Kunal's practice began to do fairly well. He had many big clients coming back to him. at the same time he wasnt only interested in making money. He fought cases for the needy as well and after many years found himself excited by life.
Once again he was fighting a case against thakral. Thakral's client was a major real estate developer who was trying to grab land that belonged to an orphanage. As a part of the case he came to thakral's case.
When he entered the office he noticed a buzz all around. People were whispering and pointing in the direction of siddhi's office. Ramu, the peon he knew from his time at Thakral and Associates told him that someone had got to know about Siddhi's pregnancy and told Thakral who in turn had fired her.
Kunal was disgusted but not surprised to hear that.
Suddenly Richa came from behind and greeted kunal pleasantly. Kunal greeted her coldly and went on to say
Kunal: wow.. your father hasnt changed has he? He fired a brilliant employee like siddhi due to the circumstances in her private life!
Richa: Kunal you know there is no private and professional life.. siddhi would have become a liability for us..
Kunal: Just as i became a liability for you!
Rich: Kunal please dont say that! I still care a lot for you and i know you love me too! PLEASE STOP LETTING YOUR EGO DESTROY OUR LIFE!
Kunal: Richa we dont have a life together so how can i destroy it?
Just then siddhi walked out of the office carrying all her things. She held her head high as she walked out of the office!
Richa: What a girl (jeeringly)
Kunal: Yes! What a girl! (mocking richa). She takes responsibility for her actions and isnt embarrassed about being an unwed mother.
Saying that he left leaving richa dumbstruck.
He saw siddhi standing outside the office. She had a single tear in her eye. He went up to her and offered her a tissue.. siddhi took it slowly and wiped her eyes.
Siddhi: woh kunal aap.. pata nahi meri aankh mein kuch chala gaya tha..
Kunal: You dont always have to be brave.. Now give me some of those things I'll help you carry them.
He went home with siddhi helping her carry her stuff. Siddhi insisted that he have some coffee.
Kunal: SIddhi I have an offer for you!
Siddhi: Offer?
Kunal: Come and work with me in my firm. Work is growing rapidly and i need more hands on board. Let me warn you I wont be able to give you more than half the salary you had with thakral. But you'll have complete professional freedom and will grow a lot as a lawyer
Siddhi: Thanks a lot kunal.. but i know you are only making this offer because you pity me and ...
Kunal started laughing
Kunal: Stop right there vakil sahiba. A. I dont pity you. B. i run a firm and not a charity. I wouldnt have offered you a job if i didnt think you deserved it!
Siddhi: Really?
Kunal: Stamp papaer par likh kar doo?
He picked up a napkin and started writing
"Kunal Chopra certifies that Siddhi Malik is an excellent lawyer and extends her an offer to work with his firm
' So Ms. Malik do you accept my offer? 😉
Siddhi smiled and nodded excitedly And signed the agreement kunal had created on the tissue paper
Surprisingly kunal and siddhi found that they worked very well together. The core principles that each of them valued were the same so was their work ethic! One day siddhi came to kunal to discuss something
Siddhi: Kunal you are fighting the orphanage case pro bono right?
Kunal: Yes! And now dont start giving me lectures on how that doesnt make financial sense and..
Siddhi: Stop right there vakil sahib 😉 I was just saying that i wanted to assist you with that!
Kunal: Oh okie.. Sure!
In the course of their case kunal and siddhi visited the orphanage several times. And siddhi was shocked to see how popular kunal was with the kids. he was a different eprson laughting and smiling wholeheartedly. Siddhi also enjoyed the time she had at the orphanage. She had always loved kids and now as she was expecting her own baby she felt a certain maternal instinct cropping up.
This was also the first case that they were workig on together And they proved to be a rock solid pair. With kunal as the main lawyer and siddhi as second chair they rocked the court proceedings and succeded in winning the case.
After the case there was a major celebration at the orphanage. Both siddhi and kunal had become favourites there. As tehy were leaving siddhi turned to kunal:
Siddhi: Kunal when you are around kids you are a different person.
Kunal: Thats becaause kids are different from normal people. They dont betray you or judge you or play with your emotions.
Siddhi: kunal the whole world isnt bad
Kunal: maybe it isnt but when the person you love betrays you it is easy to be cynical! But you are right. Because of my attitude i have done injustice to many people including you.
Siddhi: Me?
Kunal: Yes i disliked you without knowing you and thought you werent good enough for anand. I am sorry about that.
Siddhi: Thats all right. You werent my fav person either 😛 Anyhow thats all in the past. Can we be friends now?
Kunal: Yes
PRECAP: Siddhi: Hello!
Kunal: HI.. woh siddhi.. main yaha.. woh.. why does she always hurt me..
SIddhi: Kunal? Are you all right!
Kunal: No.. siddhi i know i shdnt .. maybe i am bothering.. but can you please come here.. i really need someone to talk to..
Siddhi: Sure Kunal! Tell me where you are.. I'll just come there..
