chapter - 3
The day continued like that...with Kabir doing his k antics ...the girls drooling over him...and nisha being j... and nibir creating a special impression in every professor's mind with their doings. Nisha and kabir both wished if they hadn't lied about them not knowing each other, but somewhere they liked the consequences which occurred today. Their fights, their moments. Kabir smiled remembering the scene when they were alone in the classroom.
It was 7:00 pm already, and a last lecture was left.
Some of the students were gossiping about nisha and somewhere doing the same about kabir. In between these gossips, there was someone who wasn't interested in both and was discussing about another topic. It was shivam , the topper of the class. He had a habit of chewing his nails whenever someone else except him wins, he knew nothing except books. And he can do anything to win. He had one and only friend in the whole class and that was dodo (his real name isn't dodo, it is rohan, but due to his innocence, is called by everyone as dodo and also milk baby) . Shivam was the brother of the diva ( although only she thinks like that and a few others) , Risha . shivam loves his sister and can kill anyone for his sister. And dodo somewhat has a crush on her. Risha and Shivam were the kids of a very successful businessman, Vikram Arora. Both of them were very well pampered by their parents, since they were born, they got everything they wanted, their father loves them, although their mother stopped them from being bad.
dodo: yaar wo khadoos piku abhi aaya nahi...kya baat hain..??? aaj pata nahi kaun marega uske haathon se..!!
shivam: haan...waise bhi itna late kar hi raha hain to...gusse mein bhi bht hoga wo...baahar kisi ki jaan nikaale na nikaale class mein to aaj koyi na koyi maregaa hi.
Dodo: ekk clause tu bhul gaya shivam..!!
Shivam: kya..??
Dodo: chahe wo ladka ho ya ladki...wo kisi ko bhi nahi chodta...!!
Shivam : wo yaad nahi wo ladki...kya naam tha uska...hhaan..riya...usko to usne itni buri tarah se daraa diya tha ki baat suicide tak aagayi thi.
Kabir , who was sitting on the desk before them, was listening to them carefully with his eyes closed and was a little frightened.
Shivam: ( staring at kabir) : chahe wo kitna hi new admission hi kyun na ho..!!bechaara dean tak use darta hain...and yaad hain ek baar police bhi aayi thi use lejaane keliye...par pata nahi kaise baahar nikal aaya.
And he gave a high-five to dodo and laughed a bit.
After sometime, everything was silent, Kabir was resting his head on his desk, he wondered why everything was so silent, when he heard nisha shouting. Kabir got worried as everyone was watching her in shock...with their wide eyes...he went there too...and stood in the crowd which gathered around her..he somehow went to the front of the crowd... to see nisha shouting...he actually couldn't understand what was happening, nisha stood on her desk and was shouting and jumping like a small kid. And her friend sneiha too was standing on the desk beside her, while sahir was laughing holding his stomach.
Kabir: kya ho raha hain yahan..?? tujhe koyi kaam nahi hain kya humeshaa hallaa machaane ke alaava..?? he tried to ask nisha indirectly.
Nisha: abee gadhe...tujhe zameen pe w o lizard nahi dikhaayi de rahi kya..??? ab kya paagal ke saath saath andha bhi hogaya tu...??
Kabir's eyes widened with fear. He slowly looked at the lizard which was roaming on the floor with fear. Fear surrounded in his mind as he started shouting. And he ran all over the class room like a 5-year old, who runs when mentioned a ghost. He ran and stood beside nisha on her desk.
Kabir: bachaao...bachaaooo...mujhe uss lizard se bachaao..!! kabir held nisha by his shoulders and hid himself behind her.
All the girls and dodo got frightened at the mention of lizard. Dodo stood beside Risha...and started shouting as if someone was trying to misbehave with him. Everyone in the class started shouting like kids in a kindergarten . boys present there watched kabir in shock, today kabir was looking more interesting than girls in the class.
Kabir: ( in nisha's ears, when no one was seeing them ) : ye tujhe kabse chipkali se darr lagne laga nisha..??
Nisha: (in a slow voice) : jab wo chipkali ...wallet kholte hi ..uske andar se nikle to kisi ki bhi waat lag jaati hain kabir..!!
Kabir: matlab ye humaare ghar ki chipkali hain...jisko tune mujhe daraane keliye paal pos ke badaa kiya hain..??
Nisha: ab mujhe kya pata meri parvarishh mein kaha kami aagayi ki wo mujhe hi daraane lagaa..??
Kabir: tu aski maa jo thehri...aise shock to milne hi hain...!!
Nisha: hain to tera hi na..!!
Kabir: aaaeee ye mera bachcha nahi hain...mujhe kya pata tu isko kahan se laayi..??
Nisha: kabir how ridiculous you are...mere bolne ka ye matlab tha ki tere hi ghar ka hain...k kahinka..!!
Kabir: ohh...aise bolna..!!
Everyone was busy in shouting, while nibir in their fighting, when a peon came inside the classroom...and announced that piku was coming...but nobody was paying attention to him...he tried here- four times more but...no use...he got irritated and went away.
Peon: (monologue): naa sunna na ...to na sune...ab mujhe kya piku ke aane ke baad kya hota hain..!!
Shivam , who was not at all interested in their crazy things, paid attention to the announcement made by the peon and made Risha and Dodo aware of that and made them sit down back on their places. Risha tried to make kabir sit down but it was of no use.
The class had totally turned into a kindergarten within few moments. With everyone shouting and throwing things on each other. People who would watch them will be never be able to believe that they were Phd students. Everything in the classroom was really messed up. When the terror of the college entered the classroom to find the mess. His anger raised to another level, when he saw the whole class in a topsy turvy state. His eyes got all red. He shouted aloud .
Piku: classs...!!!!
Everyone's eyes widened with fear as he shouted like that. They sat down on their places. Kabir too sat down on nisha's seat and pulled nisha too to sit beside her. Nisha , who was shouting, kept both of her hands on her mouth with fear. and her eyes were closed due to fear.
Piku: ye kya ho raha hain yahan par...??? He roared like a lion.
All the students except kabir, sneiha, sahir, and shivam pointed their fingers towards nisha. Nisha stood up immediately, before she could talk anything, he made shivam stand up. shivam was his prodigy. Piku hated wretched kids . and loved punishing them. He had some reason due to which he did that.
Shivam stood up and just pointed his figure towards nisha. He felt guilty but it was of no use. If he had not pointed his figure towards her, he would have been at risk, as piku hated liars too.
Piku: aaaeee ladkii...chal mere saath...!!
Nisha: sir lekin...maine kuch bhi ni kiya..
Piku: mujhse zubaan ladaayegi tu...?? Teri itni himmat...!!
He took his stick and was about to hit her, when kabir kept his hand in between, and it hit him. Kabir flinched in pain...as the hit was very hard. Tears brimmed in nisha's eyes. Kabir sat down holding his hand on the seat.
Piku: abhi tum chalogi ya main aur maaru tumhe...??? Tumne galti ki hain to punishment to tumhe milke hi rahegi.
Nisha followed piku without arguing anymore, because she knew that kabir would take all the blame on himself and get more hurt, the hit was enough for her. She couldn't see some more pain in his eyes. It was not something which she could do.
Kabir tried stopping nisha, he held her hand, but it was of no use, she left his hand and followed him.
Kabir stood up to walk behind her, when nisha turned to him and said not to follow her. She told him with her eyes that she would be fine.
Kabir stopped right there. She took a promise from him through her eyes that he would not follow her, because it would reveal their secret. For kabir, the secret wasn't at all important for him, But nisha was.
He just went and stood before piku.
Kabir: sir aakhir iski galti kya hain..??? kya kiya hain isne jo aap isko punish karna chahte ho..??
Other students who made a crowd over there, started gossiping.
Dodo: ye paagal ho gaya hain kya..?? kyun jalti aag mein khudna chahta hain ye..?? lagta hain first day hi marne ki taiyyari karke aaya hain..!!
Shivam: abee yaar...agar main uss ladki ki taraf ishaara nahi karta na..to aaj hum sab phas jaate...main bhi kya karta yaar...ekk keliye main sabko khatree mein nahi daal sakta na..!!
Piku: .aap kaun hain..??? college me naye aaye hain kya..??? mere baare mein nahi pata..??he said with red eyes.
Kabir: lekin maine class mein shor machaaya tha naa...to iski kya galti hain..??mujhe punish karoo na...!!
Piku: aapko punishment chahiye..?? sachchmein..?? agli baar...abhi humaare paas time nahi hain..abhi to iss ladki ka time aaya hain punishment ka..!! he said sadistically.
Kabir: aap aisehi kisi ko punish nahi kar sakte...!! Police mein complaint jaa sakti hain aapki...!!
Piku: bachche, tu meri complaint karega..?? tu na abhi mere ko achche se jaanta nahi hain...!! Shivam aur rohan, tum dono isko pakad ke rakhkho..!!
Shivam and kabir immediately went towards kabir and dragged him inside the classroom while piku dragged nisha with him. Kabir shouted taking nisha's name.
Kabir: nishaaa...nishaaa...!! aaj jo bhi ho jaaye main nisha ko bachaake hi rahunga..!!he said with tears in his eyes.
He never thought that this matter would become so serious. He tried to loosen shivam and dodo's grip on him.
shivam : tu zyaada hero mat ban samjhaa...warna tub hi jaayega..uss piku ke jail mein..!!
kabir: ohh...tuneee uska naam liya kaise..??? main nahi dikhaa tum sabko waha..?? mera naam nahi le sakte the kya..?? ladki hain wo...itna bhi manners nahi hain tum logon mein..??
kabir feared about nisha. He was worried for her. Tears brimmed in his eyes. These tears were the combination of anger, fear, concern and love. And shivam was somewhere feeling guilty .
He just pushed shivam and dodo off him. And started walking out of the classroom when he was stopped by sahir and sneiha.
Saha: rukoo kabir...hum bhi challenge tumhaare saath...!!
Kabir smiled at them. While the others present there were watching the trio in shock. Risha tried stopping kabir..but he didn't..!!
Risha ( to shivam) : ye teeno jaan bhoojh ke kuee mein kyun khudne jaa rahe hain..??

Nisha: sir...sir...please maine kya kiya...please mujhe chod dijiye na..!!
Piku: I can't let wretched kids go off so easily...!! And he started dragging her...and his grip on her hand tightened even more.
Nisha: sir main agar aapki beti hoti toh...bhi kya aap mujhe punishment dete..??
Piku's grip loosened on her hand.His sadistic face turned into that of a normal human, indeed it turned into a sad one.he stopped walking. He stood right there like a statue, until he replied.
Piku: kaash maine punishment di hoti...to aaj ye din nahi dekhna padta..!!
He left nisha's hand and started walking away.
Nisha looked at him with confusion on her face, she understood that there was something wrong with this person. There was another face, behind his cruel face, which was hidden from the whole world. Something which was different from this one.
She walked back towards the classroom. When she found kabir, sahir and sneiha coming towards her. She smiled seeing his worried face, and her friends. Kabir saw her and quickly walked towards her. While saha followed him.
Sneiha: nisha , u r ok na..?? uss piku ne kuch kiya to nahi...??
Sahir: haan yaar...u r ok , right..?? do you want us to leave you home..??
While kabir said nothing, he just kept staring at her with his eyes full of concern, love and anger, anger that she didn't listen to him. Nisha signaled him through her eyes that she was okay. While kabir kept looking at her. Silence took its place between them today . no one was in a state to speak.
Sneiha: why aren't you answering nisha...?? U okay na..??
Nisha nodded her head positively and told them that she wanted to go home.
She signaled kabir that she would wait for him outside. Kabir just stared her. She went inside the classroom, everyone looked at her in shock...everyone wondered as how she was left by piku. They looked at her with wide eyes, while shivam smiled seeing her fine.
Dodo: isko piku ne itni jaldi kaise chod diya...??
Shivam: don't know..!! as he kept staring at her.
Nisha took her bag...followed by kabir. Nisha, kabir, shir and sneiha left the class. They went back to their respective houses. Kabir picked nisha up from the entrance of the college. All the way to home, nisha tried talking to him, but he was in no mood to talk with her. He was angry, those stains on tears were still on his face. It showed how much he had been crying. Nisha felt bad for hurting him, but no way was left for her.
That night, when they reached home, kabir did not speak anything to anyone, he did not even have his dinner, he just went straight to his room, and took his side on the bed and laid down there, without even changing his clothes, he slept.
That night, nisha did not sleep, as she had experienced a new fear, not of the punishment, but of hurting kabir, she went towards him and held his hand and sat on the floor the whole night. she caressed his hair, and kissed his forehead.
She slept holding his hand the whole night.
