The idea for this came last night while having a discussion on the EDT on the unpaid bijli bill.
Please ignore the technicalities.

Lights Out
Bike ride, court room, diwali, bhoomi pujan…all these memories were making Shiva angry and emotional. Emotional because he was missing Raavi and angry for what he did to her…he felt helpless.
He was unable to sleep, he thought of talking to and discussing it with Raavi. “But before that I think I need to tell mom that our divorce has been postponed, hence I cannot get engaged.” Shiva thought to himself. He was about to knock on his mother’s room when he realised it was 11pm. “I will talk to mom in the morning.”
He saw the light of Raavi’s room was on. “Chipkali, still can’t sleep in the dark.” He peeked into the room and saw her studying which impressed him. “She manages the house so well and is also trying to balance her academics, I am so proud of you, Raavi.” He didn’t realise but he said that out loud which was heard by Dhara.
“It is always important to say whatever you have in mind before it gets too late.” Dhara said.
“Bhabhi, but…”
“Your ifs and buts have made a mess of everyone’s life. If you can’t tell Raavi, tell Disha what you feel, CLEARLY. Tell her about what you feel for Raavi, it might help in cancelling the engagement.” Dhara winked and left the room.
Shiva had a big smile on his face which was immediately replaced by fear as the lights went out. Everybody came out in the aangan and the moment he spotted Raavi, he felt relieved.
“Only our house doesn’t have electricity. Rest all the houses are even having their diwali lights on.” Rishita said expecting an explanation from Dev.
“Let me check.” Dev said.
Throughout the ordeal of standing in the dark, Raavi was standing next to Shiva tugging on his vest which nobody noticed.
After 10 minutes, Dev informed them that the bill was not deposited in time and hence, they disconnected it. Just then, it clicked Dhara that she gave Krish some money to pay the bill. She was looking at Krish to own up to it but he was saved by Rishita.
“Dev and I will go and sort it out.” Seeing Rishita taking the responsibility, Dhara decided to let it go and thought of talking to him in the morning and not in front of everyone.
“She is right. Rishita and I will go there and deposit the bill. You all should get some rest.” Dev said and left along with his wife.
Everybody went to their respective rooms. Krish decided to sleep with his mother. Raavi was still holding Shiva’s vest and was not willing to go inside the room.
“Do you have any plans of going to your room or you want to take this vest with you?” Shiva asked a visibly scared Raavi.
“What!” Just then, Raavi realised that she was holding Shiva’s vest but even then, she did not leave it.
“Can you come with me?” Raavi asked.
“Yeah.” Shiva said.
The 1 minute walk to the room with Shiva on her side made her feel safe. When Shiva left the room, Raavi’s heartbeat increased and she started cursing him.
“This boy doesn’t know how to be courteous. He knows I have a fear of dark and still he left me here all alone.” Raavi was talking to herself when she spotted Shiva with a candle in his hand. Shiva kept the candle on her side of the bed and was about to leave when Raavi held his hand.
“Can you sleep here?” Raavi asked with a shy smile on her face which didn’t go unnoticed by Shiva.
“Yes…ummm…The candle will be finished in some time, I think I should sleep here only. I don’t want you to wake me up in the middle of the night.” A very confused Shiva went to his side of the bed.
He noticed a small smile on Raavi’s face and felt like a teenager who saw his crush giving him a smile. Raavi held his hand, which much to her surprise he let her do and she closed her eyes.
Shiva finally felt a sense of relief and Raavi on the other hand, felt like she was home.
“Thank you, Shiva.” Raavi whispered.
After a long time, both Shiva and Raavi had a good night sleep, literally.
