Their conversation was so short but was conveyed with so much emotion that I can't knock it. All points to ARM and Sajal for that! But yes, I was telling my buddies I "wish" it was longer. I wish Zubiya had voiced her fears. I wish they had did a little more than what was handed to us. I wish I wish I wish. But *sigh* I am happy that they ended on a high note otherwise I was going to be a mess, as I am sure other fans of the show would be too.
About it being regressive. I WANTED a Zubiya outburst after the Khajista thing. Its in the novel but was never shown on the show. A breakdown was inevitable. I just wish they had taken an organic approach rather than the commercial one with the whole suicide attempt. This girl is strong but she was going to loose her respect in the eyes of the one man who made her feel like she mattered! Yes a woman doesn't need a man to validate her. But this wasn't just the love of her life. He was also her mentor. Someone she looked up to. Someone who's opinion mattered to her. To use FI's words, someone she didn't want to loose respect for her. It is regressive and it is very anti-feminist but this girl has been through such a ringer that IMHO it was about time she showed some emotion. Why does she have to be strong all the time? She is not bullet proof. She is not perfect. She is flawed and have deep rooted insecurities. And that much has been shown in her character growth.
That said, the episode left a little something to be desired on the Zubiya's character front.

I understand why most people are not okay with Zubiya's attempt of suicide, I wasn't either. There could have been thousand other ways to deal with this. Zubiya's closure could have been better.
But try looking at it from a psychological point of view. Comiting suicide is not a sign of weakness, life no matter who we are is precious to us. To give that away and delve into something unfamiliar, in case of suice- afterlife, is not easy. More often than not, it is irrational, a moment of complete helplessness. Nobody plans a suicide.
Seeing her brother there with Asfandyar was something she didn't expect even in her wildest dreams. Where would she go from there if they treated her the way everybody else treated her. This place was her last resort.
Suicidal thoughts occur when you can't see your tomorrow. As a patient of clinical depression who has had suicidal thoughts multiple times, I can tell that nobody plans a suicide. Planned suicides are never acted upon. Trust me on this. No human is brave enough.
Zubiya might not seem like a character who wouldn't have given up, but she was human after all. Years and years of endurance had made her insecure, she thinks her unworthy of love. And it is not easy to live with such people. In an ideal world Asfand and Zubiya would live happily ever after. But in actual life Zubiya's insecurity would come time and again. It would take a lot of time and patience from Asfandyar for her to start opening up to him.
Saying suicide is weakness is very easy but if you actually try to understand the mental status and not the situation, it isn't as absurd as it seems.

i noticed in first time watching that sceneBTW our beloved 'EDITOR SAHAB' made another BOO-BOO, one can actually see the Pajero/SUV standing in the background, stationary, to the right when Zobia is shown standing by the river in the aerial shot! 🤣
On YT pause at 17:12 min and see it in Slow-Mo. LOL this EDITOR seriously needs a class in 'EDITING' man!!!

So the last episode happened ! It was full of emotions. I am glad Rehan came and we got that Asfi-Rehan scene which was splendid !
But I wanted a more emotional Rehan-Zubia scene. A more powerful one ! It felt like Rehan was just repeating the same thing again n again. I mean he said all this in front of Asfi so here with Zubia I wanted her to breakdown or to complain to his bro Asfi witnessing it at least. If they couldn't SHOW the detaila about Zubiya's past to Asfi then at least Asfi could have seen the siblings sorting it out amd Zubuya losing her cool. This episode was very subtle. I wanted it to be more expressive. At the end too the hug saved AsfiYa fans life thankfully warna the convo they had was incomplete ! Zubiya could just say what was she afraid of ? She was afraid of losing the respect HE had in his eyes for her. She was afraid of HIM knowing how bad of a character she has. She was afraid of him considering her worthless. She was afraid of losing him in other words. I wanted her to say at least one of the above :(The whole suicide thing was :( Exactly as someone said here, it made Zubia's character weak whereas she had built herself up so strong through the years. And this suicide thing just snatched that comparison witb Daniyal away.. which I was waiting for too ! Kher, it was a great watch. This show will have special place in my heart forever.
