Remember Lord Krishna in Mahabharata? Nitish Bharadwaj the suave actor is back on television and this time around he's hosting Sony's new show titled Man Mein Hai Visshwas. Produced by Creative Eye, the unique docu-drama will showcase real life experiences and incidents that can be described as nothing but miracles. The spiritual show is touted to be a social program based on people's faith. Nitish, a doctor turned actor who loves theatre has been concentrating on his political career of late and is also readying to direct a film soon. Kavita Shyam caught up with Nitish who talks about his new show... Do you believe in spirituality?
I would say I am an adhyatmik (spiritual) person. I feel when people think everything is over for them in life even one day seems costly for them. See frankly, you either have faith in God or you don't there's nothing in between. In fact even scientists pray to God before there experiments so it's not like people don't pray any longer rather people have stopped having superstitions. What made you take up this show? The show is not one of the typical saas bahu shows on air these days. It's based on real life stories of people besides well known people like Pt Jasrajji so it's a human interest reality show. And I truly believe that miracle do happen in a persons life so it's not wise to deny reality. And if television is using my face for such a good show I have nothing to complain. Why have you always been associated with mythological shows on television? I've hosted (and directed) a show called Apradhi earlier on Star News which was based on the atrocities on women and children in India. But yes somehow, I have ended up doing mythological soaps and after playing Krishna it was a challenge to do anything else. Has any of your faiths come true? Well, I'd prayed hard for a daughter to Ma Durga and I got a beautiful daughter. Why haven't we seen you enough on television? I have never been too much on television from the beginning. I have done a couple of soaps and then anchoring happened. Recently I made a hundred minutes docu feature based on RSS titled Karmyogi. Also, I've been a member of parliament for BJP which kept me busy and there hasn't been any show which could fire my imagination much. I would love to play Lord Buddha some day but then they don't show Budhha's face so that's another issue. Tell us about your future plans? I am readying to make a commercial film which will start in September. Bollywood is the buzzword today and has evolved immensely. And I am looking forward to this show and the release of my docu feature on 15 August in Delhi and in Mumbai. |
