Surya now after listening to Pooja decided not to bother about her likes and dislikes. He thought, "If we are made for each other, then we will like each other no matter how different our tastes and thoughts are". He decided to be just the way he is. He had a strong feeling tht she will like him the way he is.

But his pals scoffed at him.....

"You have to get to know her better, machan" Arya said. "if you just leave it be, then you'll be singing like Nadigar Thilagam, "Aval parunthuponnale!"

Santhanam said, "So what? We'll sing Ponnal pogathum podha". He got a whack across his head from Narain. "Oww, what was that for?" Narain replied, "For your smart-arse comments".

Surya looked at his friends. "What shall I do?"

Santhanam brightened up "Hey, a thought just crossed my mind!"

"And what, it died out of loneliness? " Narain retorted. Surya and Arya held themselves up, laughing at Narain's comment.

"OK, vendam....naan onnum sollamathen."

Surya was desperate. "Please da....help me?"

"Buy her the cutest Persian cat you can find and she'll be all yours".

"Hey, machan's brain does work,. try it Surya", Arya said.

"Santha's brains? No thanks A" Surya said cheekily but at the same time he thought of what Santha had said.....

Surya was thoughtful.

The doorbell rang. Jo's mother Geetha came out of the kitchen and called out to her son "Bharath, Bharath . go and see who is at the door...". Bharath was grumbling. He was watching an important football match,.Liverpool were thrashing Manchester United 6-0. He hoped Torres would score two more and then he would rake in enough dosh to get a butler to open the door instead.

Bharath stepped back in amazement. Standing at the doorstep, wearing a ManUre (*spit*) shirt was a dork, holding the meanest, fattest Persian cat Bharath ever saw. "I'm sorry, but the vet lives three doors away". Bharath said. "no, no" dorky Surya said with a smile, "This is Jo's house, right?" Bharath nodded suspiciously. "I am her college mate, Surya. I am here to see her". Bharath frowned, giving Surya a Nepali look. "OK, wait here". "Enanga, naan Jo's college mate endru solluren, you are not asking me to come in". Bharath looked at Surya in disdain. "Anyone wearing THAT T-shirt is not allowed to cross the door step." Surya's mind worked fast. Akka-ve illukunama thamby-ya mayikkunum. Suddenly there was a roar from the TV. Bharath turned quickly to see what was happening. Oh yes, Torres had scored. Bharath pumped the air with his closed fist and yelled "Ole, Torres you beauty....one more pa, please". Surya straightaway cottoned on Bharath's hostility towards him. "Actually, I am a big fan of Torres and Gerrard". Bharath still looked hostile. "I wore this T-shirt to please my paralysed father, who is a ManU fan....I will never wear this T-shirt again." Dei, ada paavi, Appa kuttu kalla irukum neram, ippidi oru poi solurane!!! Bharat relented. "Ok, come in.....but not with the mangy beast...." "What, Bhoomika?" Surya caressed the cat's fur, "She's Persian and she's gorgeous." "You call your cat Bhoomika?" Bharat was incredulous. "Why not?" asked Surya. "it's a present for Jo". Bharat looked al Surya as if he had just escaped from the mental asylum. "Wait. You bring a cat called Bhoomika and it is a present for Jothika?" Surya nodded happily. "Dei, sariyana loosu da ni" Bharath thought. Suddenly the football match paled in comparison. Something much more exciting was going to happen, right there in the living room of his house.

"Akka, akka," Bharath yelled "Someone here to see you...."

Surya heard thundering steps. Suddenly there was a loud thup. Bhoomika miaowed stridently. She sensed that there was another female around.

"Yei, yei ennathu?" a voice screeched. It was Jo, She looked as if she had just gotten out of bed, her har all mussed up and looking scarier than Bhoomika.

"Oh this? This is Bhoomika....just for you."

Jo's eyes narrowed. "FYI", she hissed, "I hate cats.....what more cats called Bhoomika." Bhoomika looked at Jo with disdain..."I love you too, lady."

"Take it out .....take it out now."

"But Pooja said you love cats."

I" hate cats.....I hate cats.....aaarrgggh"

Bharath was grinning. The look on Surya's face was priceless. What a dork.

"Yep mate, she hates cats.," Bharath said pityingly, " Ever since a cat swallowed her budgie called Kuruvi."

Surya ran for his life, oblivious to the pain caused by Bhoomika's sharp claws.....

THODARUM

Surya sitting in the bench thinking about the incident happened at the Jo's house. He knew he acted like a school boy and he knew he needs to think like himself and be frank with her. He thought Pooja and why did she lied about Jo?

Study holidays for Surya. Internals will start for Jo in a weeks time. But she finds herself unable to concentrate. Surya's face comes to her mind often. So she decided to go to her friend's place for join study.

She likes to read at nights so decided for a night study at her friends place. She informs her parents and leave to her friend's place. As she was nearing her friends house her heart skipped a beat. She cud'nt believe her eyes,cos Surya was outside a house near her friend's house😉. He was talking with a person who was asking him abt some address. Surya was xplaining seriously to tht person tht he didnt observe Jo walking towards him. Just when she was about to cross his house,she took her mobile and said "Amma I've reached safely.I will stay here for 2 days"

Now Jo is really scared about her feelings towards him. She looks so sad and far away look. She can't encourage him and she didn't want to drag him with her either. Jo didn't want to think about her past and at the same time she can't pretend that nothing happend before. She had to be strong and study hard and get a good job so she didn't have to depend on anybody. Her dream job is opening a shelter for abused women for that she has to concentrate on her studies so she would get scholarship to study more.

Jo's parents come to Brindha's house to pick Jo to their house. Surya's mother was in Brindha's house. Seeing tht Jo's dad get wild and says"I never wanted to face u in my life time its my fate"
