India TV's sting operation has helped Shakti Kapoor immensely — the actor has now written a script, which will be made into a film by Deepak Balraj. The project is entitled Sex and Scandal.
Says Balraj, who will produce and direct, "What better than to capitalise on an incident that is fresh in public memory?"
The film will kick off in early August and the director plans to shoot in Mumbai, Kolkata and Bankgok.
I play the victim
"I am playing the victim of a sting operation, something like what happened to me on India TV. The entire focus will be on me," says Shakti Kapoor of his script.
He knows the sex secrets of top personalities
"I've known Shakti a long time; he helped me get my first directorial break with Zakhmee Insaan," says Balraj, who has directed Kannada films as well.
"As soon as India TV's Shakti story broke, I called him. He was terribly depressed and we got talking. He told me he knew lots of interesting details on the sexual escapades of top people in this country, even apart from film stars.
There are huge farmhouses in Delhi where these sleazy activities take place. People will be shocked when we divulge all this.
I told Shakti we should make a film on it and he was ecstatic. Wait till the film releases — it will raise a hornet's nest. It will be a challenge to get a U certificate for it," says the excited director.
Shakti's 'Ruchi' turn
Shakti has also signed on to play an undercover sting operator in Mahesh Bhatt's forthcoming Showbiz.
