Part 4

Day 2:

Morning 6.30 A.M. at Viraj's Pent House

Viraj was speaking very excitedly to someone on phone, "So aap kal subah aa rahi hain? Ab sab theek hoga! Thank you very much!" (So you are coming tomorrow morning? Now everything will be all right! Thank you very much!)

Morning 7.30 A.M. at Gangwal House

Dadaji had called everyone to the hall to discuss something very important. Both Kabir and Nisha walked very apprehensively like school children who were caught in some mischief while the other house members walked in completely nonplussed at this sudden summons by Singham.

He began, "Main kal rath seh soch raha tha is baren main. Aaj seh wohi log mere sath dukkan aayenge joh such much aana chahthen hain. Main samaj chukka hoon ke hum sab ki alag alag sapne hain, aur use pure karne ki alag alag raste hain, aur manzilein bhi alag alag. Is liye aaj se koi dabaou main aakar dukaan nahin aayega. Hum sab apni apni manzilein alag alag their karenge, par ek doosre ke sath rehkar, aur ek doosre ke sath kada hokar." (I was thinking since yesterday night about this. From today onwards only those people will come to the shop along with me who truly want it. I have understood that all of us have different dreams, and our ways and means of fulfilling them are different, and our end goals are also different. So nobody will come to the shop under pressure from the family. We will achieve our individual goals independently but by remaining together and supporting each other.)

Morning 8.30 A.M. at Gangwal House

The door bell was ringing incessantly. Aman opened the door revealing the tall and handsome figure of Viraj Singh Rathore, the brother whom destiny had bestowed on her. She was very happy to see him after a long time and after the misunderstanding between the Gangwals and him were finally resolved. He had been their savior in their times of difficulty. And she never got an opportunity to thank him. But one look at his face convinced her that he was very disturbed. Something was definitely wrong or he would not have come at this time of the morning.

He said seriously, "Aman, where's Dadaji and the rest of the family? I want to talk something very important to all of you." After everyone had assembled in the hall, he explained everything that had happened from the beginning till that moment. He ended by saying "So that was the short explanation of that long story. To say that I am overjoyed to have a brother in my life would be an understatement. I have someone in my life whom I could truly call my own, my family.

Then Saurav told me some disturbing truths. Firstly, that Nisha and Kabir got accidentally married at a Samuhik Vivah. Secondly, that Nisha and Kabir had been forced to agree to marry each other before the society in order to prevent infamy. Thirdly that Nisha had agreed to this marriage in anger after hearing about my upcoming engagement to Kaira. Why Kabir agreed to it, is still beyond me though? I think he must have started caring and feeling concern for Nisha even then. That's why he must have agreed to it.

Ma is not here and Pa is in the Heavens, so I have to be both Ma and Pa for Kabir and prevent him taking any wrong decisions. I only asked Kabir to come here and apologize for his mistakes and to convince all of you to send Nisha along with him. But I don't know what happened between the two of them yesterday night, they both are planning to take divorce. That's the reason why I had to come here!"

The whole family was shocked by this turn of events. They had never expected that Nisha and Kabir would commit such blunders, and now to top it all, they were planning to take divorce! A stunned silence prevailed in the hall after this disclosure. Viraj finally said, "I hope I've cleared all the things. I'll take Kabir with me for now. We'll all meet after five days. If Nisha and Kabir still want to separate at that time also, I'll get the divorce papers ready, and they can sign it on that day."

Nisha stood up and suddenly said, "Viraj, it's not necessary for you or Kabir to wait for five more days, I'll give you my answer and decision now itself. If Kabir wants to go he is free. Get the papers ready!" Dadaji was about to protest but Ramesh said, "I'm with my daughter in this. We got Nisha and Kabir married the last time against their will. We all have seen the end result of that. So if anyone thinks of forcing my daughter this time, I'll surely leave Gangwal House along with my family."

Kabir stared at how impossible and illogical his wifey was. When did he ever tell that he wanted to go after he had fallen in love with her except that one time they had their fight regarding his carelessness in the fake jewels scam? Was she so wooly-headed that she thought he would leave her and go after dancing with her like that yesterday night?

Viraj gave a slight cough while thinking on his feet and telling, "In that case, Nisha, am I to understand that you are ready to divorce Kabir, and that you would have no problems even if he remarried?"

This was a new one to Nisha. She never expected this but there was no getting out after she had got herself into this tight spot. She sounded as collected as she could be while saying, "No...not at all...I'll sign those papers and Kabir can get married to whomsoever you choose for him. After all you are his elder brother so..."

Viraj had now got her in the right spot. He continued, "It's actually not me who is choosing the bride for him." Nisha was definitely curious now, "Then it must be Vasundhara aunty; I mean Kabir's and your mom." He gave a smile and said, "You're wrong even there. It's actually Kabir's own choice. If you go to his Facebook account you'll find the name Ahaana in his list of friends. She used to be his college mate and at one time he used to be very crazy for her. He used to post his pics along with her on Facebook. He even proposed to her, you know. But somehow it did not work then. Later he came to India and got accidentally and then forcefully married to you. But now since you are freeing him from this relationship, I was thinking it would be great if Ahaana and Kabir get together now!"

Viraj knew that the bombshell had been dropped. He was waiting with bated breath for its impact. Nisha, grinding her teeth in anger, but smiling away to show her family and cousins, just managed the words, "Oh...how very...exciting!" If she and Kabir had been alone she would have surely boxed his ears but now that option was ruled out. Viraj continued adding insult to injury, as Kabir continued staring at his brother in complete disbelief, saying, "Actually Ahaana is coming to stay with us from tomorrow. The marriage will be in ten days, five days after both Nisha and Kabir sign the divorce papers."

Once they came out of Gangwal House, Kabir flooded him with questions, "Bhaiyya, how did you know about Ahaana? I never told you. Why I never told even Nisha! When did she tell she was coming? She used to be the College Queen while I was the College Dude. So we got together. We were never serious about that proposal and marriage stuff. It was just a bit of practical joking. And moreover, her engagement is already over with Vivan. I also heard that her marriage was due this month. Then what happened to it?"

Viraj quieted him, "One question at a time! I hacked you FB account. You've to draw some benefit at least from being the nephew of the Great Great Oh My My Gayatri Devi who happens to be your Bua. Elders say, Agar Ghee seedhi ungli seh na nikale toh ungli teedhi karni padhthi hai!' I was doing the same. Reverse psychology and jealousy work when nothing else does. So I contacted Ahaana from your FB account and told her the whole thing. She also agreed to our plans. But there is just a slight problem. Her actual marriage with Vivan is fifteen days later. So she will not be able to stay with us for more than ten days. We have to convince Nisha before that. Do you get it?"

Kabir said, "Yes, Bhai! We'll rock it! Ab pata chalega Nisha ki Bachchi ko pyar main tadapna kya kehthe hain! (Now Nisha will understand what it is to waste in love.)

At this exact moment, Nisha was urgently going through Kabir's FB account. Dolly Di was trying to convince her, "Koi bat nahin Nishu! Woh tujh jaise beautiful nahin hogi. Kabir shadi karne ke baad bhi tumhare baren mein sochtha rahega. He wonts be happy at alls in the marriage!" (Don't worry Nishu! She will not be so beautiful like you. Kabir will keep on thinking only about you after his marriage also. He will not be happy in this marriage.)

Dekhiye yeh kitni khoobsoorat hai?" (What Di? There is a limit even for giving false hope. See how beautiful she is?)
