Rajeev Khandelwal, who played the character of Captain Rajveer in Sab TV's Left Right Left, won the best male actor award, while Rajshri Thakur was adjudged the best female actor for her role in Zee's Saat Phere at the Gold Awards- the first global television awards show ceremony held in Mauritius. Most of the winners were from Zee TV shows as the Balaji czarina had prevented her actors from attending the show.
The show was organized by Vikas Kalantari, Pooja Ghai and Anuj Saxena, while the hosts were gorgeous Mandira Bedi and dashing Aman Verma. The hosts did not spare Ekta Kapoor and ridiculed her style of functioning and treating her actors as captive workers.
The show opened with Narayani Shastri's performance who somehow survived a wardrobe malfunction on stage. Similarly, Karishma Tanna was in trouble during her performance when there was an unexpected power failure on the stage. Neha Bamb, Chetan Hansraj, Gaurav Chopra also performed on the occasion.
Bollywood was represented on the occasion by the director Mohit Suri and Mukesh Bhatt of Vishesh Films.
