Shivi drabble: Its really not about the kangan - updated post 3

Something I wrote during the breaks. Its partly an analysis of what happened, but mostly my thoughts of what should happen further. I wasn’t going to post it coz I’m already late..but then I thought why not.

“Agar mujhe yeh kangan nahi milege, toh Raavi bhi mere saath nahi jaaegi”

Shiva’s fierce ultimatum left everyone speechless. All eyes were trained on Shiva and Mami, awaiting the next verbal cannon. Surprisingly, Raavi was the first one to react with her outburst.

“Shiva, tune toh kaha ki yeh baat tere aur mami ke beech hai...ki main iss ke beech na aau… aur ab tu hi mujhe ghasit raha hai? Tu mujhe daav pe laga raha hai?” Raavi asked in a shocked voice.

She still couldn’t believe the words that had come out of Shiva’s mouth. In a broken voice, she continued, “Yahan mein soch rahi thi ki hamara rishta sudhar raha tha, shayad puri zindagi ladkar nahi guzarege…par yahan tu toh mujhe chodne ke liye tayar ho gaya. Kaise Shiva?”

“Arey, main kaha tujhe laa raha hu beech mein?”, he retorted angrily. “Main toh baat kangan ki kar raha tha…par teri maasi hi kab se tera naam le rahi hai. Har baar ki tarah, tujhe uski galti toh dikhti hi nahi hai...bas mujhse hi ladna hai. Maine sirf itna kaha ki mujhe yeh kangan pag phere ke nek mein chahiye. Main iske bina yaha se nahi jaaoga.” he repeated in a determined voice.

Dhara could see everything was falling apart. In an effort to make him understand, she walked to Shiva again and said in a soft tone, “Dekh Shiva, main samajti hu ki inn kangano se papa aur maa ki yaade judi hai. Par yaade toh dil se hoti hai. Tujhe bachpan ki yaado ko bhula kar, Raavi ke saath aage badhna hoga. Please, inn kangano ko bhul jaa.”

“Kaise bhul jaao, Bhabhi? Yeh mami ne aaj tak bhulne hi nahi diya! Aap janti ho, jab yeh mami mere saamne kangan pehen kar aati hai, mujhe apne khoye hua bachpan ki yaad aati hai. Inn kangan ki khanak se mujhe har woh taana yaad aata hai jo samaaj ne maa aur mere bhaio ko diya hai. Par ab bas ho gaya. Main iss dard ko aur bardash nahi kar sakta. Agar isko Raavi se pyaar hai, toh isse mujhe yeh kangan aaj dene hi hoga”, he tried to explain to her in a shaky voice.

On the other hand, Mami was slightly scared that Dhara couldn’t control Shiva. This Shiva was a loose and unpredictable cannon. For the first time, she felt that maybe no one would be able to save her. However, she chose to show her outrage that he dared to question her love for Raavi. “Main Raavi se kitna pyaar karti hu, yeh mujhe sabit karne ki koi zarurat nahi hai. Tujhe yeh faltu ki zid chodni hogi. Yeh kangan mere hi rahege”, she said in an unbelievably arrogant tone.

“Ae mami, yeh faltu ki zid nahi hai. Inn kangano se pehle, mein Raavi ko chod dunga. Kam se kam aaj ke baad, mujhe tum mein se kisiki shakal toh nahi dekhni padegi.” He repeated his ultimatum again.

Hearing those hurtful words again, finally Raavi lashed out, “Tu mujhe kya chod kar jaaega..main hi tere saath nahi rehna chahti hu.”

Dhara gasped at Raavi’s angry words and rushed to calm her. “Raavi, tu yeh kya bol rahi hai. Please tu toh shant ho ja. Main Shiva se baat karti hu.” Dhara words felt on deaf ears. Both Shiva and Raavi were staring at each other with a mixture of emotions; one was fiercely determined, and the other was brokenly angry.

“Tujhe jo karna hai kar.. mujhe fark nahi padta. Na tere aane ki khushi, na tere jaane ka gham. Mujhe farak sirf inn kangano se padta hai.” Shiva responded while staring her in the eyes. He could see the tears that were threatening to fall; but he also couldn’t back out now. He needed to finish this today.

Suddenly, Raavi had enough of these warring families. With equal anger in her heart for both of them, she rushed to her masi and grabbed her hands to remove the kangan. “Ae Raavi, tu yeh kya kar rahi hai? Chod mera haath.” Her masi was trying to move away from Raavi and save her kangan; but her struggles were ineffective against Raavi’s determination. Raavi had managed to grab the kangans and was holding it in her hands. Without giving anyone else the opportunity to guess her intentions or stop her, she ran to the nearby lake and flung the kangans in the water. Once again, everyone was left speechless. No one had ever imagined that Raavi would make such a move.

“Ae gadhedi, yeh kya kiya tune?” Shiva yelled first. His anger was at another level, if possible.

“Raavi, woh sacha sona tha! Kon pagal usse aisa fek deta hai?” Her masi yelled at her stupidity.

Steeling herself, Raavi yelled back, “Yeh kangan hi saare fasat ki jadd hai.. toh ab yeh kangan kisi ke paas nahi rehenge… aur naa hi mein rahungi.” Her last words were directed at Shiva. But before he could react or say anything, she ran away.

A/N: I know the last bit will never happen in ITV world; but IRL, that’s what I’d like to do lol.

Edit: I promise I wrote this right after the first ultimatum precap. I guess the show writers are also dramatic that way 🙈

Modified drabble after seeing the Monday precap

Raavi had just cut the cake and fed everyone. Now she was opening the gifts that her family had brought for her.

"Ae Prafulla, tu ne kya diya tere beti ko? Kuch layi bhi hai ke bas haath-pair leke aagayi?" Suman taunted her.

Before her birthday could be ruined with another war of words, Raavi quickly interjected, "Masi-ma, aap ko yaad hai maine aap se kya gift maanga tha? Ki aap Shiva se ladna band kar do? Aur aap ne kaha tha, ki pehle Shiva ko bolu? Toh mere paas ek best idea hai! Aap na pehle yeh kangan Shiva ko de do. Phir jhagda khatam!"

"Ae Raavi! Tu kya bol rahi hai? Tu meri dikri hai na? Toh tu uss pagal ki side kyu le rahi hai?"

"Masi-maa, aap toh bade ho na. Please yeh zid chod do. Phir main Shiva se baat karungi, woh apko phir kabhi pareshan nahi karega. I promise." Raavi tried to convince her masi-ma.

"Aise kaise de du. Itne saalo se yeh mere kangan hai. Main marte dum tak isse nahi chodungi." Mami vowed in a determined voice.

"Haa toh thik hai. Ab toh aise hi sahi." Shiva yelled from behind the tree.

He quickly strode forward and picked up Mami on his shoulder like a sack of potatoes and began moving towards the haveli.

His entire family was frozen in shock at his sudden appearance and equally sudden disappearance. "Ye Shiva kaha se aaya? Aur ab karne kya vala? Gaumbi dekh zara" Suman murmurmed in a worried voice, jolting everyone out of their shock.

Exchanging a quick glance with Maa, Gaumbi and Dhara quickly ran after the pair leaving the rest of the family behind. "Shiva, rukh. Kaha leh jaa raha hai Mami ko?" Gaumbi yelled after him.

Shiva had enough of a headstart to reach the rooftop before Gaumbi and Dhara could stop him.

"Ae pagal saand! Chod mujhe. Maar dalega kya mujhe?" Mami yelled too.

"Hilna band kar! Aaj toh main yeh kangan lekar hi rahunga. Ya toh tu khud nikal ke degi, ya main nikalunga teri laash se" Shiva warned her. He quickly dumped her on the ledge on the other side of the wall. The ledge itself was only about a foot wide with crumbling stones. While Shiva was still holding Mami by her arms, Mami"s legs were trembling with fear.

"Raavi! Gautam! Dhara! Koi toh bachao mujhe iss janawar se. Maar dalega mujhe!"

Dhara - Gaumbi had finally reached the rooftop. "Shiva, bas ho gaya. Yeh kya pagalpan hai?" Dhara tried to stop him.

"Koi bhi mere pas mein mat aana. Nahi toh mera haath fisal jayega." As if to demonstrate, he actually let go of one Mami's arms throwing her off balance.

"Shiva sambhal ke! Hum yahin dur khade hai." Dhara and Gaumbi quickly moved back. "Shiva tu ghuse mein kya kar raha hai. Hum aaram se, baith ke baat karte hai." Instead of responding to Dhara, he again loosened his hold on Mami's arms.

"Ae mami, tu kiska wait kar rahi hai. Aaj tujhe koi nahi bacha sakta hai."

"Shiva, chod Masi-maa ko. Lag jayegi unko." Raavi yelled at him.

For a second, Shiva closed his eyes hearing his chipkali's voice. No, right now, she was mami ki behen ki beti. Squaring his shoulders, he roughly ordered her, "Ae Mami ki behen ki beti, tujhe bola tha na, tu iske beech mein mat pad. Samaj nahi aata? Chup re varna phir se mere muh se kuch galat nikal jaaega."

"Isse zyada kya galat hoga ki ek kangan ke liye aaj tu kisiki jaan lene chala hai?" Raavi retorted in a hurt voice.

"Kitni baar bolu tujhe ki yeh sirf kangan nahi hai? 10 saal se yeh mere dil mein chub rahe hai. Aaj main yeh kissa khatam karke hi rahunga. Phir tu chahe mujhe kitna bhi bada villain samaj le."

Raavi could see the mixture of anger and frustration that was driving him. She really didn't want either of them to be hurt. Walking towards him, she tried again. "Shiva, tu aisa jangli kyu hai? Phir se zor zabardasti kar raha hai?

"Toh kya karu? Jab damad banke ache se manga toh diya kya? Tu ne birthday gift mein manga, toh bhi diya kya? Aise dheet ke saath toh zor zabardasti hi karni padti hai. Tu dur hatt. Ae mami, nikal kangan."

In blatant defiance of his order, she leaned over the parapet and held out her hand for her masi-maa.

"Masi-ma apka haath dijiye. Kuch nahi hoga aapko. Main aapko bachaugi." Raavi was staring at Shiva, daring him to stop her. But he was too surprised at Raavi's actions to counter her.

Meanwhile, Mami was slowly trying to inch towards Raavi. But it was hard to shake off Shiva's grip. She wished another person would come to help her too. It would make it easier to overpower him. But no matter, she was finally able to grip Raavi's hand.

Immediately, Raavi brought forward her other arm and slipped off the kangan from her masi-maa's wrist. Once again, Shiva was too surprised by her actions to do anything.

"Ae pagal, tu kya kar rahi hai? Itni kya tadap hai iske saath ghar jaane ki?" Her masi yelled at her.

"Bas Masi-maa. Ab aur nahi. Yeh kissa aaj khatam huya.. aur mera bhi aap sab se lena dena. Mujhe aap dono mein se kisike saath nahi rehna."

Turning towards Shiva, she spoke to him for the last time, "Bachpan se yeh kangan chahiye the na tujhe? Le, khushi se rakh isse...aur mujhe baksh."

She threw the kangan at his chest and ran away from there, leaving everyone else to save Mami.

Woho it was some trp worthy drama agar phenkne ki jagah return karke khud na jati Saath that would also be soo good

Since the lake is actually a plot point in the show, I thought I'd modify my drabble version too 😆 It's my Sunday imagination where again Raavi plays the ultimate googly.
