Bipolar at an elementary level

Life, beautiful life is a mystery to be celebrated. To be alive,to see the sunrise and to stand under the first drops of rain is a magical experience. But for all that is beautiful about life there are ugly and scary things about it too.

There are many things about us human species that is revolting and sickening starting with war, rape, ethnic cleansing, genocide, female infanticide, infanticide.

What is surprising and amazing is that most wars in the past and many now are being fought in the name of god.The extreme of this weird situation is Buddhists resorting to violence in sri lanka.

Whether the reasons are in the name of the father, race, religion, color and creed we humans have inherited this violent streak from our ancestors and that includes all life which came before us and all species that are under us in the food chain.

Male lions kill cubs of other lions when they take over a pride.Hyena infants fight each other from the moment they're born, and often begin their struggles inside the amniotic sac. Same sex newborns fight to the death, while brother-sister struggles usually leave both cubs battered but alive.

For Alpine swift birds, which build nests on tall buildings or holes in cliffs, this sibling rivalry can also mean a nasty fall from the nest. A new study found the more crowded the nest the more likely nestlings would battle with siblings and risk a lethal fall.

This need, this burning ache and goal for life, identity and to make a name, leave a legacy via procreation exists in all matter of lives and so survival of the fittest is the name of the game of life.

Why then do we feel sad and depressed when we see acts of violence being committed or hear about it.

Are we human beings the only species to feel, think and try to rise above such cruel acts that are inbred and ingrained on our psyche.Maybe or maybe not.

Stories about motherhood and this factor of nurturing and protecting is present in all animals and we have heard stories about them.

A young boy abandoned by his mother was kept alive by a large st.bernard dog.Cops found the toddler being nursed by the dog and rescued the child from the abandoned buildings where he was left to cope on his own at the age of two.

Yesterday,i was walking back home after my gym workout and just as i was passing krishna sweets i found this korathi woman aka gypsy woman breast feeding a small baby monkey.I stopped and gaped and went on recollecting Tarzan the apeman and his yell Aah-eeh-ah-eeh-aaah-eeh-ah-eeh-aaah!

Bipolar disorder, yes i think we humans suffer from this condition " To be or not to be."

Less animal and more human or more animal and less human. But what is human anyway but a slightly refined species and when does the animal disappear and the human rise out.

I think the process of refining, be it mother nature or whatever the source is for all this drama and mayhem is an ongoing process.

Maybe some alien species are experimenting with life in different planets in different systems in different galaxies in different universes.

But i am sure of one thing about myself, cometh the situation and cometh the human or animal in me.

Hi Satish,
Nice to see you in the forum. I just happened to come across this thread. Yay! It is nice to see actors interacting directly with the fans. I am really excited. Still in the process of reading your story. You write really good. Looking forward to your other stories.

Light through the windows

I opened the windows and bright light overpowered my sight
Light as if shot by a machine gun slanted through the rusty grills
the beams painted, sketched squares on the floor
shapes of the grill and leaves outside the grill
The years dropped away and the worries flew away
slowly the child in me lifted its hand and twirled the digits,my fingers
old memories of younger times in younger days among cousins
flooded and my fingers twirled and curled
lo and behold the deer of old raised its horns and shook its snout
i lifted my finger of my thumb and the deer opened its jaw
i giggled and made a bee and the shadow flew on the wall
i buzzed as the bee in excitement and i closed my palms
the fish swam flat and the vertical, horizontal
it swam on my white wall of my bedroom
i sighed in pleasure and my knees gave away
and i thought of the song " antha naal nyabagam'
back to doing the bed and fluffing the pillows
i whacked the bed with the bedspread and the rays of light
caught the dust of earth and caught the dust of my body
cells once alive, cells from my skin,a brown hair here and there
and they floated as wisps,as alien creatures whispering
ashes to ashes and dust to dust
and yes the words of KANSAS rang a bell
Dust in the wind, all we are is dust in the wind

Hi,
Nice thoughts.
I'm embarrassed to say this, but when no one is looking...
I still like to make hand shadows on the wall!
It's kind of fun...in a naughty way.
The images we've created with our hands as a child are simply unforgettable and amazing.
As we grow older, life changes the way we use our hands...
I've seen people wave hello, hi, bye-bye...if and when they feel like it.
I've seen people ordering with their hands to call a waiter, auto driver, coolie worker...
And I've seen people sticking up their middle finger in the middle of the road too.
At work, I've come across swollen, infected, bruised and even amputated hands.
It made me realize how some people live on and move on...
even though some body parts of theirs are permanently dead.
I've learnt a lot about people just through a simple handshake too.
(Some people grip my hand so tight and shake it so hard that my whole body shakes like a little earthquake!😆
Some people are too reserved to shake hands but instead are happy to close their palms against mine and seal it with their fingers and a big warm smile...
Some people are nervous and have cold, sweaty hands...but have a big warm heart inside...)
The most important lesson my hands have taught me is that while I'm angry at someone...
and I'm speaking with my finger pointing at them...
I invariably realise that three of my own fingers are pointing back at ME!🤔
That reminds me that I might also be at fault instead.
But I will never say the words out...
To hide my own guilt, I quickly keep my hands folded behind me and continue arguing.
If I walk with my hands kept behind me when my husband is around...
he thinks I'm hiding something in my hands that I don't want him to see and he starts looking at me suspiciously with prying eyes!
Most of the times...he's right too...😆
I think what's most important is to know every expression of our minds is subtly given away through our hands.
We may or may not have time to re-create shadow images of our childhood days...
But we do have our hands to embrace this given moment...
without surrendering to life's daily pressures.

A very inspiring article worth reading...

Once there was a man who did not make it to university. So, his mother got him a wife. After the marriage, he worked as a teacher in a primary school. Due to the lack of experience, he was squashed by the students in less than a week.
When he returned home, his wife dried his tears. She comforted him with these words. " When one is too full, he could either pour it out what's in him or he just could not pour it out at all. You should not be too sad about it. Probably there is a more suitable job waiting for you out there.'

Later on, he found another job and not for so long, he was fired due to his slowness. This time, the wife commented. 'There are always people who are skillful and non skillful. Some have experience from their years of work. As for you, you were in school all this while. So, how could you acquire these needed skills?'

He went for a number of jobs but never stayed long in those jobs. Each time, he would return home with a dejected spirit. His wife would always comfort him and never for once, she was disappointed or resentful.

He was in his thirties when he acquired a flair in languages. He became a counselor in a school for the deaf and mute. Later on, he opened a school for the disabled. A few years later, he set up chain stores in different cities and provinces selling apparatus & equipment for the disabled. He became a multi-millionaire. He was John Doe!

One day he asked his wife. 'When my future was looking bleak a , what's the reason that you still had so much faith in me?'
His wife gave him a very simple reply. She said, 'When a piece of land is not suitable for planting wheat, we could try planting beans. If the beans are not growing well, we could try planting fruits or gourds. If the vegetation is not economical, we can instead scatter buckwheat seeds. These seeds will one day bloom into flowers. On this land itself, there will be one seed that will germinate and grow.'
After having listened to the wife's explanation, he cried. His wife's faith, love, patience, and persistence in him is liken to the one seed in the land. This is the seed that persists and creates the miracle on this piece of land.
"In this world, there's no one person who is useless. It is just that they have not positioned themselves firmly in right place"

Mother india

If you want to know how divided we are, just look at matrimonial page of our newspaper.

India is running the software of tomorrow on the hardware of yesterday.

If the mobile gets spoiled blame the child, if child gets spoiled blame the mobile.

If someone asks for dirty cloth to clean something you are in India.

The only country where people fight to be termed 'backward'.

In India, you don't cast your vote, you vote your caste.

An incredible country where actors are playing cricket, cricketers are playing politics, politicians are watching po*n and po*n stars are becoming actors!- vicious circle indeed.

Sarcasm is like electricity, half of India doesn't get it.

Yeh hai india mere jaan

We spend more time talking to guests at the door when they are leaving than while sitting in the living room.

Picking up/dropping off a relative to airport/railway stn. is an important family affair.

Indian girls have 3 type of brothers: Real brother, Cousin brother and Rakhee brother.

When Indian parents buy tickets, every child becomes under 12.

We thrive on street food and don't get sick.

Most Indian bachelors wants to marry a fair girl.

REDEMPTION -chapter 1

"Love is my foundation.Wisdom is my capital.Struggle is my manner.Truth is my redeemer.Sorrow is my companion.Absolution is my goal.Death is my Redemption."

GENESIS

Their bond was forged in the darkness of the womb.Their love began with their first heartbeats and they heard each other and sensed each other. They lay facing each other and mother nature etched every part of them in the exact mould as the other.Their very souls were connected all though they were in different bodies and although they were not conjoined twins.

He was feisty and adventurous while he was calm and rarely moved. One kicked and the other stroked his foot and touched his face. Thus where their bonds made in the atomic level where god bathes each new life with his powers and blesses them with his breath.

They were inseparable and always stayed close and never from each other's eyesight. He as in the womb took the first step while he watched and always followed two steps behind his brother. They grew fast and they spoke their own language of gibberish words that others could not understand and they also spoke in their minds.

They were like two stars in the house and they shone brightly where ever they went and it was one in the front and the other one step behind him.He didn't mind being his brothers shadow for his brother shed light on him even in his shadow.

But the world is filled with darkness that was beyond their young minds and the shadows that fell upon their house was blacker than black for it came from the darkness of evil,a certain evil that resides only in humans.

They were nearly six years old and their birthday was around the corner, just weeks away and it was glorious saturday evening. Both decided to play cricket and nodded in irritation when their mother yelled at them and warned them not to go chasing the ball if it went over the back compound wall.

He always played gently and never hit out even though he felt the urge sometimes to whack the tennis ball as his soulmate brother did.But today after having watched the match where his hero Kapil dev hit the ball to all corners of the ground,he suddenly swung his bat and the ball launched itself as if it suddenly wanted to escape earth's gravity and both stood watching the yellow satellite rise, rise and then slowly curve and fall over the compound.

He did not know why but he burst out of tears and whispered " sorry, sorry da,i did not mean to do that.i will go get it back.'

His brother gently wiped the tears and said " chee, crybaby.stop it.so what if you hit the ball.have you forgotten how many times i have hit the ball and made you run all around our house compound.so stop crying and be bold.remember,i am here and i will always be her next to you.wait here and i will go get the ball and came and for gods sake don't inform mum."

He jumped on to the small guava tree and ran up its branches like a small monkey and then jumped on to the bigger mango tree branch that had leaned on to the smaller tree and quickly ran over it and reached the top of the compound wall.

On the other side of their compound wall, construction that had started for a huge apartment building had fallen silent for the past few weeks and it had been rumored that the promoter had run out of money for some of his investors had backed away in the last moment.Huge foundations pits lay in a maze in the one acre ground and it was as if mother earth had been stripped of her clothes as Draupadi had been stripped in the halls of Hastinapur palace by the Kaurava brothers

He stood watching as his brother gingerly lowered himself over the wall and gave one bright smile as he vanished over the wall.

He waited, waited for a few minutes and panicked when he felt the pain in his soul and mind.He knew instantly that his brother was in danger and the quiet, timid one sprouted wings and he ran up both the trees and stood on the compound wall, but he could not catch sight of his brother. He yelled loudly and the tears came, they came pouring down for the guilt clutched his heart and from that moment, guilt was his constant companion.where one half of his brothers soul had filled him now guilt came with pain and darkness and took permanent residence and whispered never to leave him behind.

He ran screaming to his mother and soon, servants, neighbour's gathered and searched desperately for the missing twin but he was never found. He stood watching as policemen came, lots of important looking policemen for his dead was rich and was connected. But it was all a waste of time for they never found him.

Kidnapping, ransom were thought to be the motive behind the disappearance of the boy but no call or letter came and yet the search went on.

On the second day of his brothers disappearance he came to find his parents sitting and crying near the telephone.

He stood before them and softly whispered " i cannot feel him.i don't feel him in my soul.he is gone and i don't know why or where."

The parents knew, they knew and instantly understood that two had become one.they knew for they trusted the bonds and love that their twin sons had shared and they knew from the boys whisper that their son was dead.

Loud howls of despair ripped their house and the boy turned and slowly walked out of the house and back to the compound where he had last seen his brother.

I am Rudran.I am one part light and one part darkness and i will not stop until i find my brother and those that were responsible for his death. In light and in dark i will search and i will never rest until i am reunited with my soul.Nobody can hear his voice but me and i wait for his voice to beckon asking me to come in search of him.I wait for absolution.

REDMPTION an act of redeeming or atoning for a fault or mistake, or the state of being redeemed.

"Absolution is the washing away of sin. The promise of rebirth. And the chance to escape the transgressions of those who came before us. The best among us will learn from the mistakes of the past, while the rest seem doomed to repeat them. And then there are those who operate on the fringes of society, unburdened by the confines of morality and conscience. A ruthless breed of monsters whose deadliest weapon is their ability to hide in plain sight. If the people I've come to bring justice to cannot be bound by the quest for absolution, then neither will I." Emily Thorne
