Antakshari to be aired on Star One

MUMBAI: Popular musical show 'Antakshari,' which was aired on Zee TV for nearly a decade, is back on Star One from February 2007.

The show created by Gajendra Singh will be anchored by noted actor Annu Kapoor, who anchored the popular show 'Antakshari' on Zee TV for over ten years.

Singh has added additional alphabet 'R' to his first name and 'I' to his surname.

In its new avatar, Antakshari- The Great Challenge, will see new inclusions to the format and a reality aspect, while Annu has changed his surname from Kapoor to Kapur.

Announcing the association of Gajendrra Singh with Star One, Mr. Sameer Nair, CEO, Star Entertainment India, said, ''Gajendrra Siingh as we all know is the mastermind behind popularizing music-based talent competitions and we are very excited to host his home production's debut venture - Antakshari- The Great Challenge on Star One''.

Commenting on the association, Gajendrra Siingh of Sai Baba Productions, said, ''I have always looked at opportunities to connect with viewers and this show synergizes with Star One's commitment of delivering entertaining and unique content. We have added new elements to the show which I am sure will be appreciated by the viewers. I have received support from Sameer Nair and the entire Star group when I took this concept to them''.

On the launch, host Annu Kapur said, ''This unit is like a family to me, I take this opportunity to congratulate Gajendrra and I wish him all the best. I am extremely delighted that he asked me to host the show. I can't wait to get back on the floors and hear Gaj say 'Action'!''

Popular Star One shows like Nach Baliye 1 & 2, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, The Comedy show Ha Ha Ha, Sssh Phir Koi Hai, Mano Ya Na Mano, have given viewers an all-new television viewing experience, Mr Nair said.
