Cinevista's Paalkhi has been the most low-profile show on Zee TV. It has been on air for the past one year. Starring Karishma Tanna alias Indu of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, the show failed to click with the audience. Insiders say that the show has failed to get an extension from the channel.
The buzz goes that the channel has asked Cinevista to end the show. We spoke to producer Sunil Mehta about the status of the show. "I've been hearing about this myself but cannot confirm or deny this as I'm not the one to take a decision on this," he said. "I think it is the channel's prerogative to decide the fate of the show and I'm waiting for them to make the official announcement."
While Zee TV is tight-lipped about the show, the Paalkhi team is already prepared for a farewell. "I believe that Tony and Deeya Singh's Jab Love Hua will be replacing Paalkhi. We just have some 15-odd episodes to go before we finally wrap up," informs Karishma Tanna, the leading lady of the show. Tanna too agrees that the official announcement should be made by the channel. "Cinevista is aware that the show is going off air," she says. "It doesn't really matter to me since I'm not overly attached to any show of mine. And anyway I feel that a show shouldn't go beyond a year, otherwise it starts getting on to the viewers' nerves. I think we all had a good time during the making of Paalkhi. It has been a great experience."
