TV actor Mishkat Varma, who rose to fame with his debut show Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya, has changed his genre on the small screen from drama to comedy . The actor is presently seen in the comedy serial Ichhapyaari Naagin.
Ask him about this sudden shift and he says, "Comedy is a completely different area for me. While choosing a show, what matters to me the most are the makers and the money! Money is a very important factor for me; I will never work for less money . I don't come from a school of thought of working for less money . At the same time, I am not a person who can pick and choose his projects, yet. In fact, TV actors who say they choose their shows, lie, it's rubbish! The producers choose the actors for shows and that's the truth. So, when Ichhapyaari Naagin was offered to me, I said yes," says Mishkat, who was in Lucknow recently.
An actor by choice, Mishkat who says he was below average in studies, always wanted to be an actor. "I wanted to be famous and have that stardom. And I think television these days gives you equal stardom, if not more, than Bollywood. Followers of TV actors on their social networking accounts are no less than Bollywood actors. There are actors quoting a whooping amount of '1.6 lakhs per day for serials. It is insane! Also films don't pay us TV actors well as filmmakers think they are doing us a favour by taking us in their films," he says.
