Falling TRPs force Sony to trash two new shows

Just a few months back, Sony Entertainment Channel had gone in for a major overhaul of its prime time content with the launch of seven new shows at a single stroke to take on the top top three Hindi entertainment channels -- Zee TV, Colors and Star Plus. However, the ambitious plan hasn't really worked.

Already, two of the new shows -- Rani Padmini (a period love story produced by Nitin Desai) has gone off air and DNA has learnt that even Palampur Express will follow suit.
Asked whether the grand relaunch had failed to boost the fortunes of the channel, Danish Khan, the marketing head of Sony Entertainment Television countered, "Despite not breaking into the top three, we are a clear number four now. But yes, Rani Padmini is off air and Palampur Express is going off air as well. Audiences have rejected them and we are pulling them off air." The audience is definitely king....

Oh no, that's so bad news, Palampur Express is such a good serial. It needs little time as new actors haven't been there for long.

I dont think that the show is ending anytime soon as they are introducing new characters and the track of the story has too changed..I think the show is doing decent after Hiten's entry..

lol so ironic that Rani Padmini and Palampur Express were one of my favorite shows. I guess I'm different than the audience.

Palampur is like the only Indian drama I'm watching other than Bidaai and I'm only watching Bidaai b/c my mom is lol. I guess the audience is not ready for shows that are "different". If they aired this in Europe, it would have been a big hit, even if it was in Hindi with English subs.
