Saara Akaash's Monica appears on Zee for the first time

Saara Akash's Flight Lieutenant Monica is now Zee's Mamta. Sai Deodhar has just signed up to play the lead role in Shobhana Desai's (Naam Gum Jayega, Hum Pardesi Ho Gaye) latest venture on Zee. Deodhar informs, "Mamta is basically very different from Saara Akash. I play a 19-20 year old girl.This is a story which the audience has not seen in a long time on television. I play this small town girl from Lucknow and is completely different in many ways from my character in Saara Akash." Deodhar adds, "Iam doing a lot of things for the first time here. This would be my first show for Zee. I have been wanting to do a show on Zee for a very long time but have not been able to since nothing interesting came my way."So when Mamta was offered to me, I immediately took it on. The character I portray is vivacious, assertive and intelligent . Basically she explores different phases of life in this emotional drama. She starts off as a young and bubbly girl, who is later widowed. There are events that take place in her life which bring about certain major changes in her personality.'Speaking about her long running Star Plus's Saara Akash, Deodhar says, "I think it is winding up but to be very frank, we are not aware as to when and how. We have not had any official confirmation as of now." "Actually, when they shifted the show timings they killed the show as there was no information of the change in timings. It feels really bad as we have worked so hard on it." Deodhar was also signed to play the lead role in Le Jayenge Le Jayenge. She informs, "I was working 25-28 days on Saara Akash. I had signed Le Jayenge Le Jayenge as the former was going off air but then it went on and I could not do it". The shoot for Mamta will start from July 1and is scheduled to be aired sometime in August. "Zee are trying to make their afternoon slot stronger considering that their evening and prime time slots are already strong," informs Deodhar.
