Part 3

As soon as Kunal reached court, he was surrounded by a group

of chawl-dwellers who were desperately waiting for their

saviour. All the people from the group gave him best wishes

for the hearing.

Kunal: Aap log fikar mat kijiye. Builder ne galat tarah se aapke

chawl ki zameen par

kabza kiya hai. Aaj hum yeh baat prove kar dengein aur aapki

chawl ko ab kuchh nahi hoga..

Just then Thakral entered the court along with few of the

officials from the side of the builder. The officials directly

entered the courtroom. Seeing Thakral, the chawl-dwellers

also left for the courtroom.

Thakral: Kya baat hai Kunal Chopra, pehle toh bas khud hi

jhoote sapne dekhte the, ab duniya ko bhi dikhane lage! Par

jab yeh sapne tootenge tab tum kya karoge?

Kunal: Kaun jhoote sapne dekhta hai aur kiske sapne

tootengein yeh toh court ka faisla aane ke baad hi pata

lagega Thakral sahab.

With this Kunal started to leave but Thakral was not as yet

ready to give in.

Thakral: 3-4 case kya jeet liye aur mere bachchon ko jail

kya bhijva diya, khud ko bahut bada wakeel samajhne lage

ho?? Richa aur Rohit ko toh main bahar nikaal hi lunga.

Par tum sambhal jao, warna tumhaari haalat bhi tumhaari

patni ki tarah...

On hearing Siddhi's names Kunal's anger knew no bounds.

Kunal: ( At the top of his voice ) THAKRAL!!!

Just then the announcement for their case was made. Thakral quickly left the place thanking god for saving him from

this ferocious Kunal.

The court witnessed a heated trial. After all,the biggest

(Thakral) and the best(Kunal) lawyers of the town were

fighting the case against each other. Various evidences from

both the parties were presented. Kunal finally managed

to get the truth out from the officials themselves that

how they had deceived the illiterate poor of the chawl in

signing the contract telling them that it was government's

health scheme!

The judge gave the decision in favour of the chawl-dwellers.

The people erupted in happiness whereas the officials

of the builder and Thakral went out with long faces.

The people gave their blessings to Kunal.

Kunal accepted all the wishes with a smile on his face.

Everybody dispersed after sometime. On coming out Kunal looked at Thakral who had no choice but to prevent direct eye contact with Kunal. He quickly sat in his car and

asked the driver to leave the place immediately. But as soon

as Kunal switched on his phone, his winning smile turned

to worry lines on his forehead. There were 23 missed calls

from home. Only one thought crossed his mind at that

moment, "Siddhi theek toh hai na.." Without losing even a

single minute he called back home.

There was no reply... He got even more tensed. He dialled

Seema's number. She picked up the phone..

Seema: Bhaiya.. Aap jaldi ghar aa jaiye...

Before Kunal could say anything, she hung up the phone.

Kunal took an auto hurriedly and asked the driver to quickly

leave for Chembur and drive as fast as possible.

All the way he was just wishing and praying for Siddhi's well-being. On reaching home he quickly paid the

fare and paced towards home. He found nobody in the hall.

He dropped his files and coat on the sofa and headed

towards his room from where the sound of someone

talking was coming, all the while worried

and a bit frightened over what was waiting for him there.

As soon as he reached the room he was taken by surprise

and was rooted at the door itself. What he witnessed was

probably the most awaited and the most peaceful sight

he had ever seen. He saw two eyes fixed on him.

The eyes he had been waiting so long to open. Yes, it was

Siddhi who had finally woke up from her sleep, now gazing

Kunal as if she had been waiting to see only him since the

moment she came back to her senses. Kunal stood there

looking at her with moist eyes without even blinking once,

a slight smile on his face...
