Chapter 24 - Siddhi goes to meet Kunal in his hotel room

Within half an hour after a swift change of clothes, and hoppig into her car driving at a record speed but within the legal limit, Siddhi was at Shangri La -hotel all flustered for her meeting with Kunal.

He had some nerve to threaten her ! She was so angry that she could hit him on his head for his arrogance and assumption that she will go running at his call !

"Well you are here aren't you? that little voice was mocking her which she chose to ignore.

She looked around her and was just about to approach, the reception when the phone rang again.

Before she could say anything , Kunal's said in a curt voice " Take the lift up to the Presidental Suite. "

"Kunal, listen, I don't know what game you are playing now and ... " he hung up before she could finish her sentence, leaving her staring at the phone in disbelief. He was just incredibly stubborn full of attitude.!

An inner voice said, Just get it over and done with. She walked with stiff legs but checked around her, if there were any familiar faces. She didn't want to be caught by any of his people going up to his room at this hour on Friday night - Happy hour time!

She walked into the elevator and pressed the lift button to the top floor. Only the Rich and famous could afford such exclusive suites and this new Kunal certainly fits into that category.

The lift door opened with a swish , to a massive door..She rang the door bell and within seconds, doors opened automatically.

She was in a big room. It looked like a living room . She slowly ventured further and there sitting comfortably cross legged on the elegant sofa ,nursing a drink in his hand ...was Kunal.! Well, well, well. He looked perfectly at home.!

A different Kunal. He top shirt buttons were undone. She could see a glimpse of dark chest hair ,exposed by the undone buttons. He looked all dark , dangerous and ruthlessly sexy.

He was watching her walk towards him , his eyes fully appraising on her and for a moment she almost fumbled because the way he was staring at her with such intense , she felt a little giddy, her heart beating in quick palpitations. She never thought she will be seeing him again in such situation outside her sensual dreams. And to hide her heightened sensitive nerves, her body recognising the lover, she lifted her chin to gear up courage from somewhere to face him.

" What do you want Kunal that you had to summon me ?Do you have any idea what time is it now?" She asked him rudely, using this time to compose and distract herself from gaping at him awestruck like a teenager.

In answer, Kunal swirled the drink in his hand and brought the glass to his lips, slowly swallowing it in one gulp and completely ignoring her question . The way his throat moved, did strange things to her stomach. Why was she noticing all these little things. ?

He put the the glass on the table next to him with a soft thud.

He didn't get up but from his sitting position, he gestured the deep chair opposite him for her to sit which she ignored Siddhi shook her head impatiently with her arms folded in front of her defensively " Kunal, please , I am not here to visit you to have small talk. So tell me what is so important, that you had to drag me here in middle of the night?"

"You better sit down as this will take quite a while." Kunal said in a deep voice.

"I prefer to stand." Siddhi said adamantly with stubbornness

"Well, too bad, I don't like to talk with people standing over me. We could do the easy way . You take your seat graciously or the hard way - I do it for you. Take your pick. You have 10 seconds from now." Kunal said warningly and his eyes glittering with a promise that he will do exactly what he just said.

Well what a Bully! Always had been one.

" Now you listen..."Siddhi said with an indignation anger rising.

"10, 9,8,7...6 " Kunal started counting ,looking at his wrist watch. At the same time, he rose up from his seat getting prepared to do what he said. She quickly sat opposite him without any argument before he just did that.

" That's better. Now, that's wasn't so difficult was it?" Kunal asked Siddhi,.

" Stop behaving like a discipline master!" Siddhi glared at him.

" Then stop behaving like a naughty school girl asking to be spanked" Kunal retorted back softly and walked over to the drinks cabinet as if nothing happened . He really has changed. Once he would have stood there arguing with her but now he spoke less but with lots of acidity and punch.

"What would you like to have...Soda? Coke? Wine? " Kunal raised his eyebrows , looking at enquiringly.

" No, thank you. I am fine. Can we get on with this please." Siddhi said tightly.

Kunal took a glass, filled it with ice cubes and carried a bottle of lime Perrier Carbonatated water and put it before her on the low coffee table.

He walked over to where he was sitting and leaned back comfortably on the sofa, crossing his right leg over his left, his right feet, resting on his left knee. He looked very dominant , a force to be reckoned with and very aggressive, ready to pounce on his prey. Siddhi!

With the shirt button undone...the dark stubble on his jaw, which by the way was making him look so irresistible , and his sleeves folded at his elbows... he was looking HOT HOT HOT in capital letters.

Her palms were turning sweaty and she realized she was twiddling her fingers . Quickly she ordere herself to control and kept herself busy. She opened the bottle and poured the drink into the glass and pretended not to be affected with him sitting so close to her. How she did it without shaking, god knows.!

"You look different." Kunal said suddenly in deep low voice.

" Well, its more than 3 years...sure I Have changed"Siddhi replied.

" No, that's not what I meant. There is something different about you. You look much more fuller. Curves in the right places" Kunal said and Siddhi almost choked and blushed to the roots of her hair. She was sure her nose was chilli red and she looked like Rudolf , the rain deer.

He was so observant. He was right. After giving birth to Shika, she has more curves than before. Her chest was much fuller. Her stomach was not so flat and her bottom was much more rounder...all in she had all the curves in the right place now. And he doesn't know she had his baby. Having his baby gave her the curves!

"That's it? That's what you wanted to talk to me about? About how different I look and my newly found curves?" Siddhi asked him disbelievingly.

Kunal lips curved into a gleam smile but not quite reaching his eyes. He was taunting her. Provoking her.

" Tongue still sharp...So not married...still single..." Kunal surprised her further.

"You checked me out?" Siddhi asked in shock

"Well , I had to if I am buying over the company . i have the right to check out on my key employees" Kunal said with calm confidence stance.

Realization dawned . "You are buying" Siddhi whispered He was really buying .

"Yes I am buying. That's what I wanted to talk to you about." Kunal revealed , staring at her maintaining eye contact.

"Talk to me? Why? You should be talking to Eric, not me. Does he know yet?" Siddhi asked tentatively.

" Not yet but he will know by Monday". Kunal said shrugging his shoulders in that arrogant indifferent way and sipping his drink very slowly.

"Kunal, that's great news! Eric will be so happy with the news!" Siddhi said with excitement.

"I am sure he will be but there is a tiny matter to take care of before the announcement. " Kunal drawled .

" What do you mean.? You said Monday right? Siddhi asked, not sure if she heard him correctly.

"Yes I did. Eric will know by 3pm Monday whether I am buying or not" Kunal completed the sentence

"But you just said..you are buying " Siddhi said feeling a little confused now.

"Yes I am buying, but it all depends.." Kunal pointed out , studying her with those intense deep eyes. He was telling her something...but she had hard time getting it.

"Depends on what?. Your other stake holders?" Siddhi queried

"No but yes, it depends very much on one person if the deal goes or breaks" Kunal said a little gravely .

"Kunal , I am confused right now. ...you said you wanted to talk to me something...what is it?" Siddhi suddently realized that she had forgotten why she came here and reminded herself.

"Let me come straight to the point. I have a good offer for the buyout which no one in the right frame of mind would refuse. . Everyone gets to stay. With the buyout , severance packages will be dealt by Eric for staff. The company will go through a major change in name and look. Everyone will be reemployed back by us with a new salary adjustment. . No one loses anything. Eric gets more than what he bargained for and so does the everyone else . Everyone walks out a winner" Kunal offered the piece of super good news.

One hand she was sad that she wont there to witness it but on the other hand she was so happy with this fantastic news Kunal just shared with her. Wow, Eric will be overjoyed!

"So what is the problem, then...I don't understand. " Siddhi asked

"Just a one condition .YOU stay on board. No resignation. Otherwise no deal. " Kunal finally dropped the bombshell, completely catching her by surprise. The room was filled with a deadly silence with what he just said. Siddhi froze and her eyes widened!

"What!!! What bloody nonsense is this? What has you buying got to do with me?" Siddhi stood up instantly and was glaring down at him, ready to fight.

"Believe me, siddhi, that's where you are wrong. It has very much to do with you. Everything has to do with you. You are my investment. ! Kunal said devoid of any expression.

"I don't get you Kunal...I am your investment? What are you talking about? Siddhi stiffened at the word "Investment"

"Why do you think I didn't turn up on the first day of visit.? I wasn't interested in this buyout and told my people to just go and have a look but not to give any commitment."Kunal explained.

"You remember the day, I came in late? Kunal asked. Siddhi didn't respond. She just stood there listening with growing anger. Something here was wrong...

" I was in Hongkong when Francoise sent me the Agenda for the 1^st day visit . I saw your name as the presenter and curiosity got better of me. I wanted to check if it was really you.. You just disappeared more than 3 years ago without a trace. And I was really interested to see if it was you. I took the next plane out and the rest you know" Kunal finished by way of explanation . But it wasn't enough. There were still many questions unanswered.

"But still you haven't answered the reason for your purchase as because of me" siddhi asked gritting her teeth.

"Lets just say, the business appeals to me more with you on board. It makes it even more lucratively interesting for me to buy now" Kunal challenged with a devilish glint in his eyes..

"And It wasn't bad as I thought it would be after going thru the books with my people. We still can turnaround after some revamp, turn it into a profitable business . I thought why not..?"

"Kunal I think , buying a business with such a big amount just because you wanted me to stay on board, is really ridiculous. Even you know that? Siddhi reasoned with him as if she was talking to a dumb man who has lost his mind.

" Do you think I am some kind of fool to invest in business without checking out first. ? I am saying the business is not bad as advised by my financial controller. My expansion team will revamp the whole business and turn it into profitability after a year. This business venture has become more interesting for me with your presence.That's all. Now, the decision is yours entirely. " Kunal responded.

"Kunal, I will leave. I will be honest about that. So I am sorry to say, that if you think that I will stay here, you are mistaken. I wont stay. So you are wasting your time and money. I really don't know what stupid games you are playing now but I am not buying the story, that my presence has got you to buy the business. This is the most silliest thing I have heard in my life" Siddhi finally finished, gasping for breath after the long delivery.

"Call it whatever you like. I know you will leave Siddhi, if you know that I will purchase You cant see the sight of me can you? Kunal asked with interest.

" I will not be manipulated this way in whatever game you are now playing. I don't like the way you make it sound. I stay or else no deal. Just utter rubbish ! Siddhi raked back at him

" Get this clear. I am not forcing you to stay. I have just explained to you my desire to buy and the benefits everyone will reap but just one tiny condition which you need to fulfill.. No issue for me if you disagree. Come Monday, I will just tell Eric, I cant buy his business . That's all" Kunal said with such profound calmness confirming that he wont have any remorse doing exactly that.

" You have more or less told Eric about buying the business. You have raised that poor man's hopes and now you are just going to pull the carpet right under his feet, aren't you Kunal? Siddhi asked Kunal ,with anguish bitterness.

"What can i say, all is fair in business and war. End of the day,its just purely business. No need to be so emotional Siddhi. If not this acquisition, then I move on to next. But can Eric ? Can the thousands of employees and staff? Can they? Kunal challenged .

" I cant stay Kunal. You know that. Why do you want me to be on board when you have an excellent expansion team there or is there something else you want from me..." Siddhi asked with suspicion. He wanted revenge!

" Something else? Like what " Kunal asked and was doing a good pretence of being clueless.

" You want me to work for you so that you can torture me don't you. You want to make my life difficult,miserable, don't you" Siddhi asked a little boldly. She didn't care to be polite anymore.

" The thought never crossed my mind. But now that you have mentioned it sounds like music to my ears . I will take that into consideration .' Kunal said innocently with that lazy wicked smile of his.

"So let me get this straight, if I stay, the deal goes through?" siddhi asked just for reassurance.

" Yes" Kunal answered.

Siddhi thought. Well she didn't want Eric to lose out on this deal because of her. She will agree to him and later she will run. He didn't have to know that. All she had to do is just tell him she will stay.

" Ok, fine. I will stay, though I want you to know I am only doing this for Eric" SIddhi agreed.

" Such a loyal employee' Kunal praised her with a mockery and laughed.

" Ok , all settled then. Kunal, if that's all , I will leave now..." Siddhi said but Kunal stopped her.

"No,no , Siddhi Malik. You think I will accept your verbal agreement with a just Yes and shake hands ? What kind of fool do you think I am without protecting my interest with some coverage. ? Kunal asked her with amocking sarcasm.

Kunal leaned forward and took a file from the table which Siddhi saw before . And he pushed the file across to her.

"Here , Read this. Its for you. " Kunal said levelly.

Siddhi sat down and took the file. She read the file and re-read again just to make sure she read it correctly.

" You cant be serious! You cant make me sign this! I have already given my word I will stay." Siddhi burst out

" Your word is not good enough. Its not iron clad. That is. Carved out in black and white in a legal paper. He pointed to the file she was holding in her hands.

Siddhi stood up." I refuse to sign this. This is blackmail. I lose either way. I will explain to Eric Monday morning that you are forcing me to sign this. You are using underhand methods. "

"Forced you to sign? Did I put a gun at your head. ?Dont kid yourself. Underhand methods?. Show me where in that document I am using underhand method.? You sign at your own free will. Like I said. This is not a big deal for me. I acquire business all the time. I pity only Eric. That man is old. Time for him retire and take what I offer and enjoy life. And let me tell you, no one had made that kind of offer so far. Only a fool will refuse my offer. " Kunal said with icy coldness.

"It says here that I have to report to you directly and travel with you wherever and whenever you want. I cant do that for a period of one year. This sounds a bit tricky here. I am not your slave at your beck and call. You cant use me like this. This is not even a moral agreement. It sounds more like a a... well...a " Siddhi argued with disgust clearly shown on her face.

"sounds like what Siddhi? " Kunal asked her softly

"It sounds like there is something else to it...some personal sexual favours.. I wont make love to you if you are thinking that. You cant force me to do that." Siddhi blurted out.

" Making love? Where did you get that idea? You have a very high imagination and expectation. Being deprived are you? Perhaps this is what you want me to do . I can add in that clause too if you want, although I would advise against it. All you have to do it to let me know. I'll try to fulfil your needs " Kunal gave her a considering look and it was obvious he was enjoying her discomfort.

" You are out your mind, you know that, to come up with such terms and conditions and forcing a woman to work for you who cannot stand the sight of you" Siddhi said bitterly.

"Careful, of what you say Siddhi. I never had to force any woman into doing anything for me. They do it at their own will . Just like you will too eventually." Kunal warned her.

" Just you know, I feel nothing for you Kunal and guess what? . She tore up the papers and threw the file and the torn papers, on the floor . " I don't care about this. .! You do what you want . I am done here. Goodbye Mr Kunal Chopra.! "Siddhi blasted at him.

She spun around and walked towards the door but before she could reach there, a pair of masculine hands circled her waist. Half lifting her off the floor and he somehow moved her against the wall.

"Let see, shall we if what you say is true..not having any feeling for me" Kunal brought his face closer to her.

" Stop it.! Kunal...!" Siddhi struggled to free from his grasp. She raised her hand to slap him but he quickly grabbed that hand into his. And he kissed the inside of her palm ! .At the instant all fight left her. Her body was lighting up inside her like fireworks. Slowly getting ready to explode at her one and only lover's touch. He cupped her face and moved his lips on to her shoulders, pushing aside her top. He hot mouth doing things to the naked skin...bringing back sensations that she had long forgotten... He was relentless in his determined pursuit to create havoc...his lips now moving up the side of her neck, , her ears...teasing... Those killer sexy mouth... He lips now trailed along her cheeks and then he lifted his face away from hers. Just an inch...His eyes were half closed and he was looking at her lips. He rubbed his thump over her lips...creating a whirlpool of passion and she was drowning helplessly into it. She could not even save herself if she wanted!

"Please...Kunal" Siddhi squeaked weakly . Her hands had a will of their own. One of her hand had crept up to his head, stroking his hair at the collar of his shirt and the other was on placed on his chest.

"Please what? " Kunal asked her in that low voice , his face coming closer to hers, lips almost touching but not yet. They were holding each other so close. Heaven!

"Dont..." Siddhi said as if she was drugged..her eyes half closed , staring, transfixed at those lips...anytime now those lips were going to be locked with hers.

"Dont? But I think you mean Yes ..." Kunal murmured coming more closer, he sounded as if he was drugged too, his voice a low growl.

"No,please...nooo" She moaned , closing her eyes.. mesmerized by his descending mouth...It been so long since they were this close.

" OK " Kunal obliged and stopped instantly . She felt like someone just splashed cold ice water on her. Just like that. ! And he left her leaning against the wall. He didn't kiss her. He just left her standing against the wall. !

"What? " Siddhi blinked in surprise with a rude awakening . She was embarrassed . She was still leaning against the wall looking completely bewildered . One minute they were on a passionate journey and now it was abruptly over. He on the other hand didn't seemed to suffer from any after effects of the close passionate encounter. He rolled down the sleeves of his shirt and walked over to where his jacket was draped on the dining chair. . He looked at her while shrugging into his jacket.

" That's just the copies . The originals are in the lawyers office. "Kunal informed her.

"So inorder for this deal to go through you have to sign an undertaking and a statutory declaration on your affirmation to abide to continue working for me for the said period at the lawyers office witnessed by the commissioner of oaths. Your call absolutely. No obligation . I would strongly advise you to read the penalty clause in case if you decide to break it.Heavy price for Breach of contract."

"You have till Monday 1 pm. Monday 3 pm I will announce my decision no matter what. you decide" He said as if speaking to his secretary and going to the console mirror and brushing his hair with his hand...which she ruffled up just now while he was nuzzling her with his lips.

" I would like to discuss further, but I have an appointment . Shall we?" He opened the door asking her to follow him. He just dismissed her ! And he proved a point the effect he had on her.

She finally came crashing down to earth. Adjusted her blouse and walked towards the door, with her head bent.. She just could not bear to look at him in this state.

He closed the door behind him and pressed for the lift. They lift came up swiftly. He held the doors, to allow her to enter first.

She stood at one corner and he took the other corner. He was leaning against the wall with his both his hands in his pockets. She knew he was looking at he down bent head.

She refused to look at his direction. "Did you drive here? Kunal asked.

"Yes" Siddhi answered without looking at him. She wanted to avoid any eye contact with him. He was acting as if nothing happened between them.! Perhaps it was really nothing for him! He probably seduce woman regularly as a hobby now.!

Lift doors opened. Again like a perfect gentleman, he held on the doors. And he said with a hint of naughty provocation "Goodngiht Siddhi. Sleep well and sweet dreams"

At that she looked up at him. She took a steadying breath. She opened her mouth to say something but thought it was wiser just to shut up and walked ahead of him without turning back if he was following her not.! Damn that arrogant man!

The next two days...were hell for her. She kept thinking about the agreement. But to be honest she was thinking about his touch..and the kisses he rained on her... the agreement spelt out...One year! Working directly under him...travelling with him...how will she do that with Shika and hide the secret from him. She just could not do it. That was a big risk.

"Mummy, why are you looking like this...I am scared... Shika said fearfully climbing onto her lap where she was sitting on the grass at the park.

"Nothing baby...nothing.." Siddhi said soothingly to her daughter. Great now she was scaring her daughter too while thinking about Kunal.

"But Mummy you look angry ...and you got lines " Shika said touching Siddhi's forehead where she was frowning.

" Oh that...its nothing. I am fine baby ". She must have looked like hell. Chantelle asked her too and she just brushed it off saying nothing.

She already made up her mind. She will not sign it. He is asking far too much. He has gone crazy. ! And worst she doesn't trust herself in his presence and worst he will find out about Shika if she continue to work for him.. Maybe he was bluffing about the whole thing. He wanted to scare her..that's it.! He wouldn't do that to Eric. He was probably testing her reaction. He was a businessman.

Next morning she went to work. She wore a slim A cut black skirt and matched it with White high necked soft sleeveless top. It had a long sash which she tied into a knot at her hip . She wore a short stylish jacket with it.

Everyone was in the office early for the announcement. . It was the BIG DAY. Eric called everyone for a meeting.

" Well, I have a good feeling Kunal will give us good news by this afternoon. He said he will be here around 3 p.m. Thought I wonder why 3 pm. ? Dont ask me why guys. He said he needed some final approval."

I just want to take some time, to tell all of you , how much I appreciate your work here. Most of you have been with me during tough times. Thank you very much. And I have to say , I cant hold on to the forte any longer in the current situation. I need a big bail out and only Kunal Chopra can do that. From my meetings we had over the last few days, I am very optimistic that he will make a good offer. It means a lot to me , my family and of course for all of you. This has been my legacy. Its time it went on to good hands...and all of you get to keep your jobs...".he went on...

Siddhi now felt really bad...she just could not break this man's heart .She cannot be so selfish thinking about her. She doesn't want to responsible for the loss of jobs too. So many of them depended on the goods news.

Eric worked hard all these years ..it was an emotional meeting with Eric who wa almost in tears. Infact after the meeting, there was no one with dry eyes! He really needed this. That was apparent. There was only one thing to do. The only thing to do for she had no other option. He wasn't bluffing. He meant it too.

She walked back to the office and dialled a number.It was 11 am...another few more hours to go.

"Kunal ..." answered the voice at the other end.

"Where do you want me to meet you to sign our agreement? " Siddhi asked...

So, Kunal now had her where he wanted. Trapped! She was under his spell. He wasn't going to spare her. Or Release her even if she begged for mercy on her knees.!
