Sony's new soap runs its pilots
Move over Jassi, Nandini is here
Durgesh Nandini, Sony's latest show that is on the pilot stage is the story of three sons of a rich father. The father on his death, assigns the ancestral property in the name of a girl called Durgesh Nanadini. This invites ire from the brothers towards Durgesh.
The show boasts of a huge star cast. Deepak Kazir (who plays the father in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki and Kasautii Zindagi Kay) will play the father to the three sons. The line-up also includes Vishal Puri and Mihir Misra who play the sons. Their sister will be played by Tasneem Sheikh and her husband will be played by Rajesh Kumar (Rosesh of Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai). Amit Sadh is also believed to be in the show. Says Manini, "Yes I have done the pilot. Haven't made up my mind if I did be doing the show eventually. Depends upon my date situation."
Rinku Ghosh will play the title role. She has done a few south Indian, Bhojpuri and Bengali films. She also played the lead in Bollywood films Wrong Number and Bharat Bhagya Vidhata.
