The slap !!!

I have seen so many people on Twitter justifying the slap Minnie got

I understand Minnie is headstrong and rebellious but there’s a way to handle a kid like that

We have also seen insight into her character regarding how she is feeling with regards to Babes. I mean I feel like she is over exaggerating with regards to ruining her life but it’s her perception of the situation..and teens are melodramatic at times

I also do get Babitas confusion over the whole soul mates idea cause we know Micky loves Minnie but he has accepted that he will be in the friend zone always (unless CV prove Babita right). However she could have asked everyone to leave and speak with Minnie alone. Instead she started ranting and raving in front of everyone like a crazed woman

So did Minnie deserve the slap ?

Maybe there was a better way to handle the situation ?

Putting the whole physical abuse angle aside, Minnie didn't deserve it. Babita didn't once tell Minnie that she objected to Mickey's staying at the house. She voiced her concerns to HS who just told her to chill out. What she should have done was taken Minnie aside and spoken to her the night of.

In fact, when she had told Minnie to go sleep, she could have spoken to her right then and there since the Khuranas had been busy with Mickey. She could have told her not to be physically close with him or whatever her concerns may be.

If not that, then instead of making him sleep upstairs, she could have made Mickey sleep downstairs on the charpayi. If that was uncomfortable for him, then they could have shifted the diwan downstairs.

Or better yet, she should have just said no in the first place when Preet suggested that Mickey stay back. She could have cited any reason or put her foot down by simply stating it's her house and her rules.

Bottom line is, there were a lot of things that she could have done but she chose not to. And then the things that she did do, she didn't do them so well.

Twitter has become a trash these days for PB ,i don't see a single thoughtful tweet there(atleast i don't)

It's obvious that she didnt deserve the slap, at least not in front of her friends. Whatever may be the reason, physical abuse is something that is totally not acceptable. Not matter how headstrong we may be, we have no rights to hit our children, specially after a particular age. And, I wonder, if boys are beaten this way! It's only the girls! Have you ever seen Mickey get beaten? Nope, because he is the 'man'. Not that, I encourage this, but this is definitely not the right way of explaining and expressing. Babita could have spoken to her in a normal tone rather than yelling. CVs are definitely giving a wrong example...

I completely agree she didn’t deserve the slap but was shocked to see in Twitter the encouragement of ill treatment of Minnie

Some of the posts are just nasty..I get Minnie is annoying due to the over focus on her but that doesn’t mean she deserves physical punishment

I can’t believe some forum members think it’s Preets fault

Preet is a kid. Babes and HS are the adults

HS should have taken Babes aside and they should have discussed. Instead HS takes the decision for both which was completely wrong..he has to remember that Haveli is not just his home any more

Physical violence is not a solution to any problem, nor is it an appropriate method of discipline. Most often than not it has the opposite effect and results in the person becoming more stubborn/rebellious.

In this case, and every other case where mini was slapped by babita, babita seemed to have done it out of HER OWN anger, not even to discipline mini. So in these cases mini was just used as a “punching bag” for babita to vent her own anger at a specific situation.

Perhaps they makers are just showing what exists in relationships between parents and kids in Indian homes and that is how there’s not enough communication about important things. There’s a whole lot of setting the law down, telling younger ppl what to do etc but no real speaking about things/problems.

I personally find it shocking in 2019, they still show slapping kids/ppl as an acceptable response to anger and as an acceptable form of discipline. It’s good that many ppl agree that she should have sat down and had a conversation with mini rather than have an outburst in front of ppl (ironically, babita is so concerned about “what ppl will say” except when she’s having outbursts in front of ppl)

I think that the bigger picture is being missed here and everyone is talking about the slap.

If Mini was so confident about the Soulmate Love which was so pure with Mickey, than why has she lied and hidden the true nature of Romeo Mickey, double dating girls,chasing her and when no interest from her takes up with Preeti, who at least did ask Mini before going with Mickey. Meeting Mickey without Pretti at every possible time, midnight texts and climbing down balconies and falling in his arms at everytime, passionate hug with Mickey when Preeti was there and holding hands behind her back. Is this normal dear dairy. What a cheater and liar to boot to both Babes and Preeti.

Its this that the twitter is getting mad that Mini deserved it and more.

No Babita is not wrong here and like it or not Mini is a lot like Ashok and has many of his traits.

If she is so confident about her pure soulmate than come clean and confess all to Babes about Mickey and herself.
