CHAPTER 22

"priya?" james questioned her again. Priya looked angry & was about to walk out of the room when the man pulled her back & slapped her hard. she yelped in pain & james intervened almost immediately. "stop it!" he pushed the man away from Priya. she was sobbing hard & james's heart went out to her. he shooed priya's assaulter away with a few threats & soon was left alone in the room with Priya. "hey priya.. please don't cry…" he bent down to face her. Priya looked away, her face streaked with tears. james took her face into his hands & wiped away her tears. Priya looked the same as she did 2 years ago. but her eyes had lost their spark. the spark that james missed so much.

Priya pushed him away angrily & started to leave the room yet again when james pulled her to him. he hugged her tightly making up for all the lost time. Priya pushed him away & glared at him in indigance. "don't touch me james. after what you did, you expect me to just fall into your arms? it's your fault why I am in this place." she screamed at him. she then pulled open the door & stormed out, leaving behind a hurt & confused james.

meanwhile the situation with meneka & aryan wasn't that great either. aryan was still pissed at meneka. he didn't speak to her well & he also started staying out late at night. meneka knew aryan was drifting away from her & it was all because of the baby. feeling that it was time to do something drastic, meneka booked an appointment for an abortion. her heart broke into smithereens when she came to that decision but meneka knew it was for the best. when she informed yashoda about it she vehemently protested against that decision. "meneka, this is what you've been waiting for all your life!! you've always told me you wanted to become the mum of a child!" yashoda shook meneka angrily. she was both shocked & sorrorwful at her elder sister's decision to kill the baby she had been looking forward to.

"yasho, I know what I'm doing. this is all for aryan." meneka remarked softly. "promise me you won't tell this matter to anyone." meneka made yashoda swear an oath. "he hasn't returned home since last night. if aryan comes, please give him some breakfast. and can you ask nagesh to speak to him about his drinking habits?" meneka pleaded with yashoda. yashoda comforted her sister by saying that she'll open this matter to nagesh as soon as possible.

aryan had been drinking the entire night. the past few days had been hell for him. not speaking to meneka or holding her close to him was pure torture. but aryan still couldn't get over the fact that meneka wanted to abort the baby because of him. the baby was their symbol of love, how could meneka have the heart to kill that innocent life? aryan wanted to throw that question at meneka a lot of times but he stopped himself.

instead aryan turned to alcohol for comfort. he drank his sorrow away but whenever he went back home, meneka's reproachful expression brought back the pain. aryan had stayed the night at the bar. he was so dead drunk that he slept there itself. waking up with a splitting head, aryan stumbled back home.

however meneka was nowhere to be found instead aryan found yashoda sitting at the dining table with a grim expression. nagesh was also with her. he also sported an equally grim expression. "aryan, where have you been? hey.. have you been drinking?" yashoda wrinkled up her nose at the smell. aryan was practically reeking of alcohol. nagesh came over & told meneka to get both him & aryan a cup of coffee. yashoda though reluctant at first, went over to the counter & started making the coffee. "hey man.. why have you become like this? you're a total mess!" nagesh scolded him. "do you & meneka have some problems between yourselves?" nagesh probed when aryan didn't reply. aryan didn't know whether it was the effect of alcohol or was it just his pent up anger, he exploded at nagesh in fury. "mind your own business nagesh. get out of here before I shoot you!" he yelled at a shocked nagesh.

that was when yashoda marched over. before aryan realised it, she gave him a big slap. "wake up aryan! meneka has gone to the hospital to abort your baby!!! if you guys didn't want people to interfere in your business, why did meneka ask me to tell nagesh about your alcohol addiction?" yashoda fumed. aryan felt as if his heart would stop. meneka was really going to abort the baby & he had to stop her. aryan rushed out without another word & sped as fast as he could towards the hospital.

an eventful chapter na? i hope i haven't squeezed too much into this chapter.😆😆😆 comments & suggestions are welcome! love you all my readers!😃

Me First! 😛 A gripping and eventful chapter no doubt. I hope Aryan is in time to stop Meneka. Can't wait for the next chapter. Keep going Leena.
