I just saw the segment, it was fun segment by SBS. Have seen SBS do this with couples reel/real when I was watching ITV shows 10 years ago too😃

In the Western World, an engagement ring and a wedding band is worn on the left hand ring finger.

Though I had a very traditional Indian marriage with all the rituals I had to go through this for my GC purpose, so I have a diamond engagement ring which my husband gave at the time of engagement and a gold wedding band, both in my left ring finger. And lot of my American friends here have it the same way.

IDK what it means to wear a ring on the right hand except that you can wear it for fun or the finger is free and available😆
