Ok, seen lots of post regarding the proximity of Chandni today so just wanted to clarify few things: (please dont think am justifying CVs, i hated the idea too )

Why do we think ChandNi cant do "It?"

main problem is, we all are stereotyped...when we hear a modern girl, we have some picture on our mind and about village girl , another image, but life is strikingly different than what we imagine, many times many a things happens in lower class and upper class levels, in fact these type of stuffs are more present in lower and upper, in middle class too but its just middle class is more protected and do not give info out easily...and people of either classes are not so embarrassed about it as the middle class because simply it all depends on upbringing

Why Niru cant do it:

thats because we all expect Niru to be an ideal one, but Niru is not meant to be an ideal one, nor is Chandu, everyone has there share of vices and both of them had the possibly the worst vice of all

Whats the reality:

I have an aunt (my friends mom) who is the head of statistics department in my country and they do lot of research and survey works on this type of social things ...specially to get data for health sector and this results found are pretty scary thats all

Was it wrong to show not-ideal situation in PMMKA?

so far at least from my point of view thats the only exception i saw in PMMKA is that its not ideal. Be it money, class, roles ., maruti is not a great father, he is a biased one, Sushila is not an ideal mother, she is more concerned about only one kid, Sarje is far from being an ideal son, Damu is bad but not really too much, he still cares to ask about Sarje sometimes, they tried the same with ChandNi too, rather than making them ideal Pavitra Atma, just some love birds,

So is there any msg for audience?

The way makers had shown , maybe not. But perhaps, the way to show this was wrong perhaps is by showing that they (ChandNi) dint think of the consequence and now that Chandu is dead , Niru will possibly suffer some consequence before Sarje helps her out
thats the hard way for people to learn maybe

Would it work for the show?

Probably not as character butchering was bad, really bad but as i said before as much as i hate sarje to carry this blame rest of his life which is actually Chandus, i wont blame ChandNi so much for this fault.

the fact is just like we shouldn't be praising any character so much and take them as ideal and worship them, we better not put them so down saying cheap either for one moment in life. just as sarje is so far though human and has good sides, still is a goon, ChandNi though being quite sugary maybe not so strong character-wise, so whats the big deal????

Am not saying that its acceptable, just saying that its quite realistic and sadly perhaps

(please dont fight now, if you dnt like just dnt comment, this is a request, and from my side am sorry if i hurt anyone)

Usma, amazing post, i agree with what u say, but then again, this is for those who made these characters like Gods. for CVs, who portrayed a completely different characterization of Chandu and Niru in intial outline for the show.
And besides the whole scenario to show such a scene was disgusting. A couple sleep together, guy dies and girl is pregnant. I mean, havent we seen this many many times and yes, the statistics may say lot of stuff, but showing it on TV, is only promoting it more.
I would still say, they have spoiled the whole meaning of love by this, its like showing that love has only one aspect where a girl even without knowing a guy goes all the way with him. which is ok with me, if they are trying to say that Niru is stupid.

why is the girl viewed harshly when it is the fault of the both and are equally disgusting and stupid they both had a hand in what happened and I am sorry if TV was the root of all evil and promotes bad things then what does that say about the human race and the values that they are raised with are we that weak minded to allow television to shape the type of people we are? I for one see this show just like any other show who has shown pre-martial sex as just a show it does not define me so sit back allow this to pass and hopefully the show gets better and if you still feel strongly about it turn the channel watch something else its that easy. Why allow a show to upset you.

for me, whether you're from the city or you're from the village, i don't find it acceptable...and of course these kinds of things do happen in life but it doesnt make it okay...im more disappointed with chandu than niru because i never had an attachment to the character niru to be upset for her doing that...in either case both are equally responsible...and couples don't realize the consequences of such actions...especially when you don't use protection

of course these aren't idealized characters but i figured a guy like chandu would be more responsible...i guess you have to take into account that they were prolly still drunk and that too unwillingly...but i dont think your judgment is THAT impaired when you're drunk that you forget what's within your personal moral limits...if they still think there was nothing wrong in doing what they did when they are in their senses, i may lose a bit of respect for them...and its more upsetting they just had to do this before they killed off my favorite character

Good post.

Though I didn't like what I saw yesterday...still not sure if it's on account of moral grounds or just feeling sad for Sarje..., I think the whole scenario was created with the future storyline in mind.

How else could Niru end up with Sarje...the whole thing could have been built up better to make it more convincing...the last bit came as a complete surprise...I guess I made the mistake of thinking of these to as the soft, eye-lock romance type of couple...I was wrong...

Somehow, the mood wasn't right enough...it all looked a little forced and, yes...rushed. And we know why, don't we?

Bidaaifan09, I agree with you on one point. Every serial
start with point to project something different but at the
end every serial turns same. Dont expect any highly socialized
message from TV drama as they are meant for entertainment purpose. And whichever serial start with that note either they closed down soon due to less TRPs or they turn as pure drama sooner or later. Get entertain as u wish from them and keep ur brain aside...

Whatever projected on TV as real, is not really "REAL" as well.
All shows are scripted and we know all this very well.

Now just one point I would like highlight, talking in terms of character.
Main lead of the show are plotted in way to get sympathy from users.
They know very well we are emotional fools who will smile when they smile and we will cry when they cry. Channel use this point as their gimmick and use that to make us seat back and watch. Thats why everyone tries to avoid situation which will raise question on female lead character. And I wish CVs should have done that here too.

I know whatever frustration was shown for a day only. Next day we all will be back to show called PMMKA. And whoever has interest of watching it for whatever reason they will watch it for sure. Probably they will cry also when Niru will be trapped in tragical situation and will be here to clap when Sarjaa will make entry to save her. SO seat back, relax and enjoy next epi!!!

But I loved few silent people coming over here and sharing there views in very much proper manner.Such diversification makes forum really interesting and I would love to read all those different thoughts which everyone tries to ignore proving himself right!
