Well I m here to let u all know about the DT's displeasure on the changing atmosphere in the forum ..The forum's been going through a bit of a rough phase ever since the show took an (avoidable) turn for the worst/best .. Everything from repetitive topics to member/character/actor bashing to the use of inappropriate words/comments , members taking pot shots at each others and (sometimes) negative topics has been prevalent in the forum ,, this is so not done & I do understand the frustration/anger that is being felt by all of us at the way the show is shaping up .. Parichay used to b such a lively forum with healthy discussions & members respecting each other views .. so I'm hoping that a little reminder here will help us in reestablishing the productive forum environment..
Negativity & Repetitiveness
Members are allowed to criticize and voice their dislike for certain aspect(s) of the show.. but the same thing is not allowed in repetition .. there is a place (or a thread) for each type of discussion and bringing up the seemingly "negative" aspects of the show in EVERY thread becomes redundant after a while... Not to mention, it's considered spamming ... Just as we dont allow other topics such as promos , precaps, updates, SBS/SBB threads to b repetitive ..the same way criticism of the show with respect to the SAME points is also not appreciated in every thread ...
In an attempt to dissolve this issue, we have opened a "Parichay Frustration Thread" so that members can vent out all theri frustrations there & just as repetitive topics for cricitism aren't allowed, the same goes all the leap articles/topics or topics directed 2wards the CVs.. while we understand that members need to discuss about it but we cant carry out the same discussion on & on in every thread,, this is also considered spamming.. We have multiple threads already posted to discuss Leap so kindly carry out ur discussions there only instead of creating a new thread everyday ... Currently we have a Save Parichay/Leaps discn here-posted and The Parichay Frustration Thread ,, so it will be appreciated if members would continue to discuss there instead of making new topics ..
Character/Actor Bashing
This has quite honestly been our biggest concern in these past two mnths ..
I really want you all to understand the difference between Bashing & Criticism & just as i mentioned in the Frustration thread i am mentioning here too ..
Everyone has the right to voice their opinions in this forum. As long as the comment doesn't border on bashing - i.e. insulting an actor's appearance or being harshly rude about a character without due reason - people are entitled to have opinions different than our own. Just because someone voices their dislike for some aspect of the show/character doesn't mean they can be accused of "spreading negativity".. It just means that they have a different perspective - one that makes for an interesting discussion.. So I urge everyone to keep an open mind and be accommodating of differing opinions.
If, however, you feel that someone is being unjustly harsh about some aspect of the show, please PM us (the DT) instead of calling out their seemingly harsh behavior yourself.. Sometimes it happens that what seems like "bashing" or an attempt at "spreading negativity" to us in a conversation, is actually just a difference of opinion. But by being confrontational, we end up making matters worst than they need to be - things get blown out of proportion and people get hurt. So please bring any concerns you might have to our attention and we'll look into them .. & I would also like to mention one thing ,, Many members have been objecting to usage of words like Dumb, Idiot , Stupid , Fool as bashing ,, though these words would not be counted as bashing as they are used in almost every forum or our daily life in convos with each other ... but usage of words like "WIMP , B*t*h , W*F , W*H " .. wont be tolerated at all ... & If members found to be using these in discussion would not be issued warning notes but warnings instead ...
Difference of Opinions
We have got many complaints about members imposing their views on others .. Every member is allowed to express their opinions & one should respect that ,, if a certain member doesn't like it they should just ignore it or discuss it out in a healthy way & should not by any mean impose their views on others ,, & this goes 4 both the parties in the discussion .. Plzz do not take pot shots at other members or get personal during a discussion .. Any speech direct or indirect, which constitutes a personal attack against another member is not allowed .. & if a member is found to b doing this, it would result in get his/her Warning Level increased without any notice ..
Usage of CAPS
It has come to my notice that members have been using CAPS in their discussion & I have already reminded b4 countless times that using CAPS is considered as Rude & Shouting in NET ... So , Kindly refrain 4rm using CAPS in discussion ...
Usage of Report Button
Though I appreciate members making use of the Report button but it is out of my understanding that why posts are being reported when already action has been taken over it ... I guess Mass PMs are being sent to members to Report a particular post ... So it is my requests that when Mass PMs are being sent/recieved ,,members kindly check whether action has been taken on that post or not ... I recieved about 10 reports 4 a comment of which I had already taken action the previous day... & this has also happened b4 that i receive reports 4 posts where i have already taken action ...
Having said that ,,4rm nw on If i recieve a Report 4 a post where i have already taken action ,,that member would recieve a warning instantly ,, so if u recieve a PM to report a post make sure that u check b4 reporting ..
Last but not the least thanxx to all the members who made use of the REPORT button .. We appreciate your help and your patience in the matter - since we can't be everywhere all the time, it was a great help to be "alerted" to any issues that might have needed to be addressed..
So Members ,, Plzz go through these reminders carefully & understand it ... coz just like i mentioned above that 4rm nw If i find any rules broken I wont be issuing notes but rather i will be raising Warning Levels ..
