"Things unattempted yet in prose or rhyme".
Paradise lost -John Milton

It is certainly unattempted yet in Ektaland. Paradise lost indeed.

I couldn't have said it in a better way if I had tried. You have been the voice of the audience here, Fariyal, thank you for your efforts.

nice article Fari...👏 truly voice of the fans..not just IF but probably TV as well. What has struck me is that BT/the owner is called the soap queen, she created/defined/showed the path for female oriented serials/soaps which went on to run successfully for a decade..I havent seen any other serial running so long.
After a decade, she decided to come up with a male centric show, which was male centric for close to six months and the trps were good, not aware of the mathematics, but probably the trps translated into good profits, then why the sudden detour to her old formulas of nari shakti and mahan devis.
She could have set another trend of male oriented dramas and I am sure we could have seen a lot more copy serials coming out..so wondering why there has been a detour suddenly. Probably to have male centric story, the tracks need to be different from the tried n tested formulas, an extra marital affari isn't something a hero can be shown snooping around, so they need different themes which probably they are not able to find at the moment.

It's gratifying that all of us are saying the same thing, albeit in different ways.

Many of us have seen & admired some of Ekta Kapoor's earlier "woman centric" shows. We also realize that our society often requires reminders of the importance of women in their lives, but must it be done at the cost of belittling our men?
Can we not be good daughters, wives, mothers, even bread winners & still have fathers that we look up to & have husbands who adore & take care of us?

Why is it that the men in these shows are either old fashioned chauvinists or at the other extreme, guileless, obtuse creatures, whose only purpose is to stand two feet behind their ultra capable wives?
Must a man be portrayed in such poor light, to make a woman feel good about herself?

We were promised through Kunal Chopra, the story of a principled struggler's second chance at love & life.
All we ask for as a predominantly women based audience, is a man we can be proud of & look up to.

Well said Fari👏 !!! It was particularly good to see the quotes made by the makers of the show and channel creative heads, because I was reassured that the whole Parichay - reprise of a fallen hero, male centric etc was not a figment of my imagination that has been subject to tortures of melodramatic nari-shakti attyachaar over the years🤢.
I am a woman and am proud of being one too and I know like Fari said that my country often has to be reminded of the importance of my gender, but like Fari I too would like to ask does it have to be at the cost of those men who held our hands and propelled us forward😕?
When I first saw Parichay I thought finally maybe we will get the story of one such man, maybe we will get to see how a man thrives amidst the teary eyed self sacrificing bahu's,beti's,saasu maa's and maa's of the world, but it was not to be, Kunal had to be sacrificed at the altar of 'nari mahanta'.😡
Smart, witty Kunal Chopra had to make way for the tears and sacrifices of Siddhi Chopra. The initial couple of times when this happened we did not complain ,we recognised that Siddhi was helping him back into a life that he had forsaken.Kunal had to learn but then what we feared happened, the makers of the show refused to step out of the comfortable ways of the past decade, can't blame them can we,afterall who would leave aside the easy copy paste chai paani livestyles and venture out to do the unattempted, right😉?
Nowadays all that Kunal Chopra has to do is walk around offering his spiderwoman wife vitamins and lots of love while she stomps around the city cleansing it of its evils!👏
Well no one is stopping him nor his wife , but then we did rather switch over to another channel which airs shows where the makers haven't yet forgotten the original concept, where the creatives and writers still take the time and effort to think of the story, where care is taken to keep bloopers to a minimum, where lawyers practise law ,doctors practise medicine where the protagonists of the show do a lot more than empty glycerine bottles, send their intelligence on vacation and wait for FATE to alight from her magic carpet and set things right in their lives.😕
And I am sure the falling TRP's are already suggesting that many of the audience have decided that rather than see Kunal Chopra die a slow death we did remember him for what he was and then move on fresher pastures!!!😃
