The family factor of it is what makes ShiVi so attractive. Like some of you have already said, I’d rather cheer for a couple in a sweet family drama such as Pandya store, rather than watching love triangles and villains plotting everyday.

For example today I genuinely wished we had another Gaumbi Krish scene 😂 Last two days of those were very precious ♥️
So yeah, even though most fan girl like crazy over ShiVi, we wouldn’t ever want to single them out. The whole is as important as the part!

Those who have been watching the original Pandian Stores in tamil, will know that this is a family show, where it's all about middle class joint family drama. The reason for its success in tamil is because they have managed to execute the story and the characters in a very realistic way. Most of the time you won't even feel it's a serial - cause it's not the usual saas-bahu drama. It's very lighthearted show compared to other regular tv-show. Ofc in this track there will be a lot of drama but later on it's very light-hearted. In tamil you will watch the brotherhood, sister-in-law bonding, wife-husband bonding between the couples (one couple = matured, 2nd couple: wife dominating husband, 3rd: tom & jerry. Last but not the least how the entire family stick together, they will always support each other. This is the main reason for the show's success. Every actors are loved equally in tamil. They balance the characters so well in tamil. You will see all of them having an impact in the story.

Even in tamil Kathir-Mullai jodi was the most popular jodi and alot of people watch the show for them only, but majority watch it for the entire storyplot. The jodies are loved because of the bonding they have with the entire family.

Honestly, in tamil I started to watch it during the same time as current track in hindi. I watched it for Kahir-Mullai, but at the same time for the other character as well. I don't watch it regularly anymore but if I do watch it then it's for Meena (Rishita). Her character graph in tamil has been fab. From being a rich brat to mingle well into the family has been so beautiful and realistic. She is so funny in tamil smiley36. The interaction with every character is great. That's why you will watch this show for so many reasons. It changes, right now everyone is hook on Shivi, but trust me it will change. You will go back and forward.

Family Dramas toh har ghar me hota he.. Uss family drame me se bahar nikalne ke liye people prefer fantasy world. Thats the reason behind existence of entertainment industry.

Fokat ka gyan kisiko acha nahi lagta ek time me boriyat aahi jati he. Agar writers keep on showing lessons/Gyaan and less shivi/lead's chemistry. TRP dubegi and show ko leke dubegi.

Sorry for my harsh words. Fact is fact.

Aaaj se 10 years pehle family dynamics shows ka funda successful tha but aab generation alag hai and expectations bhi.

Declaring one couple out of an ensemble cast as lead is unfair for all the other actors. Family drama har ghar me hota hai toh har dusra show bhi romantic hi hai. Entertainment industry doesn't mean showing only romance and kya pata kisi ki fantasy ek loving family dekhne ki ho.

This show IS a family drama, you believe it or not and if it goes according to the original, it will focus on the family only

But I understand they are shooting in pandemic so maybe some limitations r there . Also they would have to give each actor equivalent screenshare otherwise they might quit .

Obviously they will quit, actors like kinshuk mahajan and shiny Doshi are not character artists or side actors. You can't expect them to stand at the side, part of a group. They must have signed up this show because their roles were meaty and not just LEAD ke bhaiya-bhabhi

TRPs boomed because Shivi have the tried and tested story of a enemy-to-lover trope. I do love them but I would rather watch them along with other members who are given equal weightage

I totally agree! I am enjoying the family dynamics and each one’s character. Shivi are my favorite but that doesn’t mean they have to show only their scenes and their love. Then the story will become Shiva Raavi ki kahani and will be stale and boring. I am very much liking the episodes.

I still watch the original (tamil version), they have crossed more than 615 episodes, still running very successfully being in top 5 in the state with the same positivity and logic. There is still no vamp in that version,

I want to see such positivity and progression in this show as well with no unnecessary drama.

Edited: The number of episodes in the original from 660 to 615, it was a typo.

I completely agree! This show has a great ensemble cast and the different dynamics between the characters is what will give us a wholesome story! There is no single ML or FL which I love and honestly is rare to find on ITV. I think you summed it up really well: Pandya family is the lead. I love ShiVi & GauRa but a story cannot be made up of just nok jhoks and romance. It tends to become cheesy and that is when vamps, leaps, etc... come into play to “save” the show. I absolutely love the family scenes and the humor! Each character has something to offer! Hopefully the writers don’t get swayed and focus on the story above everything else!

Well said! I agree with whatever you said. it's the family bonding and how they resolve each and every problem without creating a major drama. Janradhan is still a thorn in their path but Meena (Rishita's chracter) learned how to tackle him and the brothers are not even needed anymore.

I started watching the show 2 1/2 years ago for Kathir-Mullai, watched their journey together but just like you I mightily impressed by the character growth of Meena. She has come a long way only because she loves Jeeva immensely and he does too. She is witty, to the point, brings about changes and customs, the right way and doesn't yelll or humiliate like Rishita. Even in yesterday's episode Murthy (Gautam's character) said, if Meena was not here in the family, don't know what would have happened. Mullai and Meena had problems initially, bu the way they sorted that all out and the bonding they have is indeed great!. Meena still doesn't cook😆, but Mullai and Dhanam are completely ok and don't force her to do household jobs at all. She and Kanna are a great team! Brothers are still very much together and help each other out.

I want to see such dynamics in this show and it can be done without being too dramatic. I hope makers of this show hold onto the premise of the original😃

I think most of us have started watching because of shivi but stayed because of the whole story, family dynamics and the daily dose of humour, at least I did.

This show is great, everyone in the cast is amazing and I love the dialogues. 😊😊

I decided to watch the episode. It was damn funny. As Murthy said if Meena wasn't in the family it will be boring. Meena still have fights now and then but that's because Meena has that shade in her character (to create minor problems). But if you remember Meena did get jealous at the beginning when Jeeva used to talk to/about Mullai, and it also created issues between Meena and Mullai. But it got solved organically.

I remember how people were missing Meena post pregnancy (cause Hema was on maternity leave), that says a lot about the character. And even when Venkat got covid, people were missing Jeeva. And when Kumaran was not shooting, people were missing Kathir. It shows how each actor and characters are important to the show to function.

Agree that even after 3 years the dynamic of the show has been solid. That's very tough to do. You won't really find any loops in the characters and in the storyplot, cause the makers never destroyed any characters. But in hindi they do have a different take, so only time will say how well the makers are gonna take this show forward.

That's what I said that Meena and Mullai definitely had problems initially and since then they have come a long way. As you said each character is important and their basic qualities have not changed at all, each have adapted to the changes very well and no major decision is taken without everybody's input. They have a family meeting once in the morning and at night to discuss and come to a conclusion. Open conversations have always been an important part and they have kept it that way even after 2 1/2 years. Kathir- Mullai were the only one lacking in that department initially, now even they are very comfortable with each other.

I miss the actors too if they are not shooting or taken leave due to personal reasons. Now I can't wait to see Aishwarya-Kanna-Prasanth (Malii's step son)😆 love triangle. Aishwarya seems to be like Meena, when she started out, defintely influenced by Kasthuri, but will see. The family will help them out too. I miss Chitra though, she brought life into Mullai's character. I also don't mind Kavya, now that she is playing Mullai. Just like this show, Pandian stores actors are still very much like a family offscreen as well.

Did you know Murugesan Maama actor Nellai Siva died yesterday? Don't know who will Kathir talk to now? Will they bring a replacement just like they did for Mullai?
