Raji muffled a yawn under the palm..third time in five minutes..she tried very hard to keep herself brisk..but the trainer not letting her to open her eyes..his speech was like a lullaby to her ...she was in her induction and orientation program ...along with a bunch of new joiners..as she has worked only for six months she was also considered as a fresher and kept at the cage with the all other prey of the bald head fatty..called himself as a HR manager David...

Raji felt her college lectures were far more better than this blade by the bald...in college at least she can bunk the class but here she had no other choice to skip..she has to show her acting talents to present herself as an eager and enthusiastic listener..

The so called induction program was like an infinity program it has no where seemed to be ending in near future which was running successfully already consuming wholesome 3 hours..Finally her eyes gave up as her eyelids felt too heavy to be kept open...her eyes closed for a moment out of her control..and snapped open with a jerk with a sudden voice...

"Hi David..hope I have not disturbed ur session.." karthik asked standing at the threshold of the door...

"Oh.Karthik..ofcourse not...pls...come in.."

Karthik entered the room and shook his hand with David..with a friendly smile..

" how is the program going ..?"he asked looking towards the trainees..glancing at Raji's side..

She wiped the saliva at the corner of her lips which peeped out during her subconscious sleep..

And joined the chorus

"Very good sir.."

"David, why don't we give them a little break to relax.."Karthik asked casually.

"Sure Karthik...actually I also thought the same.."he nodded his head and turned towards the trainees..

"Guys u can relax for a while now..and come back after half an hour.for the fresh new session..."

Everybody rushed out of the room as if escaping from monster...

Raji was sitting in a cafeteria and sipping her latte slowly ...relishing each ml of it..

"Hi.."

She turned for the sudden voice..her brows raised in surprise seeing Karthik over there..

She gapped at him with open mouth..

He waved his hand in front of her to broke her trance..

She snapped her eyes to come back to reality.

"Hi sir.."she replied..

"So..How was ur day today..?"he asked occupying the seat opposite to her..

"Fine sir..Very informative.." she lied with an absurd smile..

"I know David's speech would be quiet boring and vague..so I don't mind if u say the truth..but at the same time..i can't tolerate sleeping during office hours.." his casual voice turned to be a stern one when he said those last words..

Her shock was immeasurable..

"omg..he had seen it.."

Yes Karthik has noticed her sleeping while he had been crossing the training room..so only he interrupted the class to let them have a break..

She looked at him with a sorry face..

"It's ok..since it is the first time I am neglecting it..but don't repeat this again..bye" he said with a bossy tone..

When he was about to leave she stopped him..

"Karthik sir.."

"Yes.."

Atlast she asked the question which was bugging her since the time they met ..

He scrunched his brows.

Scrutinizing her confused face he asked...

"Naama ippa dhaane second time meet panrom..?"

Now its her turn to scrunch her brows..

"Yennai nijamaave unagalukku niyaabagam illaiyaa sir...?"she asked with a longing face..

"Yenna.. nee yennoda face book friend nu solla poriyaa?see I have 700+ friends in fb..adhula paadhi peroda per kooda yenakku theriyaadhu.."he said sarcastically..

"No sir...5 years before.."

He didn't let her to complete..

"Train la meet panninom maa?what u r trying to state haa?ippadi laam solli yen kitta advantage yeduthukalaam nu paarkiriyaa..?"

"Unakke idhu silly aa theriyalaiyaa?nee ippadi oru cheap aana ponnaa irupennu therinjirundhaa..interview poradhukku unakku lift ae kuduthirukka maaten.."

He stormed away from there.. after spitting fire on her through his words..

She was astonished by his last words..

"Appo sir dhaan yenakku lift kuduthaaraa?so sweet..Knowingly or unknowingly he would be my savior always.."

His last words vanished away the pain caused by his harsh words..

Raji was standing in the bus stop..looking at the direction impatiently for the arrival of his monster like bike...

She has already neglected many offers of the share auto ride..and expecting for that one man to come..

When she has decided to change her mind as it was getting late for the office..she looked one final time towards the road..to her surprise he was coming..

With a fluttering heart she stepped on the road and extended her hand to ask for a lift..

The bike slowed down and stopped in front of her..

he removed his helmet and looked at her questioningly..

"Hi sir...bus late..auto layum ore rush adhaan lift keten.."

He looked at the share auto waiting besides her making loud horn to grab her attention..

He eyed the almost empty auto and then turned to her with a sarcastic look ..

With a defeated face she stomped away to get into the auto..but after she took a few steps..he said to the driver..

"Avanga varalai..neenga ponga.."

She looked at him in surprised eyes.

Ignoring her look He wore his helmet and asked her to sit back..

Her happiness knew no boundaries.

That time he drove with nominal speed..and the ride was pleasant to her..she was literally on cloud nine..as it was her dream come true after her years of wait..

While driving unexpectedly one auto came in wrong side and he has to apply sudden brake to avoid the collision..

She was startled and gripped him so tight for balance..

"Sorry, auto naduvula vandhuduchi...are u ok..?"

His concerned voice was like a violin music for her..

"I am fine sir.."she smiled brightly..

"Stupid fellow.." he cursed the auto driver..while she thanked him cordially..

After they reached their office ..

She thanked him..

"Thank u so much sir.."

"It's ok..indha lift kekura pazhakkam idhoda nikkatum.tomorrow I won't stop the bike.." he said sternly..

Her ace fell in disappointment..

"Sorry sir..."She said meekly and turned to leave..

"Oru nimisham.." he stopped her..

"All the best for ur day today..."he said with an unfathomable glee in his eyes..

Without knowing the underlying threat in his words..she grinned widely and said..

"Thank u sir.."

Later she came to know the actual meaning for his all the best...when she was called for the meeting in his cabin..

Raji and Lakshmi were presented in Karthik's cabin..

Good morning sir..both wished him..

"Morning..be seated..Ok let me come to the point straight away..as u two r new joiners to my team..i want to test ur skill ..Today I am going to give u a case study..u have to study it thoroughly and should give a ppt presentation by this evening..

The presentation timing should be 8 to ten minutes..for other details team leader Mr.Vishnu would guide u ... collect ur laptops and necessary things from admin...

one more thing...unga rendu perla yaaru best ah present panreengalo that person would get a chance to assist me in my next project..its a rare opportunity even experienced members in my team also won't get that easily..so keep that in mind and do ur presentation well..and the very important thing is...Unfortunately if ur presentation is below average then mind it today will be ur last day in this office..so do well ..all the best..any other queries..?

"No sir.."

"Good u may go now.."

Both came out speech less and let out a deep sigh...

"Appaa singathoda gugai la irundhu thappichi vandha maadhiri irukku..Lakshmi said with relief..

"Aanaa onnu its really a golden opportunity..Karthik romba talented nu kelvi patten..avaroda serndhu work pannaa neraiya vishayam kathukalaam..namma career growth ku nalladhu..So I am going to try for it sincerely..."Lakshmi said determinately..

Chance for working with sir..Raji couldn't ask more than this..

No I shouldn't let this chance slips away from my hand..

She resolute in mind..RL went to meet Vishnu..

"Hello sir..Pm Sir ungala contact panna sonnaaru.."

"Yeah come..be seated..."

He gave information's about what they have to do...

"Yenndaa innum serndhu rendu naal kooda aagalai adhukkulla ippadi torture panraangale nu nenaikaadheenga.. "Vishnu asked with smile..

"Appadi laam onnum illai sir.." Raji denied hurriedly.

"Karthik is like that only..but very good person at heart..avanoda work panni pazhagitaa neenga vera team ku poga ninaikamaateenga..Challenges like panravanga Karthik iyum like pannuvaanga.."

Vishnu said with pride...

"Appuram sir laam vendaam...,Vishu nu koopidunga podhum.."Vishnu smiled friendly..

"Hey,I like this Vishnu..very cute ila.." Lakshmi asked Raji..after they had come out of his cabin..

"Lachu..TL ah sight adikiriyaa?"Raji teased her..

"Naanaavadhu TL ah sight adikaren..aanaa nee PM ah yae route vidura..."

"Hey yenna pesura Lakshmi..."

"Nadikaadha..nee Karthik ah look viduradha naan paarkalainu nenaichiyaa?ponnugalukku indha vishayam laam takkunu therinjidum..."

"Appadi laam onnum illai Lakshmi..nee loosu maadhiri uzharaadha.."

Raji hide her blush by biting her cheeks from inside..

"Sari vaa poi velaiya paarkalaam..time aagudhu.." Raji dragged Lakshmi before she say anything teasingly..

Raji wanted to do the presentation at her level best...as it was her only chance to get closer to Karthik sir... "I have to excel in this presentation...don't know why he is behaving strangely as if he doesn't know me anymore..let me find that reason later ..as of now...i have to impress him anyway..this is my golden opportunity to prove my talent..because I know Karthik sir always like talented people..today i will show him how his stupid little girl Paapu has turned out to be an intelligent and efficient Raji..."

She worked very hard and finished her presentation on time..

In the conference room...Karthik and Vishnu seated adjacently..and Raji and Lakshmi seated opposite to them...

First Lakshmi was called to give her presentation..

As lakshmi was giving her presentation ,Raji's focus was fully on Karthik and his expressions..

It seemed he was pleased by Lakshmi's performance..Raji could clearly feel that..

Her nervousness was increased many folds by then..

"What if my performance wouldn't exceed Lakshmi's..what Karthik sir will think of me..oh no..avaru munnadi indha oru avamaanam maatum nadakka koodaadhu..

Naan dhaan best aa irukanum.."she keep on cribbing to herself..

After Lakshmi finished her presentation Karthik appreciated her work.. and also asked few questions Lakshmi answered confidently and aptly..

"Very well done Lakshmi...according to me this is the best..oru fresher ivlo nallaa panradhu is not a easy job..u have proved that u r a deserving person to this job.."

Raji's head was spinning..her hands started shivering ...she can't take that anymore..she was at the threshold of fainting..

"Iyoo idhukku mela naan yenna present panradhu..indha Lakshmi yen ivlo nallaa present pannaa..?kadavule kaapaathu.."

She pleaded the almighty for help..

"Miss Raji ..its ur turn now.."

Karthik's bold voice penetrated her thoughts and she jerked back to reality..

She slowly got up from her place and walked towards the projector..with her lappy in hand...she felt she literally forgot everything...

" Raji r u ready?" Karthik asked formally..

Her throat went dry and mind became numb..she looked at him blankly..and nodded her head for a no..

"No sir..." she replied meekly..
