To say that Shiva Pandya’s favourite colours were brown and black was just an understatement, shiva was obsessed with those colours, especially the shade of honey brown, all because of his bunny, his girlfriend, Raavi. He smiled as he though of her, her bright eyes and wide smile, it was very easy to get lost in thoughts of her, Shiva had caught himself getting lost in thoughts of her multiple times within a couple of hours. She was dangerous for his concentration he decided. He sat by the counter at a Pandya Store branch, today was his duty to supervise the newly opened branch and he was having a very slow day, there was barely any floating of customers today for some reason and Shiva had already tallied the accounts 3 times. He decided to leave kaka at the counter and get to the storeroom/office space where he would study whenever he was free.
He had a lot of work to get to so he settled down on the recliner and got to work, a good couple of hours had passed as he managed to finish up his assignments, the room really let him focus and without Raavi here to distract him, he was finally able to get some work done, had Raavi been here his entire attention would be directed towards her, he wouldn’t be able to look away from her, she was like a magnetic force field, ensnaring him. He was about to call her to see when she could get to the store for their usual study/meeting time, just as he was about to call her the door banged open and she barged in screaming his name.
“SHIVVV”
He smiled as she threw her backpack onto the bean bag and ran up to his chair, plopping herself in his lap, his arms wound around her instantly, supporting her and letting her wiggle around on his lap, she finally settled for draping her legs on either side of him, arms wrapped around his neck and head resting against his chest, she cuddled further into him and he pressed a kiss against her hair. She took a deep breath and looked up at him, smiling her happy smile, Shiva’s heart skipped a beat as he took in her visage, but for some reason today the moles on her face caught his attention, he leaned down and pressed a kiss against the ink-black dot, smiling as she shuddered against him, holding him tighter.
“Shiv”
“Hmmmm”
“I’m so tired”
She mumbled, resting her head sideways on his shoulder, his one of his arms wrapped entirely around her tiny waist and the other rubbed soothingly up and down her bare back, in an attempt to soothe her, she sighed as she burrowed deeper into his body.
“Bunny?”
“Hmm”
“Baath karna hai uske baare main?”
“Nahi, just hold me tighter Shiv”
He smiled and hugged her closer to him, his hand rubbing softly, she smiled at the feel of his rough palm caressing her bare back, thanks to the backless top she had worn, she fell asleep to his gentle ministrations, her love for him being the last thought she had before falling asleep.
Shiva smiled as she fell asleep against him, her warmth against him tempting him to fall asleep, however the urge to look at her beautiful face overpowered the urge to sleep, as he took in the sight of her slightly pouted lips, his eyes caught the mole on her face, he always thought her moles were beautiful, he bent slightly, kissing her there and she sighed in her sleep. A smile crept up onto his face in its own accord.
His eyes wandered lower and he found another little mole by her collarbone, his thumb caressed at his, the ink-black dot, standing out against her porcelain skin, he couldn’t help himself as he looked at her exposed back, there was moles dotted across, black against her fair skin, his eyes followed the pattern in which they were scattered all over her, like stars dotted across the sky they were dotted all over her, the ivory of her skin and the ebony of her mole a sharp contrast to the black of the sky and the sparkling white of the stars, his bunny was a paradox, perhaps his favourite one.
Her eyes were his sun, lips the moon and now her moles were his stars, he smiled as he looked at the little black dots, so inviting and so beautiful, he ran his palm over them tracing them gently. Kissing her forehead he realised, perhaps black would win over brown sometimes. Just sometimes, all thanks to the moles all over her.
The beauty spot by her lip was one of a dozen or so scattered all over her body. My new constellations.
