But its true the other way around as well... People who dislike the show call people who love it many uncomplimentary names... Just like fans overhype, others run it down incessantly... For all the praise TB has got, it has an equal amount of hate... Its a two way street
Isn't all this simply a part of todays entertainment business which runs alot of social media buzz and engagement.
As for audiences not watching good content, that happens across all industries. Oscar winning movies usually don't get huge box office success as lets say the fast and the furious franchise. But they have their own audience, they get their own success.
Storytellers will make what they want and find a way to create more viewers. And I'll say it again, if replicating TB success was easy then every channel would be making just that.
I don't judge the audience who watch Tere bin and I'll never judge them, because I know that there will tons of people like me who started it to escape from depression. I was on a hiatus from ptv for a year or two and then I started all the random show like TB, MPHT and Kuch unkahi although none of them are of my taste but I watched them just for an escape.
My problem is the justification it gets and the way they says that no drama has gotten these many views, in a way they just insult the good content. Views and TRPS never defines quality neither makes the project best. Why Abdullah Kadwani keeps upon making dramas like Sirf tum, because that's what audience likes to watch while ignoring everything good. He made Jurm and it wasn't bad or problematic but it got completely flop. So of course the producer will make content on public demand as he is there for business and in the end the mindset of the society gets harm.
Some people on Twitter says that Murtasim is toxic yet it is what makes Wahaj recognizable and he will always be remembered for it no matter how many good characters he does.
Don't you think it is quite problematic because in a way it does tell that the actor should go for a problematic character for fame, as the good character will always be brushed aside. Perfect example is the amount of recognition Murtasim got without having anything special but how underrated Junaid is because the audience who watched Murtasim didn't find Junaid worth the same attention, although Junaid is better than Murtasim in every sense. We don't know how many boys and girls will adapt the problematic characteristics of Meerab and Murtasim because as of now these are what is constantly fed into their brain.
