Balaji Telefilms has taken another shot at roping in Padmini Kolhapure for a new show on Sony TV. Ekta Kapoor had earlier approached the veteran actress for the role of Tulsi in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The yet untitled show for Sony TV is touted to be a psychological social drama and Padmini is slated to play mother to the leading lady. The show is likely to go on air by mid-November besides the shooting will also start soon. Currently the production house is finalising the actors besides trying to give the show a fresh look and never-seen-before sets.

We spoke to Padmini who confirmed that Ekta had spoken to her about the show and the role she is to play. She said, "There were talks with Ekta but she was travelling, so nothing has come through yet. We have so far had one round of talks. Ekta had personally spoken to me about this show. I have known Ekta since she was a kid. I am fine with family dramas if they have something interesting and different to offer. We have to see if things click."

Said Prashant Bhatt, Creative Head of Balaji shows for Sony, "Padmini has been approached for a very strong character but right now she is going to Japan for some work. She has shown keenness and has liked the role and the show. If the dates work out then she would be on."

Elaborating on the look of the show Prashant said, "This show has a very fresh approach with a very different set up and content. We are trying to have a good blend of talented and fresh faces in the show. We have been auditioning people across the country. We have been working on the show for the past three months. This show will be the first to hit Sony TV amongst the few more we have planned for the channel. We hope everything works out soon."

Padmini is currently busy with theatre and has completed shooting for a film called Daughter.
