Supree...the chicken kurma looks tasty and I am sure it goes extremely well with naan. Will definitely try this out over the weekend. But as for tomorrow's dinner I am giving a shot to Kavi's Ragi iddli which I showed to Nair Bhaiya and he said it looks absolutely delicious - awaiting to try it eagerly..😛

Apporam andha naan did you make it?? or is it the ready-made ones we get from the supermarket?? 😉

Thanks Sue Akka for your sweet compliments on the Chicken Kurma. 😊 For a minute, I thought everyone have become a vegeterian! 😉 😆

Yes, those 'Ragi Idlis' looked so yummy and silky...and you know what?! For dinner that's what we are going to have too!! 😊 After seeing those lovely picture, I soaked the Rice and Dal and prepared the batter last night!! All I am thinking now is what to make to go with these Idli's?!! Have you thought about any Akka?! 😉

Apparam, as per that Naan.... - No way I can make that great looking Naan! As you have guessed, it's Store bought 😃- Frozen by Deep brand!. Unlike the other frozen naans I used to buy before, these are ones you can have ready so quickly! All you need to do is, just spray some water and throw it in the Oven for couple of minutes.... that's it and it comes out very soft and tastes very good too!!

...and thanks for your Ball & Bread recipes. 😊 Will try out your Coconut bread/Pancake recipe sometime soon as both my dd and I got a sweet tooth 😃 plus we love coconut!!

Supree you could try the normal green chillie chutney but my hubby likes fish curry or onion curry with his iddlis. I have soaked the rice and ulunthu - will be grinding it in the morning and have it ready for dinner.

Its about 2.30am...very late and am going to bed now. Gudnite/morning and see you tomorrow...🥱

Wow... Sue Akka, look at all these Cookies, Pudding recipes.... 👏 keep it up!

I tried the Ragi idlis last night for dinner and they came out very well. While I was placing them on the plate and my kids came into the kitchen and my little son went.... Ohh.. brown idlis for dinner?! I said, yeah...try it! They both liked it so much, so did we! Thank you so much Kavi for giving a recipe which the whole family liked!! 😊

With the same batter, I made small Dosas/pancakes for about palm sized circles, with a lot of ghee around it, and it was a huge hit and kids loved it! So I got a new item to go in my daughter's lunch box, plus it's very healthy too!! I'm very happy! 😃 Thanks Kavi once again for sharing this wonderful recipe! 👏 👏

Ya Supree...my Ragi Iddlis too turned out well. As mentioned earlier I made fish curry and had balance of afternoon's sambar. Mr. Nair actually told me to thank Kavi for being so generous with the recipe. I told him that she and the rest of the members have always been generous with a variety of recipes too.👏

I am actually now looking forward to making plain rawa iddli - without any vegetables. Any idea? Perhaps Kavi could come to the rescue again...!!😆😆😆 I like anything made out of suji flour..!!!...😛

Thanks Rojakka for sharing! - It's a nice & easy way to consume the (left over) chapattis!! 😊

Sue Akka, Glad to know that you too enjoyed the Ragi Idlis. I too got a mood for regular Idlis after the Ragi idlis. So I ground and made ready the Idli batter last night! So, tonight's dinner - Idli & Payaththam paruppu Sambar! (Recipe will come later for Sambar! 😉 )

As per the Rava Idlis I usually, go for those Ready made packs... 'Gits' brand comes out really well. It's has been a while since I made the (from Scratch) Rava Idli's! 😊 😳

BTW, where is our Kavi? Don't remember seeing her around for the last few days now. Hope everything is alright at her end!

Channa Masala (Chick-Peas Curry)

Ingredients:
Chick-Peas – 2 cans (If you are not using canned peas, remember to soak it over night and cook it with little salt.)
Onion (Big) – 1
Tomatoes – 4
Capsicum/Green Bell Pepper – 1
Channa Masala powder – 1 tbsp
Turmeric – 1/4 tsp
Chili Powder & Lemon Juice – according to your taste.
Kasuri Methi – 1 tbsp
Salt, Oil/ Ghee (optional)

Method:
Chop the Onion & Tomatoes. Cube the Bell pepper. Drain the water from the ChickPeas and take about 1/3 cup of peas and grind into a fine paste. In a pan, first add about a tsp of oil or ghee and fry the cut capsicums and keep it aside.

Now to the pan, add 1 tsp of oil and saut the onions and tomatoes together till they become soft. Now add all the powders and salt. Also add the chickpeas and the chickpea paste. With this add about 1 1/2 to 2 cups of water. Cover and let this mixture boil in medium heat for about 15-20 minutes. As a final step, add the fried bell-pepper cubes and stir once. Then sprinkle the Kasuri methi and the lemon Juice. Your Chickpeas curry is ready and it can be served along with Chappathi/Naan. Enjoy!

Thanks Supree...my mouth is watering...wish I could take spoonful of chickpeas - I can enjoy it minus the chappati or naan...no time to look for rotis. I am sure our Jaz must be hungry too seeing this pic....she is getting Yorkshire Pudding for us....adhu poi try pennalamma???😆

Kavi is not well...I think she is down with flu....her whole family got it but she was hit quite badly - nausea and vomiting - got admitted in the hospital and I think she is home recuperating now - she will be back with us in no time. Let's pray for her speedy recovery...😃
