Jab We Met songs are still played at parties! ๐Ÿ˜ณ
Pappu cant Dance, Kismat Konnection songs, Rock On ....these are the top songs now. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
@ Jenny: Ur right, Hun! The plaster shd be scared of u....after all ur Gabbar Singh! ๐Ÿ˜ณ
@ Sheriff Bhai:
Heres the list of top 10 albums of the year, go on youtube and try them out:
.

2008 may not have been a very at the box office. But the story is quite the opposite on the charts as the year has seen plenty of chartbusters. What's is that all kinds of albums have worked. From a period score like Jodhaa Akbar to something as contemporary as On to a Kismat Konnection, fans have lapped up a variety of sounds with as much enthusiasm.

So as three-fourth of the year is over we take a stock of the top 10 albums so far. But beware, with Rab Ne Banadi Jodi, Yuvraaj, Ghajini, Golmaal Returns and Dostana all set to hit the next month, the picture might be quite different by the end of the year. Movie Review

1. Race:

Pritam's 14 track score for this Abbas-Mustan thriller had 'smash hit' written all over it. Each song was livelier than the other and even more than six after its release the album continues to find a place in the Top 5 - making it the highest selling album of the year so far. Though the title track, Sexy Lady and Touch Me enjoy maximum air play, Aatif's soulful Pehli Nazar is a huge favourite with the die-hard romantics. Television TOP TEN

2.Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na:

"Rahman's music grows on you". For years this has been true for the maestro's
albums that are generally slow starters on the popularity charts. But Jaane Tu... was different. Stuck with an overdose of historicals, Rahman made full use of the opportunity to score music for a teenage love story. And the result was a truly refreshing album in every sense of the word. Today Aditi and Pappu have become household names blaring on every FM station and mobile phone around you. LIVE Sensex - World Market

3. Bachna Ae Haseeno:

When you got
RD Burman on your album you just can't go wrong. From the day the movie's first teaser was released, its theme created a huge buzz all around. Without tampering the original, Vishal-Shekhar composed a title track that in their words was a tribute and not a remix. But if the title song generated the initial interest, one must give full credit to the duo for the other songs which steadily climbed the popularity charts. Just check out Khuda Jaane? It's been a while since we heard such a fine duet. Cricket Update

4. Jannat:
After a few disappointments with other composers, Mahesh Bhatt went back to his Gangster man Pritam. And boy-o-boy did Pritam deliver the goods! Jannat had a trademark Bhatt sound that was lapped up big time by one and all. Pritam played it safe by sticking to a mix of love ballads and Pak band remixes to give the Bhatts one of their biggest musical successes in recent times. Indian Premier League 2009 Updates

5. Rock On:
Just when fans and critics were beginning to accuse the
musical trio of getting rusty, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy got back with the Dil Chahata Hai team to create magic or should we say 'Magik'. Initially brushed aside as a niche score that would struggle in the bottom-half of the charts, Rock On had a reversal of fortunes post the film's release. The situational-yet-catchy tunes found universal acceptance and tomorrow don't be surprised if you hear Farhan Akhtar's Pichle Saat Dinon... blasting in your neighboring rickshaw. 2008's Big Bollywood Hits so far

6. Singh Is Kinng:
It's an example on how a superstar cast and marketing can do wonders for an average score. Pritam's sound was straight out of the 'Underground Bhangra Music Scene' of UK. And save for hardcore fans of Punjabi music, the songs had little novelty and appeal. But given the super success of the film, Singh Is Kinng's music enjoyed a successful run at the charts.

7. Kismat Konnection:

Pritam again! A conventional Bollywood score (yes, these days it's Pritam and not Anu Malik who defines convention) with your set of foot-tapping club numbers and their remixes, Kismat Konnection got the basics right. With equal credit to Shahid's spectacular moves, the songs of the film clearly outlived the film in public memory. Trust the catchy Aye Pappi... to be a huge draw at the year-end parties. Bigg Boss 2 Updates

8. Tashan:

Easily the most underrated album in recent times. Vishal-Shekhar's genuinely different sound lost out on account of the harsh brickbats this film received. The duo deserved a better film, but nevertheless Tashan was a score enough to make a mark on the music charts. Forbes' richest Americans announced

9. Jab We Met:
No, you are not reading last year's list. The fact is Pritam's
Jab We Met has become a catalogue album that remains popular even a year after its release. Jab We Met lost out to Guru at the awards but it's hard to miss the song of this film even today on the radio stations and music channels. Mauja Hi Mauja and Yeh Ishq have become a must at shaadis while Rahman has himself called Tumse Hi his fav song in recent times. Hottest Bollywood Debuts, 2008

10.Jodhaa Akbar:
With so much negative pre-release publicity around the film, there was a certain cynicism towards Jodhaa Akbar. But despite mixed reviews, audiences slowly warmed up to Rahman's score, which wasn't really novel but very high on quality. The songs were only enhanced by Ashutosh Gowariker's magnificent picturisation, giving Rahman yet another hit in the initial weeks of the year a la Guru and Rang De Basanti.
