No he hasnt. I guess he really wants to produce the season 2 but I am not sure he actually intends to do iy. Producing a show is a massive financial risk and he has no experience in doing it

I agree with Silambu! There is a first time for everything. And also he has been seeing what it takes to produce a show. He seems to wanting to produce and direct shows anyway, so why not start with the show which brought him so much fame and won him so many awards. I am sure he wouldn't openly come forward if he does not think he can do it.😃 Lets support whatever decision he intends to take and leave the technicalities of production to him and other parties involved.😉
