullet in his leg.

“Ispe apna gussa kyu nikal rahe ho? Apni kamjoriyo ko dusre ki galtiyo ke peechhe chhupana toh tumahari purani aadat hai.” Neil said as he came and stood behind Ismail. Ismail turned towards him and Neil punched him in the face repeatedly then before Ismail could stand properly Neil shot him in the stomach.

“Hmm….waise to tumne time par aakar ek tarah se meri help hi ki hai but ho to tum dushman hi…tumhe zinda to nahi chhod sakte.” Neil said and lastly pointed his gun at Hanuman who was already on the ground due to his injuries. But before Neil could have shot him he rolled and kicked Neil at his knees. Neil lost his balance and his gun fell down far away from his reach. Hanuman again rolled and pushed his own gun which was lying near him towards Mini and urged her to take a shot and kill Neil. Mini immediately picked up the gun and pointed it at Neil.

“What are you waiting for Mini? He is in front of you. Take your revenge. You wanted to end this mess right…kill him now you have the chance…end it once and for all.” Hanuman said as he encouraged Mini to shoot after looking hesitation in her eyes. “You have already killed me emotionally by betraying me….now you will kill me physically also? You will kill the only love of your life….the father of your child…what will you tell our child when he will asked how his father died?” Neil asked hurt after seeing Mini has pointed gun at him.

Hanuman was first shocked from the revelation that Mini was really pregnant. But he again encouraged her, “Mini, this is what you always wanted. I have kept my promise. I have left him alive many times even though I had many chances to kill him just to honour my promise. Now you cant disappoint me. Kill him.” Hanuman urged. “All our enemies are dead. You wanted us to have family right? Now its our chance….you, me and our baby…we will live together.” Neil gave her hope. Mini was lost for few seconds as Neil mentioned her dream. Neil tried to come close to her but Mini became alert again. “Neil, don’t come near me. I will shoot you.” Mini warned.

“You will shoot me? Stop this nonsense. We both know you cant do it. You love me so much. Come on now, give me the gun and come to me.” Neil said and extended his hand towards her. Mini looked at his hand and then at Hanuman Singh. “Come to me….jaan…we will be together…forever.” Neil said again and Mini closed her eyes as she become emotional on listening ‘jaan’ from his mouth again. But then she looked at Hanuman Singh again and remembered what she said to him, “Neil will not change ever. This mess will only end with our death.” She wiped her tears quickly and looked with determination towards Neil. She took deep breath and unlocked the gun. She straightened her hands and pressed the trigger firing in Neil’s direction and Hanuman singh finally sighed in relief.

The bullet came out from the gun and hit the target straight into the head, killing him on the spot. Ismail, who was not dead yet and somehow managed to stand up and grab his gun to shoot Neil, was standing just behind Neil and got hit in the head by Mini’s bullet. Neil gasped and turned around to see whom she killed. He then looked back at Mini who had came very close to him and looking right back into his eyes. Hanuman also looked up again, confused what has happened.

Mini put her gun at Neil’s forehead then traced his face with it and stopped at his heart. “Hmm, where do you preferred to get shot Neil Oberoi? In head or in heart?” Mini asked. “You don’t need a gun….jaan…when you can kill me with your eyes.” Neil said and took the gun from her hands easily. A smile broke out on Mini’s lips and soon she started laughing loudly. Neil also started laughing out loud. “You….you scared me for few seconds when you took that shot on Ismail.” Neil said between his laughter. “Just having some fun baby….ye confused, emotionally tormented Mini ka drama karte karte bahut bore ho gayi thi.” Mini replied and giggled. “You naughty girl.” Neil winked at her and pulled her in his arms while Mini took his lips in hers kissing him passionately. Neil also responded with equal vigor while Hanuman looked at them totally stunned.
