Anshvi, I have always in my posts written how the writers failed to give a strong reason for Sid to switch sides, especially given his intelligence and also the time period - 15 years of torture and still a proud soldier, 2 years of sugar coated words and he turns..doesn't make sense but that is how it is (But I dont underestimate the power of indoctrination. Its happens to people living in perfectly normal, healthy surroundings). The writers wanted to show him indoctrinated and they did.
And after that there was no stopping him. Blind with hate, his mission was to destroy lives. So much was the 'brainwashing' and manipulation that a man who apparently turned because of his love for a child, got dejected when he witnessed innocents fleeing his clutches of terror. Nothing matter, not even Sartaj's death.
So after all this whose deeds mattered more? The once upon a time beautiful, loving and patriotic Sidhanth's good deeds or the current bloodthirsty Sadiq's bad deeds? Who is Shobha supposed to remember? Her lovely brother or the same brother who unleashed terror? Who is Imaan supposed to remember? The man who embraced death so that he could live or the man responsible for taking away his partner Sartaj? Such a dilemma.
In my eyes Sadiq was so so so bad that he negated all of Sidhanth's good actions because after all, we may call him by two different names but we are talking about the same man. He saved Imaan's life and gave him and Sartaj freedom only to come back and wreak havoc in theirs and their familes' lives. Sartaj lost his freedom forever because of the very man who gave it to him so, what was the use of this freedom? Does it even matter now?
When Sid got shot (I will call him Sid because in those last moments he was Sid, a regretful, guilty Sid) I couldn't celebrate the fact that a terrorist died because of the kind of man he used to be and where his own actions and deeds got him. When they showed his body, I felt like turning my face away because he was a man we all loved so much, who could go places but he chose this instead.
Soldiers are humans and so are terrorists and Sidhanth was both. A soldier in the form of Sid and a terrorist in the form of Sadiq and I don't think asking for Sadiq to be punished for everything he did is putting pressure on our Soldiers. I think everyone is aware of the fact that the day you become someone like Sadiq, your days are numbered. What we saw was that in such situations even soldiers get vulnerable which is perfectly close to reality but so is to show the consequences when such vulnerability leads to Sadiq type actions. He was undoubtedly wrong by Lala but that is no justification for his heartless, terrorizing behavior. Most of the terrorists we see in the world are people who have been wronged in their life which led them on the path they are standing on today but a sad and wronged past cannot pardon your gruesome acts.
My heart breaks for the beautiful, jovial 21 year old Sidhanth but while mourning him I cannot forget Sadiq who was very much a part of him.
See this is why I am disppointed with the writers...he never looked or behaved like a man who wanted to destroyed lives!
He asked Yusuf to kill him rather than an innocent man in Pakistan !
He asked Ibrahim in Pak hospital not to cause any blood shed.
He in Thadani's office stopped Ibrahim and asked him not to fire.
I am not sure why this contradicting behaviour !!!!!!!
IT doesn't make sense to me.
It would have made sense if we had seen Sadiq as a hard core Jehadi right from the time we met him ! But the writers never showed him like that...that was Yusuf not Sadiq !
Why show him having so much of compassion...only to turn his character completely negative towards the end.
He said he was pro humanity and he was doing it for every Rohan...I wanted to know his perspective as to how releasing Mullah will solve that
How killing many such innocents in hospital will serve that purpose !
So many questions remain unanswered
Why terrorists helped Harleen..why not wlt her die...Whey did they leave Naaz and Sartaj..they could have simply killed him.
Remember Ibrahim was on phone and Sadiq asked him to whom he eas talking and he said no one ! Why show that scnene ! What was the point !
He was always in conflict in Pak regarding his identity..why turn when bejng called Siddhant and not on Sadiq...why this scene was shown ?
I don't know what message writers wanted to convey !
That soldiers are human and can turn...okay but it should have been shown in a more sensible manner...I am not sure how love of a kid with whom u had spent merely few months can overshadow the love u had for ur sister , nation , mentor and friends.
Even if the brainwashing for this strong then at least that should have been portrayed that way !
Or th message was that one Lala was so intelligent that he brainwashed an equally intelligent solider like Siddhant and his maipualiton was stronger than Vikram's teaching , solider training , sister's upbringing and so on.
Or that ya a brave soldier turned into a terrorist and died ! No big deal ! He deserved it !
But why ! Why not make the viewers understand his psyche , his perspective or many give a meaningful message out of it !
I did not get any reason from the writers as to what he wanted to achieve !
DISAPPOINTED !
