It is with a heavy heart that I speak, but thanks AB. Atleast I got a clear cut answer now. Won't need to wait for an "official promo" on this. Great going CVs. I thought this was supposed be ChandNi's story! THEIR portrayal of a poignant lesson in dignified survival against the backdrop of a litany of obstacles, threats and drama lobbed at their love. As if they hadn't done enough damage by doing a total 360 on one of the most essential characters of the story aka Sarja, and now this. Sickening. A tip for the future- don't release all those articles/story plots and character sketches pre inagural because it's a well known fact by now that such pre meditated ideas- which some of us keenly get hooked on to - never come to fruition, courtesy of the vagaries of the system which are beyond my scope of understanding. Utterly disappointed to say the least.
Oh and please change the title montage, OK? Not that I'll EVER come near PMMKA anymore, but should I do, by way of random surfing, atleast it wouldn't that big of a slap in the face. And I'd like to speak to the guy who said he very much relates his life to that of Chandu's and went on a missive, highlighting the key aspects of the character. I suppose he was someone at the helm with regards to the script of the show. Not once did I feel the character is only for the interim and I know this decision is a testament to the obvious acts of derailment from the initial ideas.
What ticks me off is that these guys don't even give the story a chance before marking it off as fruitless. Their story just began, for crying out loud! So if the sole reason for this ignominious decision is in any related to the TRPs, then I can't be any less outraged. Bad, bad decision making.
Whatever. No point in ranting. After all we don't get their cash register's rolling, do we? We don't supposedly 'add to the business'. I should've known the minute I heard this line of thought from one of the superiors of the channel that we're in for trouble.
Well then, goodbye PMMKA. It was beyond describable while it last last; one of the sweetest and innocent stories I ever saw. I remember being totally in awe of people behind the script only to be slapped in the face down the road. Oh well sucks, but I'm going to pretend ChandNi lived a happy life hereafter, Sarja -after much self reflection, much moulding and much experience- found his share of his happiness by way of a happy, mutually consensual love/marriage, and Baba got his mental integrity back. Oh and that the village defied the trauma brought on by the drought and was once again bustling with the colors of life by way of mother nature's bountiful deliverance of ample rain.
As an ultimate wrap up, I had fun here on the forum too. I want to thank all the updaters (Darshana, Natz), all the members who genrously contributed putting up the videos of the various segments online and everybody else who chipped in their thoughts making this a medium of brewing discussions. Thank you very much.
Wishing everyone all luck, here's me signing off. 🤗
