Thank you for loving the first part. I had written this as a separate story but it was going well with the flow (according to me). Hope it is not disappointing! 🤗

Part2

Raavi was lost after Shiva left the room; she couldn’t fathom what he meant by his parting words. For her, Shiva was a stubborn guy who did not care about her. But when he said that he won’t change a thing about their past made her curious. She thought to herself “something is going on in his head, I need to know.”

Next day, Raavi was making Rangoli in the aangan when she spotted Shiva coming towards her without paying any attention to what she was doing,

“Careful, Shiva. You will spoil the rangoli.”

“What the hell! You scared me, Chipkali.”

“You would have spoilt the Rangoli. It has taken so long to make it. Look at it, it is so pretty.” She looked at him with pride in her eyes for her work.

“It is nice.” Shiva left after giving her a smile.

Before she could go back to completing it, he came back and whispered “Happy Diwali, Raavi” and put a small peck of colour on her right cheek.

Raavi was surprised would be an understatement. Shiva has changed. She decided that she will talk to him; she needs to know what is going on his head.

Shiva was getting ready for diwali pooja in his room and just then, Raavi entered wearing a pretty yellow and green lehenga with golden dupatta. Shiva was literally gawking at her. He immediately decided to leave the room. Before he could leave the room Raavi called him.

“Shiva, can you help me with the earrings?”

“Yeah, sure” he said.

He realised that these were the same earrings that he gifted her. He did a mini victory dance in his head which was interrupted by Raavi asking him about his day.

“I hope the pooja at store went well.”

“Yeah. earrings are done. I will take your leave. You get ready.” Shiva gave all the answers and was about to leave the room when Raavi started talking to him.

“Shiva, why have you changed?” Raavi asked Shiva which took him by surprise. “And I am not asking about your clothes. I want to know where is the Shiva who used to call a spade a spade, where is the Shiva who never let me get into his comfort zone and now letting a complete stranger question him, question our relationship?”

Shiva was just looking at Raavi and was planning on leaving the room when Raavi held his hand to stop him.

“I want to know, Shiva. You have hated me with all your heart but you were there for me when I gave up on life; you married me. We had our difficult times but you always had my back. What has happened now?” She was literally on the verge of crying while putting her heart out in the open.

“Listen Raavi, there is no point in talking about this right now. We have to go to the pooja.” Shiva declared.

“Okay, fine. Marrying me has no meaning. Standing up for me has no meaning. Saving my life has no meaning. Letting a girl question our relationship has no meaning. Letting your mom question me has no meaning. Is there anything left in this relationship that has meaning?” Raavi let it out in one go and was just looking at Shiva who was lost in her words.

“You want to know what has meaning for me. It is you. You mean to me, a lot. I don’t know since when; the first time I irritated you or the time I saved you. I seriously don’t know when you started meaning so much to me. But you are important to me and you should know it. You are right, I should have said something for you. I am sorry for letting you down. I don’t know what you need but I know I want you. I want you, the whole of you; with all the baggage. Will you accept me with my baggage?” He had tears in his eyes while saying this. He said it out loud despite being unsure of Raavi’s feelings.

Raavi did not know what to say, she just stood there and tried to make sense of what the man in front of her said; the one who hated her all their life is now asking her to choose him.

Shiva felt embarrassed on letting his heart out as he did not get any reaction from Raavi.

“Can I get a hug?” Was all Raavi could say before she jumped on Shiva.

Shiva hugged her with all the love he has for her but decided to not burden her with the L word now because it will be too much for his phoolkumari and he wanted to be sure about everything. All he knew in his heart was that it was the beginning of something beautiful in front of them. Till then, he was going to enjoy his diwali which just got happier.
