Tears streamed down his face as he looked at her. Even with his vision blurred with tears he could see that she was perfect. The angelic face, the chubby hands and legs, the tiny fingers. Those fingers that clutched on to his ring finger with all their might.
She had been bawling her lungs off, when Kunal had entered the nursery. He rushed to pick her up. His baby girl. His little princess. She stopped crying and looked at him with keen interest. Maybe she sensed that this was the man who would love her the most in the world- her father. He thought he saw a faint smile on her face and she snuggled close to him.
He carried the precious bundle to Siddhi's room. His darling wife Siddhi had given him the most precious gift of his life. She was waiting for him with eager eyes. As she saw the love of her life walk in with their baby girl; the eagerness and anticipation on her face gave way to a million dollar smile. Her eyes sparkled and twinkled; her happiness increasing with each step Kunal took in her direction.
He carefully handed their daughter to her. She held her; embracing her with all the warmth she had in her. Kunal looked on feeling like the luckiest man in the world. He held on to siddhi protectively and noticed that his baby girl was still holding on to his finger.
He may have become the most devoted husband and father in the world but he was still a mischievous boy at heart.
Kunal: Look Siddhi my little princess is holding on to my finger even when she is in your arms. I am sorry Siddhi but she is already a Daddy's girl.
He flashed a devilish smile. Siddhi tried to look offended. But couldnt manage to. She knew that their baby would always be her father's little girl. Throughout Siddhi's pregnancy Kunal had insisted that they were going to have a baby girl. She knew that he would devote his life to their daughter. And seeing their newborn clutch on to Kunal's finger; she knew that he would always be her hero.
Her thoughts were disturbed by Kunal. He was kissing her on the forehead. She recalled the evening that had just passed. Kunal was being awarded for the best comeback to the legal profession. She had fought with him to let her go with him. Looks like her daugher was going to be ziddi like her. Just as Kunal was being presented the award she had gone into labour. Looks like their daughter also wanted to be a part of her dad's success.
Kunal spoke.
Five years back if someone would have told me that this day would ever come in my life I would have said "huh" and walked away. But you gave me my life back.
And this baby; our daughter is my new parichay. Our new parichay.
