Thanks Kadhambari for the chutney recipe.
I will try it with peerkangkai alone.
For we do not get kovakkai here.
I will post the picture as soon as I do it.

rava, when she reminded me have you forgotten
about rava puttu? O.K akka there is rava puttu

Aiyo..aiyo .I am so excited Kavi..😃.coz I love suji...so am looking forward to rava puttu and all the rest of the items made of suji flour you have just mentioned above.. My darling MIL is with me now and I want to treat her with Rava Puttu....😳

Thanks Kavi for the Rava Payasam. I too have heard about this rava payasam before but haven't tried it yet!! Will do it some time soon!

Kadhambari... I too make this Peerkangkai Thogaiyal/Chutney but haven't tried the same with Kovaikai! Will give it a try next time when I get this veg. 😉

Sue akka serve the puttu with this special Masala Tea.


MASALA TEA

Ingredients:

2 cups of water
1 cup whole milk
3 tsp tea leaves
1 small piece of dry ginger mashed a bit
2 cardamom pods crushed
2 cloves
1 piece cinnamon stick crushed
4 pepper corns
Sugar as desired

Method:

Put the water on the stove and add the spices.
Bring to boil, cover and simmer for few minutes.
Add tea leaves, cover pot, remove from heat.
Steep for 5 minutes.
Strain and pour the tea to 3 cups equally.
Add milk and sugar as desired.
Your masala tea is ready to serve.

Me too never heard about rava ponggal &^ payasam. Rava puttu yes, but mum makes it, I eat it. 😛 We usually have puttu with curry. If sugar, then banana is a must. Without banana sweet puttu is nothing 😃

My mum makes pal puttu, but you can have it with a limitation only maybe a ladle of it. If more than that it will "thegatum", well at least for me. 😃

thanx kavi,sue,supree & caryn.Kavi, i somehow managed 2 get jaggery & made sakkaraipongal 2day.so,next time i will try u'r rawa payasam & let u know my comments.

Hey Gals,did anyone tried Rawa Pongal in Komalas,singapore.I tried it once but don't know the recipe but tastes yummy with sambar & coconut chutney.komalas pongal is quite gud.

Well I will post the recipe for rava ponggal.
I would not promise about the taste like Komala's.

I tried the mixed dal tadka and it came out well. My kids enjoyed the slightly different dal from the usual one I make. Thanks.
