and after all this i abhor PC and Sanjana and Balraj (ankyji) and also that bade papa or whoever!

That haldi scene is one of my all time favs! The no dialogues made it so much more special and beautiful. <3

I really don't like PC and Anky as it is but Sanjana I still have hopes. She has the potential to realize her mistakes and redeem herself. (Plus Aditi is doing such a good job in playing her that I can't really hate Sanjana as much as I might want to.)

I thought there would be a greater discussion on it as well. Abuse is abuse. Whether it's happening upon a woman or man it is unacceptable. Also considering how "classy" the Mehra think of themselves, I didn't expect them to degrade themselves to doing something so low as hitting someone. And the fact that they consider Raghav to be their servant is even more upsetting because they're playing upon that social order hierarchy which is so strong in some areas in India. That caste & class system is highly dysfunctional and the fact it's being carried out to foreign lands is even more upsetting.

If this isn't the first time he's being abused then it becomes even more problematic since he sees himself as an orphan. As an orphan he will find himself to be highly dependent on this family who has sheltered him for so many years and will no doubt feel like he has a huge debt to pay off to them. But him being an orphan doesn't give the Mehra family the license to treat him however they want.

The Mehra family were really disgusting today.

You're right violence is violence at the end of the day, that family irks me to hell like seriously
esp that chachi. its not right to treat anyone like a slave, and the fact that he's being treated like one is not only upsetting but also disgusting. I personally think they're taking advantage of him since they brought him up, more like think he's their personal object 🤢Slavery has been abolished in the west (known to be a crime in many countries), thank god. so this isn't a right projection.

As for Raghav i think he wears a broken heart behind that smile and for that reason he needs more help than Naina. Raghav would find it harder to move on from this good-for-nothing family compared to Naina, who i hope would ditch her brother and bhabi like they would do to her

That Chachi has the most regressive thinking ever. You don't treat someone like shit just because you want something. She's not only ruining Raghav's life but also Sanjana's in the long run in terms of how she will construct her identity as a woman.

I don't know why we have this caste social order be so prevalent in a show that is set in the West. Now I don't know about the Indian society and if the caste order still exists there but like you said, slavery has been abolished in the West. So where is the sense in showing it? At least try to be a bit reasonable.

I said the exact same thing as you in another post. 😆

I will always love Raghav more simply because he needs more care and attention than Naina does. Naina has the capability to deal with troubles head on and learn how to move on from them. Raghav, on the other hand, who has always been sheltered for so long resorts to creating fantasies for himself so that he doesn't have to deal with harsh realities. He needs everything to be picture perfect whereas Naina is okay with there being tears around the corner.
