Are Pakistani TV channels not allowed in India?

I was wondering why there is a need to launch an exclusive Indian channel 'Zindagi' to show Pakistani shows. Are Pakistani channels not allowed in India? I know Pakistan banned Bollywood and Indian channels but due to high demand in Pakistan almost 5 million Indian illegal DTH are available in Pakistani households. India should not show such attitude that Pakistan is showing. It should lift the bar if there is any.

I live in Indian Administrated Kashmir and we have almost all Paki channels except Geo entertaintment.

because geo entertainment geo kahani geo news is banned by pemra due to some valid issues!

no even before they were banned, we dint had the channels. Only geo new was there

No I dont hink they're banned here in India. Its just that we have way too many Indian channels already,that nobody thought of including pak channels as well.

One more major factor is that we have regional channels unique to each state. Since India is a diverse country and we have people speaking over 100 languages,we have equally big number of regional channels.

So,its not just about pak channels not being here. We dont have other country's channels either.

We do have many english channels though which feature many of the famous American/british shows.But then that's there everywhere I guess right?

It was Zee who thought of incuding shows across the border this for the first time I think. Its very refreshing for us.
