If the makers are following the original, then the fandom should collectively take a very deep breath as it takes about 200 episodes for Mullai (Raavi) and Kathir(Shiva) to reach a point where they realized they liked each other and wanted to move forward with the marriage. It was a true slow burn. However, the journey was enjoyable as the DevTa couple were more bearable, and a lot of the important conversations like Dev-Raavi and Shiva’s breakdown were tackled at what I felt were appropriate times. Particularly, Mullai(Raavi) confronts Jeeva(Dev) in the kiss scene in the Tamil version( really gives him a earful- it was very satisfying because the couple were kissing bang in the middle of the hall 😂). Also Mullai had really good monologues where you really felt her helplessness and insecurity.
In the original, after she vents out on Dev, she also confronts Dhara, and then starts accepting that she just needs to move forward. She slowly gets back to her somewhat bubbly self while interacting with Dhara, Krish and Rishitha(yup, they have a frenemies relationship which is quite cordial), but she remains antagonistic to Kathir(Shiva) for a long long time. Though Kathir was truly a loner- a very aloof character. He wouldn’t be caught dead touching Mullai/telling her that he would “kill anyone who hurts her” 😂 he starts touching after about 200 episodes. But his journey was truly enjoyable because they peeled the onion layer by layer, and you literally would feel along with the rest of the family members that “I can’t believe this guy can change like this”
I am going to stop my rambling here to say, that we definitely should have a mountain of patience. But I felt, in the original, the pay off at the end of the journey was that much bigger.
